Forms :: Dynamic Controls Disposal - Only 50% Of Controls Removed?
Sep 17, 2010I have a query about dynamically added controls to a form. I have a series of buttons which are created and added at run time. I have a two drop down lists and two buttons which are created at design time. Button 1 creates a series of buttons called "Test 1.x" based upon the selection of the two drop down lists. This works fine and am happy with the logic.However.... Button two should remove all the dynamically created buttons from the form.This does not happen. What does happen is that 50% of the buttons are removed starting with the first one. WHen checking the loop it only enters the loop half the amount of times that there are buttons. Very strange. When the loop is run repeatability it will remove all controls. Why will my logic not remove all the dynamically created controls at once? What is wrong with my logic?

Iterate The Parents Hidden Controls Names, Get Their Handles And Then Activate Them One By One?
Aug 24, 2010I have an application and Spy++ reports that the parent window has many controls that are hidden. When I do a mouse click on the application's window, a number appears and I suppose it's the hidden controls that change their text/picture.So, is there a way to iterate the parents hidden controls names, get their handles and then activate them one by one (with sendmessage/postmessage wm_buttonclick) to see what changes?Right now I get the windows handle with FindWindow and the window's process id.

I understand that the problem is on the top where I've placed Const mForm1Name As String = "c:est.txt", but when I'm taking it out gives back a mistake. Also my form doesn't close when I save.
Manage Controls If There Are Many Many Controls Placed On The Forms?
Dec 10, 2006I would like to know how do .net developers manage a large window application with a large number of controls, such as textbox , button, groupbox? I have seen a number of people do it this way : declare the controls as an array and initialize them one by one at run time . In this way it is easy to manage those controls because they can be accessed by array index; but this solution seems to require very good understanding of control's attribute such as its location, font etc. This could be a difficult task if the project is passed on to a less experienced developer and add changes to it.How do you deal with it?

Feb 22, 2012I would like to set a style for an MDI WinForms application in .NET (mix of C# and VB.NET). I would like all panels and forms to be of a certain color. I would like textboxes to be of a certain color when readonly and of a different color when NOT readonly. I don't want to use defaults. Any pointers on how I can make this GLOBAL for any Form that is developed for this application? Am looking for a way so I don't have to do this logic in every form I create.
PREFERABLY: Don't want to switch to using any third-party tools. Would like to stick with just WinForms and standard .NET libraries.

XML Document To Store Queries / Stored Procedure Names In ASP Application
May 4, 2011I am having some difficulty with an xPath expression. I am using an XML document to store queries / stored procedure names in an ASP application. I use a utility function to load the xmldocument (if it isn't previously loaded) and I am attempting to select the node set from the document that matches an Id element. [code] the node variable only returns the first element. I have verified the that the qry string that is used to SelectSingleNode IS the correct Id value (i.e. USER002) - however the node is getting loaded with the USER001 element. It is obviously the xPath expression that is messed up. What do I need to tweak on the xPath expression so that I can return the correct <Id> element and corresponding child <Sql> element.

If I press the X button, the application closes fine(Goes from processes) If I were to open the application, and then navigate from the main form to another form using me.hide & form1.show, and press the red X on Form1, the application again, closes fine.

C# - Decompiling .Net Assembly Produces Code With Invalid Member Variable Names; Names Starting With $STATIC$?
Sep 5, 2011I am doing work for a client who has lost the source code for one of their VB.Net WinForms applications. The assembly they have is not obfuscated at all. I am trying to recover as much of the source as I can as C# source and have tried several tools for decompiling assemblies, including Reflector, ILSpy and JustDecompile (all the latest versions), but they all produce code with a huge number of errors in them. Because of the large number of errors in the generated code, I am going to ask about the specific errors (in different questions), get more directed answers and in this way try shed some light on why all the tools are having difficulty decompiling this assembly. This question pertains to the fact that the code generated by all these tools always have a large number of invalid member variables (fields) such as the following:

Apr 9, 2010I have the requirement to create an application that has multiple front ends developed using Windows Forms, WPF, ASP and Compact Framework Mobile Forms.I would like to be able to create a series of obejct representing the business logic and have this logic accessible from the various front ends available. My first thought was to use remoting as I'd like to be able to pass the business objects back and forth between client and server but the compact framework doesn't support remoting and also transferring a full framework business object to a compact framework business object doesn't seem possible.My next thought was to use web services but again the passing of business objects seems to be very hard to accomplish. Without doing this I would have to create individual web methods for each business operation.
Finally my next option is to use sockets and write the whole client/server logic within some classes and expose them to the UI/Business layer. My only problem with this is it is not scaleable should the number of clients increase dramatically whereas using remoting or web services I can host the solution via ASP.Net.Does anybody have an ideas on the best way forward for this or even have any input on how they would write an application that required a windows form, wpf, asp website and mobile device GUI all of which want to use the same business logic?

8 Bit GIF - Transparency / Forms And Controls
Apr 3, 2012I have a 8 bit Gif, that is transparent, with controls sitting on top of it, all in a custom control. This part works fine. However, This control is a menu ring (appears around another control with a few options). The transparent part is over a Picbox, that is in a panel. The transparent part of the image seems to skip the picbox and go right through to the panel. I set the panel to a back color of RED. The custom control when its placed instead of showing the image in the pic box that it is on top of, it shows the RED panel I have made sure all my Z orders are right.
