i populate a datatable from a join query.i have one table called GameSheetTx which has 5 bit columns for days monday to friday.now when I want to create a new GameSheet I cant join to GameSheetTx as there will be no records for the Parent GameSheet. I still want 5 columns in my datatable for day1 to day5.how can i change this query to show 5 bt columns: [code] also how can i set the rowstate to datarow.Added for all rows in the datatable.

i have six textboxes from which the user can query the database. Now the user can decide to fill all the fields and query this i have done using AND OR in the sql syntax but the problem is when he decides to leave some blank my program is throwing an exception how can i skip the blank fields and only execute the WHERE clause for the filled boxes.
It is returning all the columns by id. I need only the primary key. When I add the following line it is empty: WHERE SIK.indid = 1 Why is that? Is there other ways to do the same thing and working? Since I am in the rush

I only want specific columns to show up in my DataGridView, so I run a dynamic sql query to select specific columns from a table on a sql server(I know its slow, but its only used once a day). The following data is created by joining two sql tables together:I would like to group together distinct rows of DateStamp/UserName/ StudentName/ InstructorName/TableName/PrimaryKey (I'll call this 'group records') and then group under these ColumnName/PreviousValue/NewValue (I'll call this 'subgroup records')The end result would be that I could iterate through the 'group records' - there would be 5. In each 'group record', I could then iterate through the 'subgroup records'. I have 10 Comboboxes in a form. All these combo boxes have databound items which come from the same column in a table in the database (access 07) (Am designing a billing software, and these comboboxes show the items (10 lines of them).All these combos reside in one Groupbox.Now for the strange (scary/funny) part, whenever I change a value of 1 combo, all the other combos change automatically and show the same value as the one that was changed. (strange!).
I'm working on a simple base form in which all the other forms in the project will inherit. This base form only adds 5 properties (at the moment) dealing with painting a gradient background. The problem I'm facing right now is when I change a property on Form1 (the test form) and click run it doesn't show that change. New rows can be added to the IpsumTypes table, rows can be deleted too, so I need dynamically generated columns, because at the time of writing the code I'm not aware of the possible values of Ipsum. I get a "Conversion from type 'DBNull' to type 'Integer' is not valid" in query.ToArray(): Dim filter = _ String.Format(Services.dsERP.ERP_Charge.idChargeColumn.ColumnName & " IN({0})", String.Join(",", query.ToArray)) So I could append a WHERE RMA.fiCharge IS NOT NULL in the query. But how to do that in LINQ or is there another option?
The problem was that the DataSet does not support Nullable-Types but generates an InvalidCastException if you query any NULL-Values on an integer-column. The modified LINQ-query from dahlbyk works with little modification. The DataSet generates a boolean-property for every column with AllowDbNull=True, in this case IsfiChargeNull.

I need to get a table on my Form that has different columns from differen tables.As I call many tables by their Identity ID, I also need a way to show the information from that table.I created a query in my TableAdapter which selects information from 2 different tables. Tested it in the query builder and all was OK.I tried to put an empty DataGridView onto my Form and inserted the correct BindingSource for my Data Source.I then added a query and selected the query I created in my TableAdapter.

current query result I got only one result back because I have (2) William NoMan record in every table. But I don't get anything about others, like (3) Sync Master who has everything but RoomId.What do I need to modify the query above so it will give me all students like in the wanted query image above?
I am using Visual studio 2008 trial edition and SQL server to make a VB.NET app. I have a windows form which i use to add information to a database, by using a dataset. I recently increased the precision of a column using SQL server manager. I went from numeric(8, 4) to numeric(10, 6). I have my datatable's column set to system.decimal with a maxlength of -1. The problem is when i try and add a row using my program, the column now truncates the values as if it was still set to numeric(8, 4). I have checked my controls to make sure they are not truncating. I am currently creating a row and filling it with values and then adding it to the dataset and then updating the dataset. When i look at the locals during run time the row has the correct truncated value before and after i add it to the dataset but the truncated value is getting added to the database. I have tried manual entering data that is to large for the numeric(8, 4) and the database excepts it. It seem like the dataset does not realize the database has changed.
