Jul 21, 2009We have a vendor that sends CSV files as email attachments. These CSV files contain statuses that are imported into our application. I'm trying to automate the process end-to-end, but it currently depends on someone opening an email, saving the attachment to a server share, so the application can use the file.Since I cannot convince the vendor to change their process, such as offering an FTP location or a Web Service, I'm stuck with trying to automate the existing process.

The application can reside on the same server as the POP3 server, for example, we could setup the free POP3 server that comes with Windows Server and pull against the mail file stored on the file system.
Download Emails From Junk Folder Using POP3?
Feb 3, 2012POP Servers allow for the LIST command that returns a list of all of the emails in the mail box. Unfortunately it does not return ALL of the emails, it only returns the emails from the Inbox. So if an email lands in a junk folder it cannot find it.Is it possible to download emails from the junk folder using POP?This is the current class(s) that I am using:

Mar 5, 2012how to download emails from a GMail account in a program I am creating for a clinic. I can send emails quite easily over SMTP, but can not find a way to recieve them (over POP3 or IMAP using SSL). I need to get the message body and the sender from each email in the inbox. It also needs to be native and can not use pay-for-use COM's and such. I am using Visual Basic Express 2010. Is there possibly a simple mail client program that is open source in VB.NET that I can tear apart?

Oct 27, 2010What to use for adding multiple attachment to a email. I'm using VB 2010.
First, I have a Form in my company web site to fill a reclamation ..... when you fill and send it, it convert the form into a PDF, save it in the client side "TEMP" and finally get the PDF and send it to a email..... that's perfectly fine. I add to the form the capability of attach multiple files with file upload to the same "TEMP" and displayed in a Grid View to remove or add files and send everything to a email, the attachment capability is working. Everything is working with the PDF not the files(attachments).
There is a way to get the multiple files from the "TEMP" folder and add it to some dynamically variable (array list, attachment collection, list collection, etc.) so all can be send to the email. I already know the way to put it into the email with the PDF.
The problem is to get the files and add it to the dynamic variable and that it work with the email. If the code is need it.

Dec 11, 2011I wrote a program to download and play AVI files the files are large in size and long time wise. I have the files playing as they are being downloaded but i can't see how long the file is or seek reliably. i was reading that the AVI headers are in the last 512kb of the AVI file *why would't they put it at the start* lol so my question is is there a way to download the last 512Kb of the file i'm downloading. i have the Bytes Read and Length of the file while its downlaoding i'm just not sure where to go from there, or how to do it atleast. If i had the length in time of the Avi file i could set the trackbar to be able to seek properly. or if someone has an idea how i could get the time of the video by using fps and some math i could prob do it that way too but idk how i would tell how i can find how many kb are in the fps i'm sure it changes so think that way is't going to be reliable. how to get the last 512kb would be the best option not sure if it can be done even.

Feb 13, 2011Im haveing trouble getting this code to loop.Im trying to download files for which I have got the file names listed in listbox3.At the end of each file d/l ive got it to preformclick() to refresh the downloaded file list.Ive got it to d/l one at a time and moves to the next in the listbox but stops there, atm ive taken the do while out as it doesnt work.

The problem is, that because of varying file sizes, I need my outter loop to wait until a file is downloaded. What would be the most efficient way to do this?
