Im creating a program that allows the user to query a database.ive got a listbox which will contain the table names of the attributes that were selected during the building of the query. How do i get the items from the listbox into a string (my sql statement) as im using this as my FROM clause?
View 7 RepliesI am using VB.NET (version 2008). I have two types of items populating in a listbox (checked listbox). For example: lets say one is type "A" and other is "Type B". Their names maybe same so if the user sees those items in listbox then he won;t be able to determine their type until he click on them and checks out its properties. I wanted that I add each item to listbox and colour them so that blue for example means type "A" is there and red means the other. So this way I will be able to know at a glance that how many item of what type is present. I guess it may not be possible to do that in a standard checkedlistbox. I am also using component factory's krypton controls which enhance the gui of an application. But I dunno if I can progress using that.

note ive tried more than string.compare does it have something with return false being at the bottom of the function. becuase ive tried adding an exit function once it returns true, but still I get returned with false to make it even more frustraiting the clipboard results are test/test

I have a listbox where the user can add items to it with the following schema "count, id".I want to take each item from the listbox,use the split function so I can "take" only the "count," part and then add the "count," part of each item into a string.I mean I want something like this:
user adds 3 items in the listbox:
1, 100

I want to make it,so a string can be formed, and contain the "count," part of each item which in this case is;

I have a listbox that gets populated with files paths based on search terms provided by the user. I want the user to be able to select multiple items on the listbox, and then be able to export the files listed to another folder. See the attached image for what I'm talking about.
The problem I'm having is that I don't know how to take the items selected and turn them into a string array. Everything else I can figure out, but this one has me stumped.
How would one code a button so upon cliking it items in listbox would sort either ascending or descending (depends on the button clicked). It mustn't be done with built-in Sort() but with a for loop for example. Tried to pseudo-code the solution to the problem, went as far as "store each listbox item in an array with a for loop".

I'm making an application that does some stuff involving the given subject, so this is very crucial to the completion and efficiency of my application.What I'm in need of today is simple (well, "seems" simple). I have one listbox that I want to populate with directories file's names. I don't mean the files inside the directories, but the names of the folders inside the directory.So, I have "c:empdog", I'd click on my button or whatever and search for the directory and I choose "temp", said listbox would show "dog".

Why is this code having the opposite effect? If It's checked in the checkedlistbox it's not check in my view, if it's not check in my checkedlistbox it is checked in the grid.
EDIT: More specifically. The CheckState.Checked is always the opposite. .Checked means it's not checked.

i have a list of items in a listbox and i want to move all of them into another listbox. I'm using a loop to do this but it always generates an exception anytime the loop's counter equals 2. Currently there are only three items in the former listbox. The first and last items are moved correctly except the second.[code]
