I have written multiple programs in the past that deal with cad data. Points, lines, arcs, etc. For each program I ended up creating slightly different versions of some really base classes like a class that defines a point:
<Serializable()> Public Class Point
Public x As Double = 0
Public y As Double = 0
Public z As Double = 0
End Class
My question is how would I use that class in such a way that it could be in a namespace and imported into any future project that I write?
I've created my own ascx control with button inside it. Now I'm using this control inside other control. (In my case it is a webpart). What I would like to do is program button.click logic from my custom control inside webpart

View 4 RepliesWhen I cut some controls in designer window and paste them in some other container, handles keywoards dissapears from code.
If I have btnOK on form and click event handled like this:
Private Sub btnOK_Click(...) Handles btnOK.Click
and then in designer I cut the button and paste it somewhere else, Handles part just disappears, living the method.
I understand why this happens, cutting like this is like deleting the control but silently removing parts of the code is not nice behavior from editor.
Is there any workaround, preference or plugin to add some warning before messing with my code? Or even better, to keep handlers and leave removing to me?
I know this probably doesn't belong here, but on my computer, most of my stuff is on a user that is not my name. I got the computer from my friend named John and the user I have all of my stuff on is john. If I change the username is it possible that things coulds get messed up? Like could it make programs not be able to find certain files?

Now I know that when we create a form that we actually create a partial class which the generator rewrites when we add a control or change a property at design-time, and this allows us not to have to worry about setting up the controls ourselves.

I started with VB 6.0 back when i was 14, I was mostly into coding programs that interacted with other programs. Recently I installed VB.net 2005 pro i got from school, and i grabbed few source codes that teach show interaction, I feel so dumb, i dont remember anything lol. It be great if you guys can share some source codes and other stuff in this field. also other day i was in dream spark and i am able to get copy of VS.net 2010 ultimate edition, are there a lot of major changes, cause i got 2 thick book for VB.net 2005..

What sites would you post your program on and getting the word out that there is a new program on the block and it does xyz. This is directed to freeware so there wouldn't be any advertising.

Everything seems ok while I create the control code, through to the compile (which is successful and adds the control to the toolbox) and dragging the control from the toolbox to the GUI surface. How can I structure my classes so that the user interfaces though a single class while the supporting classes are hidden from their view? I think its best understood in an example:
Public Class MyInterface
Public Economic as EconomicClass
Public Sub New()
MyBase.New()

So you might ask why am I even separating them? It's strictly for others who will be working with this interface. I need to funnel them though a logical structure:
interface.Economic.MyMethod
interface.Currency.MyMethod
etc
This way everything is already handled for them in the background and they only need to run the method they need. I don't know if I can have it both ways in VB.NET.
I working on a VB.NET project to manipulate a VB6 form using COM Interop. Some of the controls on my VB6 form are indexed and some not, so calling ctl.Index fails on those that have no index. Is there a way to work out if a control is indexed?

I was thinking I could do something like this:

...but that doesnt work to be able to set properties and call methods. I somehow need to get the user control and and declare it as that user control type.
I wanna know if the user is holding the control key or not...there was a class for all this, what happened to it? where did it go?btw wasnt there a way to get information about hardware, such as monitory, keyboard, etc using the .NET classes?

I have a control into a html div in this way: <div id="FilesUploadedAttachment" runat="server"></div> that's part of a page called Donations.aspx)that allows you save info, (this page have a master page) After fill all needed fields, the user can attach a document pressing a image button and the document (link) appears in the control "FilesUploadedAttachment". When the user press save button I validate all required fills git a routine called ValidateFields in ohter module. The problem is that i need validate if exists something into this div, but until this momment i can't find this control, only can find the controls of the master page but no the rest so first, is possible do this and if is possible, how i can do. I let you the routine that i have been used for do that. I'm using IE6 and framework 2.5
