Currently have a program on the market and just did a major update which 100s of people downloaded, the problem is that that update had a major bug which made it crash. So quickly got to work to fix the bug but everytime I connect my software to the FTP database I get this Error Message:
"The underlying connection was closed: The server committed a protocol violation."
I triple checked my code. Everything is right One minute it was working the next minute it wasn't,My buyers are getting very frustrated and I've had to cancel all orders due to this., The bug in the update software which I have now fixed but this other bug to do with protocol violation.I havent tested if its just now my computer that the error messages comes up or it happens on others.I've tried 3 seperate FTP servers and all the same results?
For some reason i am getting this error when I try to upload to my ftp:The underlying connection was closed: The server committed a protocol violation. This happens at the GetRequestStream() portion of the code. here is my
Private Sub FTPUpload(ByVal p_FilePath As String, ByVal p_FTPServer As String, ByVal p_FileNameOnServer As String, _
I'm trying to upload a file to a web server through FTP using the following code...
Const MYFILE = "myfile.txt" Dim FtpFullFileName As String = "ftp://server/mydir/" & MYFILE Dim WebFullFileName As String = "http://server/mydir/" & MYFILE
I'm trying to send an XML snippet to my localhost server. I've been able to successfully connect and (I think) successfully send the snippet. However, when I run my program, I get an unhandled WebException. The full text of the exception detail is as follows:
System.Net.WebException was unhandled Message=The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLine Source=System StackTrace:
i have 2 application clinet/server the server broadcast media files to client i used tcp/ip protocol the server code is work good but i have a problem in client code i need ineed someone to correct the code .iwll show where the error is in the code note: i call the class in the main form dim a as recive in the starter of the main form class to be gloable .
I am trying to make an application which logs on to a server using the telnet protocol runs a couple of commands and stores the output of these commands in a text file. The problem is that I cant really seem to figure out how to negotiate the telnet commands. I have done a packet capture of a telnet session todifferent servers using a packet capturing program and I dont seem to find any fixed pattern. Every server negotiates the command in its own different way and in a different sequence, moreover the commands exchanged are not the same.
What I want to do is to exchange the bare minimum commands which will allow me to log on to any server via telnet, run my commands, take the output and logout.I have searched the internet for such a set of 'general' telnet commands but I wasnt able to find any.
I'm working with the Minecraft Server To Client protocol documentation for a server I am making. It says the packet is 18+ bytes, but I can't seem to figure out what each byte is for.
I have a procedure that is building a PrimaryKey based on values input from a CSV File. There are 4 fields that make up this PK. My code is below.
[code]...
For some reason when it takes the "IF" branch, it gives me the "Violation of PrimaryKey" Error. When I debug the 4 key values, the record does exist in the DB Table. Not sure why it's taking this path. I think I'm not testing the "row" object correctly.
A concurrency violation error? It happens on this statement:
CODE:
It thinks I'm using a key value of 1 when the actual value is really 1218. I'm using a command builder. The attachments show the value of the key value and the value of the update text values. By the way, I can insert data but not update it.
My problem is I need to develop a sales application to be used on 5 computers. The database needs to stay on a main computer and other computers should connect with that over LAN.I donot want to use SQL Server as it is too complicated to give permissions, setting up firewalls etc. for the end user.Is that any type of database that could serve my purpose, without giving sharing violation error?
I am working on a program whereby insert, update and delete of database is required, i have been able to do so successfully but the above error occurs when i tried to insert a new row of data into the database and tried to edit it and update it to the database. The database platform i used is SQL server 2005 and i am using datagridview to display my data, my primary key is "s/n" which is an auto number, however, whenever after i insert data into the database, the newly added row has the "s/n" column blank shown in the datagridview and after i edited that row and tried to update it, the error occurs.

I have a very simple database application where I have an underlying table connected to a form with a text box for each underlying field. I have added a databinding navigator, and then created a dataset and bound each text box to the dataset (all using the IDE tools in VS 2008 Pro). When I run the program, I can load all of the entries from the database, create new ones, and scroll through all of the entries (including the new ones), and make changes. The changes are kept withing the program, so if I make a change to an entry, then move to the next one, and move back, the changes remain, but when I look at the underlying database, none of the changes are in the database. What am I doing wrong? Is there some sort of command that I need to run to commit the changes to the database?
I am trying to change some properties with a property page during design time. The properties get set okay and the form updates (graphically) and the new properties appear in the property list, however they do not get written to the designer. If I close the form I am on and then reopen it the changes have been purged. However, if after I make a change with my property page, I manually change anything on the form, then it knows it is dirty and commits the changes to the designer.
I am new to VB Studio.Net 2010 and trying to learn how to use it by tackling a small project.I started a brand new project and created a blank form with the following code. It is linked to an encrypted SQL Server Compact database that has two tables, tblComports and tblParams, and I have allowed the password to be saved with the connection string. The code seems to run without a fault and the message box pops up showing "256", which implies to me that the records were added to the table and should have been committed to the database since I re-issued a Getdata() after I issued the Update. Yet when I select "show table data" for tblComPorts from the Database explorer for tblComPorts it is still only an empty table.
To further confuse me I added a DataGridView control to my form and linked it to tblComPorts. When I ran the code first time it confirmed my failure by showing me an empty table. I ran it a second time and the table was filled. Now every time I run it the
I'm using Visual Studio Development Server (Visual Basic 2010) and it works fine. Now I've enabled NTLM Authorization because I want to test the website using a different user account. Now when I try to access the website I always get the following error page:
Server Error in '/' Application.
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden.
Version Information: ASP.NET Development Server 10.0.0.0 .I'm using a test account which is a normal user within our domain. I've already set the access rights in my project folder to Full Access for this user but it does not help.
When I deployed my project on a server, in certain circumstances, I get an error page that indicates I should create a custom error page. I was wondering how exactly I would implement this custom error page the server asks for to give me a precise and helpful message or preferably, how I would get the error to just display on the main page? This is the error message I got below
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
I have several programs that I wrote in Visual Basic.net 2003 that I run from a server at work. We upgraded to Visual Studio 2008 recently and I converted my code to that version. I rebuilt the .exes and tried to run it from the server. It said I needed to upgrade the framework on the server, which I did. Now when I run the .exe file from the server I get a runtime error:
Runtime Error! Program: d:... This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applicaiton's support team for more information.
These programs are very important to the day-to-day operations of the company I work for. I did backup the software before converting it, so we're running normally right now, but there are modifications and upgrades I need to make as soon as possible, but cannot due to the programs crashing when I run the on the server.
I'm developing a filetransfer app in VB.Net..The sizes of the files vary, but can get up to 10+ GB.I already create a chat app as a test.On the clientside I run this code to connect to the server.[code]Can I also use this to transfer files?I want the app to work through a firewall and stuff. So I think I need the outgoing data on the client to go through port 80. On the server I want to be able to receive the data on another port (E.g. 8888). Is this possible? And final question is. What protocol should I use for this purpose TCP or UDP.
I've uploaded in SkyDrive my project to give a better picture of my problem:Cascading Combobox works just once in _SelectionChangeCommitted, and, DataGridView do not follow 3rd Combobox filter?
I am running my application and at random times when it is unable to connect to the database I get an error saying "A Transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider, TCP Provider, error: 0- The specified network name is no longer available.) How can I stop this pop up from coming up? It comes up every once in a while and I want to disable that.
