This is real strange. On my home computer I get the refreshed web page but on my office computer I get a cached copy. I should get a refreshed page every time right?

View 3 RepliesI have a WinForm program developed in VB.Net with Visual Studio 2005. The program needs Microsoft Office Runtime installed atleast on the computer to allow the application to run without any errors.
Is their a way to check the computer to see if the minimum of the Runtime or Microsoft Office is installed on the computer? If either isn't I would like to display a message to the user on the startup of the application that states to atleast go to Microsot's site (I have full link to Runtime Download) and download the runtime for free.
Or is their a way to include the runtime as a component with my install for the application so if it isn't installed on the computer already it will install when the application is installed?
I'm using VBE 2008. I have comboboxes in my DataGridView which is databound to a BindingList(of T). For some reason, when the DataGridView is loaded via me adding data to the BindingList, the comboboxes show a value of 0 until they are refreshed. Simply a mouseover will refresh them to the proper value. Why do they not show the proper value when loaded? The non-ComboBox cells show the correct value immediately.
The only thing is that the ComboBoxes reference data from other BindingLists, so they may be slower in getting their data. Do I need to put some sort of delay in before the ComboBoxes draw? Why are they drawing with wrong data in the first place? Alternately, if I can't figure this one out, I may need to refresh the DataGridView after loading. I tried that, but the trouble is, as the data comes in quite quickly, the DataGridView ends up with an annoying "flashing" as it's continually refreshed.

I have created a web application in that application i have added two folder. one is admin folder and under admin i have added a upload folder. In upload folder i have three different audio's. And also i have imported DLL for Windows media player. Through this media player im able to play the audios in local host.By giving Direct path like MediaPlayer1.Filename="C:Usersamwaka.mp3".But when i host the website im getting problem the page is getting refreshed but the audio is not getting played.I have tried this path Server.Mappath("..uploadwaka.mp3") and Server. Can a data grid in another open form be refreshed by calling a sub routine? This app has a form with 2 data grids. When the user double click on one of the grids another form is opened that shows data details. After the user changes the details the user clicks a save button. We have placed this code in the Closing event of the the details form.

I found that if you press F5 or refress from browser window, the last event fires again
example, I have clicked on a button, the button event is carried out normally, but if I refresh the page by pressing F5 key the same event is fired again.
The problem im having is that I have a table that when a user click on a button it adds a row to the table via javascript, which works fine. The problem is that if a user need to update other data the user click another button which refreshes the page and all rows the user created in the table are deleted. My question is what can I do to make the rows not to be deleted once the page is refreshed? I know some might think, just not refresh the page, but there is to much data that has to be displayed and a new query has to be generated to grab the data.

We have currently upgraded our development machines to Windows 7 and Office 2007. We have a vb 2008 app that references 2003 Office components to use for mail-merging to word.We loaded up our app in the vb environment today and were instantly greeted with missing components/functions which are related to the 2003 Office components. We can update these to use the Office 2007 components/functions instead, however we are unsure whether after doing this our vb app will work with machines only with Office 2003 on. can machines with Office 2003 on work with our vb app that references Office 2007 components?

Nos, i've got .NET 4 installed, and i've added the system.tsr and mscorlib.dll files as reference in, say, Excel 2007 (see screenshot).However, when i try to make a thread with anything as basic as "Dim Thread1 As System.Threading.Thread", i get a user-defined type not found error.Indeed, when i use the object browser to see what's in the System file, theres nothing remotely linked to any Threading, and in the mscorlib file, nothing under "Threading" either, just a few Thread related functions, but nothing defining a data type
I've developed shared addin for Microsoft Word. I distribute this addin with my application and using Inno setup for installation. The Inno setup installs my application and then runs "myAddin.msi" file in order to install addin.

Right now, in order to uninstall addin, the user has to to it manually through control panel.

I have used VB.NET and Microsoft Offices Interop to create an application that will run on a server and will print files for different users.My problem is that I need to find a way to impersonate different users so that when MS Word opens and prints, the resulting print job is recorded under that user. I found this link that lets you run .net code as a different user - unfortunately it doesn't work with this code. The username recorded is still the user that is logged on the server.Code Removed by moderator. I made the player in flash told it to download the video from the sever. Now when i put the player on the webpage and put the webpage on the sever it cant play the video. i have a task to create a TCP Server (a program that is listening on its network card interfaces for incoming data stream).I have search on the internet and i found that i can use two methods : Socket or TCPListener class.I have created an example for Socket class, but i wondering how could i test it? I need to check that if another computer in the network send some string data to the listener computer , then this message should be displayed.Here is the example from microsoft that i am using for TCP Server using Socket:

I am developing a computer application designed to monitor the network and CPU statistics on a computer remotely. The monitored computer would have my program installed and the monitoring computer would display, in a form, the information being sent from the remote client.The application does not send any information regarding packets, user names, passwords, etc. It is solely meant for monitoring CPU performance and Network resources remotely.
What would be the best method to send this information over to my host machine?I am programing in Visual Studio 2008 on windows XP. The client machine is also XP. I know this sounds a little shady, but it is required for my little business (http://www.iquorum.net) to monitor what and when something happens on our machines when I and my employees are away.
