the problem is that Textbox15.focus() select the text inside the textbox. i wish to give that control the focus but place the cursor at the end of the text, with no selection.

Oct 31, 2011I am trying to develop a HANGMAN game and i need to implement a button where the user can click on it to "buy" letters. So, i designated 2 text boxes (one visible containing stars and another one not visible containing the word that should be guessed), and i wrote the following piece of code so that once the user presses the button any of the stars will turn to the correct letter. My question is, i found the index of "*" and removed it, and now i want to insert the corresponding char with this index (WordInLetters). How can i find what char is at index "index" in vb.net?

Aug 31, 2010I have a 500K+ lines vb.net app, written by 10+ different devs over the past 5 years. Many times it gets the system time and/or date and relies on it.Now I have to re-run real cases thru the program for regression testing purposes, and it screws up cases where the date/time matter. My fix is easy, just replace all the areas in the program that get current date/time with a sub that gets the current date/time, UNLESS I'm testing, in which case it will return the date/time of the original run. I have tried searching the sourcecode for the obvious 'current date/time' functions:

Date.ToDay
However, if I miss one, I LOSE.list more ways to get the current time, that might be hidden in the source code, that I can search for? Note: It's pretty clear none of the 3rd party libs in this system are returning date, well, one is, but I've caught it.
Datagridview Selection Via Cursors?
Feb 15, 2012I have a vb net program that shows a datagridview which pulls data from a mySQL database. When the user clicks on a row (I am checking for a 'cellclick' event), a text box is filled with data from a hidden column in the datagridview. This works fine and runs without error, BUT...When I use the cursor keys to move the selection up or down, the row highlight changes, but doesn't update the text box. I realise that this is because I am looking for a 'cellclick' event, but I don't know how to look for cursor keys as well.
Please could someone tell me what event I should be looking for to capture input via both mouse click and cursor. I have changed the program so it updates the second dgv on 'selectionchanged' but this crashes at run time with an InvalidCastException.Alternatively, is it possible to stop the user using the cursor keys?

The whole point is to use the "<" & ">" buttons to move the cursor left and right. When you do, it highlights a single character as it moves. Then, once you select a color button, it adds a special character BEFORE the highlighter character.
Ex: Help = He^6lp ^6 being one of the colors.

It has several backgrounds each one with a filled circle on it and they are positioned in a circle it self (a bit like the java wait thingy). What I would like is instead of an OK or Cancel button, I'd like a Insert Above, Insert Below, or Cancel button. My current workaround is using a second InputBox so after receiving the record name, this box asks to place it above or below. It would be much easier for the user having a single InputBox that takes the record number and having the three options, above, below or cancel.
