Get Use Graphics In Data Dynamics.ActiveReports 2.0 Using .Net?

I am want to apply gradient color on textbox background in active report. For this I use graphics and use following code:

It works well in forms but in report not able to get object of Graphics by Me.CreateGraphics.

I need to add a DataGridView to an ActiveReports 3 file. When I add the control its not recognized as a DataGridView but rather a custom control. Can anyone help me get around this?

I'm using Active Reports within my VB program to generate a report based on my data. Right now I have the report opening fine and it is allowing the user to print, copy, find, etc. I am unsure how to add the functionality to let the user choose to export the chart once the program is running. I've been looking at many tutorials but there is always something that makes it unable to work in my program. For example this forum gives the exact code for what I want as they add an export button to the toolbar and then adds the functionality to the button. Unfortunately I am unable to access the toolbar. They access it with Me.Toolbar and I am unable to access it this way.Another forum here doesn't add the export to the toolbar and instead inserts it directly into the code but I'm not sure what to import to allow me to do it this way as my project doesn't recognize ActiveReportsPDFExport.ARExportPDF.
UPDATE: Found a way to export to PDF by adding to the ActiveReport in the design format a DataDynamics.ActiveReports.Export.Pdf.PdfExport and then calling from my code PdfExport1.Export(Me.Document, "D:KyraHELP.pdf")
Problem: This is called at the end of my function which opens the active report. I want the user to be able to choose to export the report and then be given the option of choosing the format and location where they want to save the report to.

I'm working on a web portal for customers that will connect to Microsoft Dynamics. I don't want to make Dynamics CRM directly a internet facing deployment (IFD), so I'd like to use a separate database that the web interface interacts with and then use web services to move the data between the web portal database and Dynamics CRM. I'm just looking for thoughts on whether this is the best way to proceed and whether there are any good code examples, etc. that I can look at for implementing this? I saw Microsoft has a Customer Portal but it looks like it requires (at a cursory glance) an IFD deployment - which I don't want.

I am about to commence a little project whereby using a forms based application to visualise temperature in a building over a day. I am using data loggers placed strategically around the building (these record temperature and time of the read). I am planning to use a picturebox with the buildings floor plan within it and on using a scrollbar (using time as the metric) scroll through the day with temperature being represented by the size of the graphics on top of the floorplan (these represent the location i placed the data loggers around the building).
I have already built a tool to digitise the location of the loggers on the floor plan (saves the data loggers id ref and x y coordinates in the picturebox back to an access datatable).I am planning to use loops on scoll to draw and resize the graphics in another picturebox. The data loggers could be many (up to 30 or more) hence i am concerned this might grind to a halt or become so staggered that it will cease to be useful.The question i would like to ask is is this the most efficient way of doing this or am i going down a dead end.

OK, this is crazy - How do I format text in a text box, (or god forbid) a grid, so that if it is a number it will align right, and if it is Currency it will have a $ sign. Do I have to define a Data Template? Every Template example online seems to deal with drawing borders around ListBox items, or showing photos instead of Strings,. I found 20 links, and not one talked about Alignment of #s or Currency.I'm new to WPF, and can only say that ease of use has gone to hell with WPF. Some things that were straight forward in Winforms are (IMHO) arcane in WPF (and I come from Delphi, which makes both VS Winforms and WPF seem like Rubik's Cubes).

I am struggling with VB.NET's graphics paradigm.There are several times in my code when I need to determine the width of some text. Under VB6 I would use the .textwidth() method pretty much any time I wished.Under VB.NET it appears that the paint event is the only place I can gain access to an initialized graphics object and from that the measurestring() method.

I have alot of text boxes across alot of forms in ASP.NET programming in code behind pages in VB. I want to ensurethe user does not enter such characters as ' " ( ) or any which could mess up the sql syntax the script makes, and with some will validate what they entered is of numerical value.
Now I know you can stop the text box allowing such characters in a Windows application, but cannot find for the life of me a way of doing such in a web application - and its not really viable to perform a sub-string check at the click of a button for every box

We have a GIS application that has some performance issues. It creates and sends an image to a web browser. We start with a Bing Maps imager, add complex polygons (complete with transparent fill), save the finished image as a PNG, and send it to the browser.
The idea has come up that we could possibly install a graphics card and use DirectX or OpenGL to improve performance. I believe this would be the case even though we ultimately generate an image instead of sending the data the the screen. I believe our processes could still make use of the API and the hardware acceleration it provides. Our process is not unlike what CGI film makers do to render individuals frames of a film, though we simply render a single image and send it, as opposed to the hundreds of thousands of images needed for a single CGI film.
So my question is: would a powerful graphics card and use of DirectDraw or OpenGL provide us a worthwhile performance boost? It can take us 20-30 seconds to render a more complex map. Which is a long time to wait on a web page...

I'm working on an ultrasonic sonar and I would like to use the computer to display a standard green radar system detecting the objects. I'm using a micro controller with the software written in C to send out the sensor's angle and position and it works fine.On the computer side, I'm using Visual Basic 2010 to read the COM port which then contains the sensor's data in numbers (sensor's angle and distance between sensor and object)which is a constant stream. On the debug screen (Textbox) I can already see all the data coming through.Now my question is: How do I convert those numbers into graphics?
More explanations about these numbers I want to convert:I have a step motor to rotate the ultrasonic sensor, and it works that way:The motor advances 1 step forward, then measure distance between sensor and object, then send these 2 values out.So, if you see the attached file, those numbers on the text box mean:
000032 -> 000: step number & 032: 32cm between sensor and object
001031 -> 001: step number & 031: 31cm between sensor and object
002032 -> 002: step number & 032: 32cm between sensor and object
003007 -> 003: step number & 007: 7cm between sensor and object
and so on...
So those are the numbers I wish to convert into graphics. The scan line would need to rotate clockwise at same speed of the step motor. And then I would like to display dots when an object is detected

I'm writing a program that replaces the old "BitBlit" function which is no longer supported by Visual Basic 2008. My tile-based map editor project. So far, it works really awesome. Here, look at a picture: [URL] And the screenshot is outdated: Now I got the Pencil, Rectangle and FloodFill tools too!, the tilesets are from that popular (well, not so popular) game engine called RPGMaker.
Currently, this is how the map is structured:
One ArrayList represents the X coordinates.
One ArrayList in each X represents the Y coordinates.
One ArrayList in each X,Y represents the tile.
The tile is an ArrayList containing three elements:
The Image name (Tileset01 in the screenshot), the X coordinate in the image, and the Y coordinate in the image. Those coordinates are from the TILESET01 image, not map.
Getting the idea?
How do you locate a tile in the map when it is clicked?
First I get the cursor's position on the map picturebox, then convert it to a multiple of 32 (the tiles are 32x32, yes), divide the position X and Y by 32. The results are the indexes I need to get to the tile I clicked.
That method works just fine for me.
When the map picturebox invalidates and needs painting... When that happens, I iterate through each X and Y arrayList. When I get the arrayList that represents the tile, I use it to draw on the map.
For example:
Iterating X arrayList.... step 8......
Iterating Y arrayList..... step 3.......
Found arrayList with three elemetns: ("Tileset01",32,96)
Draw image on the map picturebox, source is "Tileset01" on rectangle (32,96,32,32)... draw it on map picturebox's point (8 * 32) and (3 * 32)
And so on.
Now you understand how I am working with my map editor, how I am locating clicked tiles, and how I am drawing it. Everything goes fine, except for one problem: At some point, the user might want to make a 500x500 map.
That means, an arrayList with 500 elements representing the X tiles. Then an arrayList with 500 elements for each X tile, representing the Y tiles. Then an arrayList in each X,Y pair.
Then multiply that result by 5, because there will be 5 drawing layers. How am I supposed to handle such huge maps?! My app explodes when I set the map dimensions to 500x500! 500x500 is the max setting allowed in my app. I also know that 500x500 map editors are possible, because I have seen others before. With great performance.

ok, i know the code is a little rough, but it should be good to give you an idea of what im trying to do, if not i will still explain.simply draw 2 lines one from left to right, another from top to bottom, intersecting through the tip of the mouse.ok, theres no problem there the lines draw perfectally the way i want them.... BUT! now heres the issue im having.i cant get rid the previous lines.i did a bit of good old "Google'ing" and ran across a few links that all pointed me to the ReDrawWindow API, so i tried (as you can see in the above code) but i just cant seem to get it worked out.

So I decided to make my famous tile selector project, but instead of drawing in a form's graphics, do it inside a tabpage.Well, I managed to get it working, but it seems to... flicker.Normally, setting the form's DoubleBuffered property to True would help a lot there, but apparently, the tabpage has no such property.
When I invalidate the tabpage, I draw two images and fill one rectangle.Following past advice, those two images were created before, just once, and are stored in a variable so I don't create them every time I invalidate the tabpage.

My application is all centered around one form with lots of graphics drawings on it.All these drawings take place from within a paint event handler. However, the amount of code within that sub is becomming unwieldy.I have been trying to move sonme of it to another class and use the "dim temp as Graphics = e.graphics" construction to continue to draw graphics. However, I get all kind of argument exception runtime arreors when doing so (and I do not get these with the same graphics operations directly from the original paint event handler. I have also tried to pass on the original e argument, but with the same result.Is my conclusion that there is no solution to this so to continue with the unwieldy amount of code,correct, or am I mistaken somewhere. the "dim temp as graphics = e graphics" is recommended.

I load my picturebox with a jpeg. If I put my DrawObjects() sub into picturebox paint event.When ever a picturebox.refresh or picturebox.visible = true (vb.net seems to draw my DrawObjects() first, then load the jpeg Image over my drawing - erasing drawing) Is there a way to get the picturebox to redraw the jpg image first then draw on it, in picturebox paint event?

In a Previous Thread, I asked some questions about how to create graphics. Everything was OK, until I realized that the graphics are really slow. While I was trying to find out what the problem was, I realized that the processor load was about 50% and my graphics card was not used at all.
