I have been able to export data from a query to the xlsx file..howerver those fields which are currency in my sql server 2005 table are currency are showing up in the spreadsheet as text. The column mappings are correct when I look at it in connection manager.

My question is simple (the answer may not be...), What I am looking for is a way to save a file as an encrypted file (so know one can open it except in visual basic or a way to save it with a unique ending that only visual basic will recognize. This is going to be used in a game I am working on (and yes...I know visual basic isn't really meant for games, but it is coming together pretty well). I was originally going to have it save as a text file, but then everyone could open, read it and even change there stats. That is what this file will contain, the stats for their character, and when they load it, it will place the values into the correct spot.
I am a partial beginner or intermediate coder, I can understand code, I just don't know all there is, like saving and loading, and this is probably a little harder.
Is it possible to embed a picture into a form? Because when I use the picturebox, I dont like to use a website, cuse if the pic is viewed a lot of times, it gets deleted from the hosting site. View 7 RepliesI am looking for some guidance with the most optimal or efficient way to export a dataset to an excel file. I have searched the forums and found a number of methods to do this. However, the code I am currently using is very inefficient as it is itterating through the rows and columns to create the excel file. The app I am working on needs to be able to create 50 or so excel files each with 500+ rows and 40-50 columns. This method seems to inefficient for my use.
I have seen some code out there to use an ODBC call to excel to create the file. I am wondering if someone can verify that this is the most efficient way to meet my goal. It should also be noted that after the export I will want to do some basic formatting of the sheet. Adding bold column headers, autofilters, and autofit all columns.

Maybe in a picturebox or something. But it needs to be the current picture on the web browser.

has anyone come up with a with a way to save a treeview without using a BLOB, I have some items that are 8-10 levels deep on it. if I could export it to xml and back again that would be ok, I need to store its info in a databse cell set to memo. but I need to inport the text from the cell and insert it back into the treeview, then when I save i need to save the data back into that cell.
