I'm trying to figure out how to get a query for multiple columns in my dataviewgrid.. So far i havn't even been able to make a single column query work, when i search something in First_Name for example, it returns nothing. ive used query builer, ive written the code myself, nothing seems to work.

i have six textboxes from which the user can query the database. Now the user can decide to fill all the fields and query this i have done using AND OR in the sql syntax but the problem is when he decides to leave some blank my program is throwing an exception how can i skip the blank fields and only execute the WHERE clause for the filled boxes.

The following data is created by joining two sql tables together:I would like to group together distinct rows of DateStamp/UserName/ StudentName/ InstructorName/TableName/PrimaryKey (I'll call this 'group records') and then group under these ColumnName/PreviousValue/NewValue (I'll call this 'subgroup records')The end result would be that I could iterate through the 'group records' - there would be 5. In each 'group record', I could then iterate through the 'subgroup records'. i populate a datatable from a join query.i have one table called GameSheetTx which has 5 bit columns for days monday to friday.now when I want to create a new GameSheet I cant join to GameSheetTx as there will be no records for the Parent GameSheet. Headers: Lorem, IpsumName1, IpsumName2, ..., IpsumNamen

Each row represents a group of Lorem value and the number of each possible IpsumID in the group. New rows can be added to the IpsumTypes table, rows can be deleted too, so I need dynamically generated columns, because at the time of writing the code I'm not aware of the possible values of Ipsum. How can I achieve this? Is there a magical Linq query which solves this problem, or should I get the values from the database and parse them separately, if speed counts?

The problem was that the DataSet does not support Nullable-Types but generates an InvalidCastException if you query any NULL-Values on an integer-column. The modified LINQ-query from dahlbyk works with little modification. The DataSet generates a boolean-property for every column with AllowDbNull=True, in this case IsfiChargeNull.

I have put my business logic in a partial class as suggested in best practices. One of the conditions is that one of four fields of a row has have a value. Setting the errorprovider has no problems when creating a new row in the new row event. All the textboxes in the form show the error condition.

i just finally got my code, with the help of you guys, working to fetch column values from my database and display it in a ComboBox.
Now i am thinking to myself that simply displaying a customer's surname just is not enough due to repetitive issues etc. What i propose that i should do is have multiple column values in a the combo box. For example
