Get An Error In The Query Builder - View The Data In Datagrid Control For The Stock Management

I use visual basic 2010 professional edition. I am working on a project on it with access on the backhand. i want to view the data in datagrid control for the stock management. I also want to setup a query in the query builder which will search the database according to the ID but i cant get it right i dont know why. i type in the form filter this: LIKE @ID + '%'. But when i click somewhere else, an error appears which says: Data type error in expression.

What I am trying to do basically is open an access query in a datagrid view and then be able to make changes to the datagrid and then save it back to the database.When I try to save:
Me.BindingSource.EndEdit()
Me.TableAdapter.Update(DataSet)
It says that update is not a member of the tableadapter... Why is that?

I am using Visual Basic 2008, and SQL Server 2005. I have a single-user client-server app (i know that sounds stupid, but its for future expandibility and also the fact that documentation was easier to find for SQL server than Access files).The app is basically a medicals records system.
In one of the tables, called 'visits', it stores the dates on which each patient visits the doctor, among other things like symptoms and diagnosis. Another table stores all the patient names and IDs along with other details, and a relation has been set up between the patient ID in the patients table and the visits table. So i dragged the visits table from within the patients table (to get only the visits for that particular patient), and dragged it onto the form to make a datagridview. However, the datagridview didn't seem to recognise MS SQL server's smalldatetime format, and tried representing it as a picture. When i changed the format of the column to text boxes, it gave me a type mismatch error (Inconvertible type mismatch between SourceColumn 'VisitDate' of DateTime and the DataColumn 'VisitDate' of Byte[].) That means, for some reason, it is trying to convert the smalldatetime data to byte before it shows it, which is leading to the error. How do i fix this?
Also, I remember seeing some option for using completely custom column types in the datagridview, but i cant seem to find it now. The options in 'Edit Columns' are very limited, but i would like to set it to a masked text box, or something with a fixed format. Can someone recommend a good column type for representing dates, and how to make the datagridview show that kinda column?

I have two text box(Start Value and End Value), one datagridview and a search button SQL script= Select id, ContactName from Customers where id between 1 and 5 I want a scenario where when I enter the start value 1 and end value 5 and click the search button it will run the above query and display the result in the datagrid view.

1. when i pick a value from a combo in next col of data grid which also have a combo should populate conditionally.
2.when i edit the cell having combo previous selected value is overwritten by first value of combo it should be if i select any value from combo but should not over written default as i click the cell. (edit mode is on click)
3.by pressing enter key cursor should jump to next cell in same row . means navigation should horizontally but should jump to first cell of next row if cell is last cell

I want to query an access database with variable data defined by the user. The "Search" criteria would be in a textbox. I made a query like
SELECT askID, Question
FROM chita
WHERE (askID LIKE 'Textbox10.text%')
and referring to this query as
Form1.ChitaTableAdapter.searchrec(Form1.ChitaDataSet1.chita)But id does not take the value of the textbox, instead it takes the Textbox10.text as a value. Is it possible to refer to it like this, or should I Linq?

I am trying to add datagridview control in my custom control but i failed.I started creating new project[windows custom control library], added datagridview control on it and also added a property naming "DGVMain" which refers to datagridview control.I compiled it.
While testing i find its properties like visible and other working but when i click on columns property it doesn't work. i.e i cannot add/edit columns into the datagridview of my custom control.
Did i miss any steps or do i need to add some more actions?

I am able to form the following query which is calculating the balance of Stock.

The above query is giving error as "Error at From clause". The query will calculate the balance of stock between interval of two dates and will display it in LIstview.

I am creating an application for a college assignment called "Quote Manager" - the idea is a writer can save his / her favourite quotes, then go back to them and be able to print them.So I had this idea where all the quotes are loaded into a datagrid view on the main screen of the program and the user can double click on the quote he / she wants to load.
I don't want any code given I would also post what I have got so far but at the moment I am at work.What I want is to know how to manipultate the datagridview control so when a cell is double clicked a saved html page will load from a database.

I'm working in VS 2008, vb.net. I have a data grid that is getting filled based on a store procedure. When I preview the datagrid, I will get 29 rows back. This includes rows that have NULL values in it. And that's what I need. But when I run the program, it will only return in the Datagrid 12 rows, the rows that don'r have any NULL values. Where or how can I change it so the DataGrid will show NULL values?

I have a datagridview control that will be used to allow the user to input records. The control uses a combobox column to select a type of service. There is a rate associated with the type of service that I then want to display in the grid. The user then enters a quantity and the last column mulitplies the rate and quantity to get a total. I have the combobox , quantity and total columns figured out but I don't know how to get the rate column to automatically be selected when the type of service is selected. Below is the code.... sets up the datagridview

I created a form with a datagrid to show data stored in an Access database. It shows the data correctly, using the code:

("compras" is the table name and "Comprasver" is the dataset name).The form also has 3 textboxes and 1 DateTimePicker.Then I created a sql query to allow the user to search within 4 fields of the table (field1, field2 and field4 get the data in the textboxes and field3 gets it in the DateTimePicker). The query looks like this: SELECT field1, field2, field3, field4, field5 FROM compras where field1 like "%"+?+"%" and field2 like "%"+?+"%" and field3 like "%"+?+"%" and field5 like "%"+?+"%" field4 is not an important search criteria, so I didn't include it in the query. Field1 and field2 are both string type. Field3 is a Date type and field4 is integer.Once I made the query, it automatically added a toolstrip with a code, which I cut and pasted in my "Search" button "click" event. The code looks like this:

But every time I try to search, no matter which criterias I fill in (even if I fill in none of them), I get an error message saying something like the conversion of the "" string into Integer is not valid (my Visual Studio version is in Spanish, so I don't know how to exactly translate the error message).It's supposed to let the user fill in one, more or all search criterias (all 4 search fields).I found out that if I delete from the query the two fields that don't have String type data, it works correctly. What should I do in order to be able to use the Date and Integer type fields as search criterias too?

i was wondering if there was something i can use in VB which will let me have some fields in the DGV query to automatically have the format of 0.0000? There are some fields in that query which require this format. The Crystal Reports that accesses it gives incorrect info without this format type.

in my first form i have a datagrid havng access 2003 as db. on my second form i have textboxes.

Once the data is modified in the application I neet to save it to an excel spreadsheet. I currently have the following working:1. i have this win form app that performs a database search of customer information. I have a datagridview, a binding navigator and a fill/addquery toolstrip with a toolstrip button and a textbox.Here is my query, i want to find all customer names like what i enter in the textbox
