I have a panel on an MDI form which is scrollable by the user with scroll bars. I would like to know if there is any way this could be modified so that the user could drag the panel with the cursor? If so, can you supply the correct event and code?

View 4 RepliesWorking on a DragDrop application. I have a class object (built as an object) which has a GroupBox that is enabled for DragDrop.
In the class I have set it up so that the cursor will change when it enters the groupbox, leaves the groupbox, mouse is down within the groupbox and drag/drop is working. I also set up a label in the class object and changed the text in that label as well. Basically, the text changes in the label as expected including 'FEEDBACK' appearing when I am dragging the object BUT the cursor stays stubbornly as a pointer. This is tghe state of affairs either when I debug the class or when, after I build the class, it is run as part of the main program.
Here are the subs set up in the class.

What I mean by high quality is: Rather than the regular arrow with a rectangle. I tried using e.Effect but that didn't do anything... Am I doing something wrong? Or is this just how it is in WPF.
View 1 RepliesI'm having trouble with my panels. I taught myself VB (and the other languages I know) so I don't know all the terminology, so bear with me. But I'm making an application, and in this application I have a set of radio buttons, and because I only wanted one to be checked at a time, I put them in a panel. The problem is, I want to add more stuff to the application (form?) and anytime I add something that is in the area of a Panel, it becomes part of that Panel.
This is all fine and good when you are trying to drag and drop something right into the panel, it makes it really easy. But when I'm trying to drag and drop something else in that area where the panel just happens to be, I don't want it to be in that panel. So how can I make it so the panel stops parenting my other items on the page? I hope that makes since.

I need to draw several line-graphics on a form, then select and drag individual graphics to new locations. Is it possible for example to give each graphic path an identity when drawn, then select any one (via mousedown, whatever) and link it to the dragged mouse co-ordinates until released? MS Visio has exactly this ability - can it be done in .NET?

And what i want to do is to make the picturebox 500x500.then make several buttons representing different images. and then make it possible to drag and drop several images in the same imagebox and move them around. and hopefully i can make a button for saving the coordinates of the images and the image paths into a text file.
I populate a listbox with locations search results, I then have 6 panels below the listbox each with a combobox containing all available locations. When a user is editing a given piece of data, they're allowed to add messages/comments. These are stored as child records in a SQL database. Clicking on the Add Message button brings up a panel (pnlMessage) courtesy of the AJAX ModalPopup Extender. This takes some input and, when the "Send Message" button in the panel is clicked (I learned the hard way to NOT make that the 'OkButton' property), the message is stored in the database and an email is sent to the intended recipients. No problem there.
However, I need to be able to allow the user to add new email addresses (so long as they are registered in our database). I have another ModalPopup / panel combo (pnlSearch) that's tied to a button on the previous panel (pnlMessage).
The user is supposed to be able to add an email or click on a search button to populate a list to choose from.
The pop-up panel (pnlSearch) comes up just fine, but clicking the "Lookup" button (which instigates the search and returns a collection of records that the user is supposed to pick from) closes the panel.
Previously, I ran into the problem of having the Button.Click event never firing when I put the Button into the "OkControlID" property (the CancelControlID works fine since I don't want to do anything). Removing the "OkControlID=Button" line allowed it to work perfectly with the Button.Click event firing as expected.
So now I have the Search panel with a button for "OK" and a button for "Search" - but the panel should stay up and visible after the Search.Click does it's thing. Am I missing some property that basically says "don't close the panel when this button is clicked"? Of course, if I bring up the panel again in the same session, the results from the previous effort are there (the search results).
I have a TopBar, A LeftBar, A VScrollBar, A HScrollBar and a Panel inside a SplitContainer Panel.The issue I'm having is that when my SplitContainer Panel is small enough to enable one of the ScrollBars, I will slide the ScrollBar and then when I resize the Split Panel, my Panel1 is staying where I scrolled it too.I'm having troubles thinking of the correct code to fix this.

View 12 RepliesI'm working on a visual studio 2008 VB.Net project (.net framework 2.0), and am having some trouble with the Panel control using a fixedsingle border. As a small example of the problem, suppose I have one Panel2 contained inside of Panel1. If the Left position of panel2 is set to 0 (meaning it's border is up against the left edge of Panel1), the left border will show as bold, and slightly indented.
