View 4 RepliesBasically, I've got this plugin-based application I've used all the time in VS2008 flawlessly. In my current project (VS2010 by the way) I wrote a plugin for the application and whenever I try to use an instance of a particular class (in an external dll) from my plugin, I get an error.
I tried watching the instance and I got the message:
"Cannot find the method on the object instance."
in the watch window. This has never happened before! I also found that some of the extension methods in the plugin does not work.
I am using vb.net in vs2010.I can't find the Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS.dll. How do I add that dll to the reference?

I have just downloaded and installed both MS Report Viewer Redistributable 2005&2008 but I could not find it in the .net framework component. I am using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition, does it mean the express Edition does not support such component?

I retired recently from a job where we had VS2010 Professional for doing ourdevelopment. Now that I'm retired I can't afford "Pro" and cannot find the component than looks like this (see above). Is/was that component left out of the "Express" version? Do I have to "load" it (and, if so, what name should I look for)? I have recently downloaded and installed VS2010 evaluation copy. I loaded a VS2002 programme I have been working on and until today it compiled and ran fine. Now I get this error. "Error while trying to run project: Unable to start programme "c:CreateF1ScreensinCreateF1Screens.exe.

I use the following code to write to a Foxpro DBF. The SQL table I am reading from has 9500 rows. When I loop through the following code, I get an error after about 940 rows. There is nothing wrong with the SQL data. The message I get is 'Variable Q940P65 is not found'

I am a newbie coming from vb6 trying to rewrite my program in vs2010. I have a sudoku puzzle program which has 81 text boxes as input. In vb6 I used txtTextBox to reference the text boxes in an array. I have googled around and I dont seem to find any help on how to do it in 2010. Something similar which is array based would be nice.

When Visual Studio 2010 Express Edition starts , there is always a message (a splash screen or what so ever) saying : "Use of this software should be limited to evaluation purposes only" . What does this mean ? We must not share our programs (made with VS2010 Express Edition) not even when they are free ?

But it simply won't work. It always throws that exception and I don't know why. I tried debugging and it sad that the value of bundle is nothing. The error is on this line of VB For i = 0 To bundle.MessageCount - 1
The interesting thing is that it worked ONE time only. And after that time, never again. What's the problem?
im trying to install visual basic 2008 express edition, but when it gets to installing it starts the first part but comes up with an error which says "setup could not install the following component, visual C++ runtime pre requisites, I'm running on windows 7 and have tried to do a web install and i have tried saving the file on the computer and burning it onto a disk then doing a offline install, but that hasn't worked either. So what can i do to install it.
