Recently I implemented an interface which had some 130 members that i should implement (C#, but i think thats irrelevant).How can i generate the stubs for all those automatically, in VS 2008...If its not possible in VS 2008, i've also installed Coderush Express, can some one guide me on how to do that with CR Express ?

Does someone know of a FREE tool that can recieve the path to an assembly and then output unit test stubs with matching signatures for the assembly.
Any configurable options like "public interfaces only", "test framework choice", "language choice" would be a plus.
I created a project using Visual Studio 2008 Express and I use the Menu tool called Build. There are two selection for the express (Build and Publish).I used the Build and found an .exe in the "bin" folder and the "Debug" subfolder. I am able to double click this .exe file and the program executes.
If I move this .exe file to 2 levels up on the directory, the .exe starts with my (modal form) and then it hangs. how I can make an .exe file that would execute in a different level?

I mean once the server accepts a client, stats of that client is shown on a new panel but has the same contents as the existing panel. Any Idea how to do this? I was thinking to make a set of panels and hide them if there's no client connecting but what if there are too many clients connecting more than the set of panels already made?

I've written COM-aware classes in the past just by checking the "Make COM-Visible" and "Register for COM interop" options in the project options. Is this explicit code simply unnecessary, or is it doing something above-and-beyond what those two options do? Here's a snippet:

I followed an example from a VB 2008 Wrox book on creating, binding and updating a data set but I am having a problem. The code is supposed to automatically generate the update/insert/delete statements for me (according to the book) but when I call the update command, the data is not saved.

After the form is loaded, I change the EntryDate field (which is a DateTimePicker) and close the form which should save the change but it doesn't work.
I'm using coderush with vs 2008. coding in VB.net. I don't see any evidence of Intellassist, all i see is the usual VS intellisense. Is this normal? Preferred? Do most people leave the defaults or do most/some turn off vs's intellisense? Does intellassist somehow argument intellisence?
View 1 RepliesI'm using VB.NET in VS2008 professional. Just installed Coderush Xpress 11.2.10. Code formatting and intellasist doesn't work. I tried Edit->Advanced->Format Document but VS keeps formatting in its standard VB way without coderush configuration. Intellasist never shows nothing. Even with intellisense deactivated in VS.

When the application is developed, we take the Release folder which contains 7 files and place in on the computer with a shortcut to the executable.My boss stumbled upon another integrator that has a single executable. They apparently can stick this executable on any computer and it will run. He says that the "visual basic runtime" is included in the executable and it "just runs".I know just enough about VB to do what I need to do and am not overly familiar with all the inner workings. I seem to recall VB5 & 6 having a single executable as long as the runtime was installed already.Does VB2005 have the capability of a single executable?

When I click build I want it to compile my InnoSetup installer and also zip up my executable + readme.txt file into AppName-version.zip. Right now I manually do it, and it's not that big of a deal, but if I am just wondering if it's possible. I think I can do it with full VS, so I will check it at work, but I am wondering if I can write a plugin or something if VB2k5X doesn't have an option do it already built in.

how I can implement my calendar with VB .net express 2008 and MSSQL 2008 Express. How do I get it to work with datasets, binding source etc.If I go to Properties>settings my connection string is:

I can Add the event to the calendar I have the necessary items on my form linked to my table and I can save them to my table:

I'm just using the default SQL Server Express in my vb 2008 express edition as my database server for my database operation. When I tried to update the records on my table I got a runtime error which indicates the error on this line 'myCommand.ExecuteNonQuery()'and it highlights a yellow background on it. The runtime error says "SqlException was unhandled: An expression of non-boolean type specified in a context where a condition is expected, near 'Number'. ".

I tried to start using VB 2010 Express with a program I originally developed with VB 2005 Express that I moved to VB 2008 Express successfully a couple years ago. It uses a database file (*.mdf) that is on the computer ( not out on a server). When attempt to run the program in debug mode, I get the following error "An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file C:Documents and SettingsTomMy DocumentsQuizzing StuffQuestion Database 2010QuizQuest ionGameQuizQuestionGameinReleaseQuizQuestionDB.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share."
I first made a copy of the entire project folder that was working in VB 2008 Express and gave it a different name. In VB2010 I opened the project in the copied folder and it said it successfully converted the project. I am able to open the Data Source inthe Designer and see the database structure as I expect. I think the project is still using SQL Server 2005 Express (because it is what is checked in the list of prerequisites on the Publish tab).
Note, I have programmed off and on for many years, but fairly new to using databases and SQL Server.
Here is the scoop: I am trying to make a user account SQL database work with Visual Basic 2008 Express for login purposes, i.e. usernames & passwords. Plan is to host this server so people can login to use the the application and verify they have a valid account. I would like to host all the account information in SQL due to the possiblity of hundreds of users at any given time. I also need the ability to add data to the database for users registering for the first time. The SQL server will need to be able to access the SQL Server databases remote via WAN.

I have a database with several tables, which I created using the designer. I am able to connect to the database and select data and display it in textboxes etc in vb code. What I have not been able to in code is to INSERT rows DELETE rows or UPDATE any data in the tables. I can do any of these operations using the Query Designer, but I want to do it in code. I can post some code if necessiary, but I thought it might just be some property that I had not set in the designer.

Both software have been installed and running locally. I'm trying to connect to the database from VB 2008 Express. Database connection wizard have 3 options:

I have SQL 2008 Express and Visual Basic 2008 Express runing on XP Professional SP2. When I select add new data source from VB I don't have the option to connect to SQL Server 2008 express to get at the to SQL Server Database. I also notice that the OLE DB connector is not availble as a data connector. Can somebody please confirm that VB 2008 Express can connect directly to SQL Server 2008 Express and how I can achieve it.
