Below is the code I have been working on in VB.NET What basically happens is that when the user presses the calculate pay button, a message box is supposed to appear with all of the information in it, however the error comes up with: 'InvalidCastException: Conversion from string "Total pay: 5" to type 'Integer' is not valid.'
Public Class Form1 Dim TotalPayWithoutOvertime As Integer Dim HoursWorked As Integer Dim DoubleRate As Integer
I am really confused! My program doesn't work if I don't have Visual Studio here in my PC. To test it I have uninstalled Visual Studio. But my program doesn't work though Flash Player is present there (I have used Flash animation in the first form).
To be more sure about it I have installed Flash. But it's not working! That means the Flash animation file (.swf) is not making a problem! It needs support from Visual Studio to start. Doesn't it mean that some files are not attached with a setup file as a result it needs Visual Studio to run? Let me tell you how I create a setup file of my program.

When I click on the icon of my program it shows the error message

create a message box that stores my user name, message, and post datetime into the database as messages are sent. Soon came to realise, what if the user changed his name? So I decided to use the user id (icn) to identify the message poster instead. However, my chunk of codes keep giving me the same error. Says that there are no rows in the dataset.
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim name As String Dim icn As String Dim message As String
how to create an error message by message box to tell the user to enter a number only if they key in a character value?
I MEAN AFTER THEY PRESS THE CALCULATE BUTTON
Private Sub btnCalcFat_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCalcFat.Click Dim intFat As Integer intFat = Integer.Parse(txtFat.Text) lblResultDisplay.Text = txtFat.Text * 9 End Sub
I found that when group by multiple values does not work well with VB.NET, but it works well with C# ,here are my code, is there something wrong with my VB.NET Code? Here is my VB.NET code:
I am using Visual Studio 2005 for coding. I am doing an exercise where I have to create a data lookup program. The program is to illustrate the concepts of using a database to look up information based on user input. The program allows a user to input two search criteria for a product search. The program then displays each individual search result, or record that meets the search criteria in a message box. I am not getting the message box and I don't know why. No errors are present during compiling so I have no indication as to where the problem is.

I have an application that requires data be entered, and after entering, a button is clicked to process that data. Clicking the button works just as it should--the data is processed properly. In constructing a test module, I provide a set of data values, followed by:
btnWhatever.PerformClick()
Nothing happens. I have used this syntax for years, and it has always worked flawlessly. I have triple checked everything else and isolated the problem to the failure of the PerformClick(). The PerformClick() is in a test subroutine that does nothing but fill textboxes and labels with default data, then calls the PerformClick() on the button to begin processing. Again, the button works fine, the data is entered as it should be, but the PerformClick() does not fire the click event.
I have a form that works on my local Machine I created into. I have Office 2007 on this machine. I created the Form with the Excel 12 Reference. I move the Entire conetence of the Project folder to my work computer. Which has Office 2003. Do I need to recreate the form with the Excel 11 reference. I could not get the form to work on work computer. IT has a com error. I am acessing the EXE for the debug folder w/in the Bin Folder.
I am sending a DDE message to a client using System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(item) . However, before the message is actually sent, I would like to get the message coded where if the item="Ask" then item=Ask (string variable) and so on. The code is:
Protected Overrides Function OnRequest(ByVal conversation As DdeConversation, ByVal item As String, ByVal format As Integer) As RequestResult ' Return data to the client only if the format is CF_TEXT
I'm using vb2008 with DB MSA2007 (save it to MSA2003) on Seven(7)System After I create my project I build it(make exe). then I took the file of project (application) and the DB from Debug Folder.
I tried to run this application with DB on another computer it's system is seven and MSA2007 and work very well. then I run it on pc it's system XP and MSA2003. it showed this error
Application Error THE APPLICATION FAILED TO INTIALIZE PROPERLY (0XC000135). Click on OK to terminate the application
I'm making a simple decoder. Type a message in the "message" text box and it spits out a code in the "code" text box. If you pop a code into the "code" text box it spits out the message in the "message" text box. Seems simple, right? Well here's my problem. I typed "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" to test it and it will put a lowercase "f" at the beginning, put letters that aren't supposed to be in there in there, and replace what should be upper case letters with lower case. I commented out the code for replacing symbols because it seemed to work fine before I put them in the code but still the same result. I checked over the code to see if I mixed stuff up. Like I accidentally put the replacement for a lower case "e" as the replacement for a lower case "h" but I can't find anything.
I'm building a VB(2010) program to create the graphics for my laserprojector. The program works when I debug it in VB, but when I run the EXE program in the release directory, it doesn't work. The problem in the EXE program is theat I can't draw/view graphics in the picturebox..I coppied my whole program to a new VB project, but I'm having the same problem...In the original project, where the program works, there are no warnings or errors.
