I have a windowform and in my form , have a text box & a button.I write a word in textbox then click on button. I want open a pdf file and find and highlight words that I write in textbox.how to open pfd and find & highlight words in it by vb.net?
I've got a simple textbox and as the user enters text in the textbox I display a label below with matching words (to what they are typing). When they click the DOWN or UP arrow I highlight one of the words below in the label.
I have a datagridview and the user wishes to key some text in a text box and press a find button. The text to be looked for could exist in any columns in the grid (I want to exclude hidden columns). The search is to start at the row the user is currently at. If it gets to the bottom of the grid and still not found the the search would start from the first row of data.
If a match is found then the row with a matching value is to be highlighted.I've looked at using the position and find properties of my binding source but I think this will only let me find on one column and only from the top?Do I need to programmatically loop through the rows in the datagridview and search for the text or may there be a better method?
I have a small code and i want to highlight not only one found item in listbox but to highlight all items found under typed keywords.
Example: i typed vb.net programming and i wanna to find it all keywords under these names and highlight only those sites and put those keywords in textbox2 from textbox1.
I want like this:
Here is the code.
For i = 0 To ListBox1.Items.Count - 1 If ListBox1.Items(i).ToString.ToLower.Contains(Trim(LCase(TextBox1.Text))) Then ListBox1.SelectedIndex = i
It even indicates if the string I'm seeking is in the middle of a line. But what I would like is for the routine to highlight the line that that string is in and ensure visible. I can do that with another routine that uses an integer, but then the whole string(line) has to be the searchString. I've tried combining the two and even calling a Private Sub but with no success:(What is the best way to do this? Also, how do you get around doing it when the searchWord in in several lines?

I have a huge text in a RichTextBox. There are few things in that text that I want to pick up and add in a ListBox. Each words I need from that text box are not identical but has got some identical keyword before and after them. Let me give you a sample...
Here, I need to pick up the words, "BERGERPBL","BEXIMCO", "BEXTEX". They have got identical word "displayCompany.php?name=" before them and "' class=" after them.So how would I do it. I need a code in VB.NET. I use visual studio 2010. Remember, this is just a short sample. The real document is far larger.
P.S. Upper cases are not applicable. Because they may also be in lower cases.
I have the following macro that will find a word in a document, then 'bold and cap' it. If I want to find 50 words in the document and do the same thing, I can just copy the macro 50 times. Is there an easer way to do this?

Hi,I need to see if a webpage displayed via the web browser control contains certain words .I've tried parasing through the html but that contains too much junk html and css tags which caused problems(I've tried using regex to remove them). That was done by using property webBrowser.document.Body.InnerText.contains .
Are any way to search through the actual text on the webbrowser and not html via the program in ways similar control-f function on most webbrowser but using code to do that ?

I have an HTML string and in that string are certain variables that I need to replace with database values. The variable names are dynamic but all begin with the characters "@@" (just two ampersands, no quotes). Is there a way to get all the words in a string that start with "@@"? I'm assuming you would use regular expressions, but not sure how to begin.

Upon my program startup, I need to see if an Excel 2003 file with a certain name is open and then control it (set a reference to it). Unfortunately, the path of the Excel file is not set; else I could just detect if that file was open. So I guess I need to somehow loop through all open instances of Excel; then once I set an Excel app reference to each instance I could loop through the workbook names... But how would one go about looping through open instances of Excel in VB.net 2008?

other than GML (Yoyogames.com Game Maker Language), I am new to the coding world. The only "major" project I have completed using VB is a computer calculator that exactly mimics the capabilities of Windows 7's calculator. Yesterday, I began a Chatbot program for my girlfriend. Lol. I have used the instr() function to answer most of the questions or answers which are typed into the textbox1. I find this extremely troublesome because when using the instr() function you cannot say instr(textbox1.
Public Class Form1 Dim fos As String = "Foster: " Dim ash As String = "Ashley: "
I would like to step through each *.txt file in a given directory, open it, find and replace all, perhaps a thousand, occurances of a given string (e.g. "00/00/00"), then close and save file, and step to next one in the directory to do the same find and replace. I've been looking at filestream classes and regular expressions but don't see a clear way to do this.
i am working on this exercise where i have to find suburbs with minimum and maximum percentage POS (public open space).i manage to get the minimum and maximum but i need a way to allow for two or more suburbs with same minimum or maximum..for example three subrubs ( suburb A, suburb B, and suburb C) all has same POS of 2%, then i need to list the three in the list box as minimum with subrub name(from my code i can get only one) with the maximum values as well( allow two or more suburbs with same maximum in a similar way)..below is the code.. i have removed some codes to make it read easy whi are not relevant.. i got POS percentage correct and i wanna start from there..
For intSuburb = 1 To pFClass1.FeatureCount(Nothing) 'SOME CODE HERE(this bit is long and is not relevant).............. dblPOSPercent = CDbl(Format$(((dblSumPOSArea / dblSuburbArea) * 100), "###.#0"))[code]......
I have never made a notepad like program just calculators and felt like learning how to link/find the parts to make save, open, format, and some other extras but I have NO code. I can't move on unless I know the parts needed and what the code for one of them is if I can link the save as button on the menu bar to the part needed to save I can figure the rest out besides the format that it saves in.
