Cursor To Appear In Textbox At Start Of Program?
Nov 5, 2009I need the cursor to appear in my text box when the program is started so you don't have to click on the box to start the input. I have been trying tons of different things, including the .focus() command and "selstart" and no matter where I put them, they don't put the cursor there when the program is started. So I guess my question is what code do I use and where do I put it so that the cursor starts in the textbox for input.

The issue I'm having is no matter what the user types in the program end. What I would like to happen is if the user types s, then the program starts over and lets the user perform another search. The program is procedural and I need to find a way to start back off at the top of the program which ask the user to type a name to search.

Jul 4, 2012I have my rpg, still, first time working on it n ages, and I want each user to be able to set their own personalized picture background for the game...
each character in the game has its own dedicated folder for each file that the character has relating to it...
what I want to know how to do, is to have my game copy the loaded/chosen background image to their respective characters data folder, and have the game reload/reset the games default background image, to the one piced by he player...I am having a hard time figuring out how to do this however...I've tried a lot of different things...and nothing is working yet...

In this mode the application start minimized and an little icon appear in the notification icon area. With this icon you can maximize the app or exit it.If you exit the app and start it again using the Menu (Start/programs etc) than the application start in minimized mode (and in this case I would like to have it in normal mode) because the setting autostart is still true.Is there a way you can detect when the application start when windows startup using the above registry or when people click on an icon in the programs menu (or desktop)?

May 4, 2011I'm doing, well trying anyway, a calculator that is well fitted for "us analogue/HAM Radio enthusiasts", with basic AC and DC formulas, and a search-engine.... And it's this search-engine that gives me a darn head-ace!I placed a TextBox object at the bottom of the form, and first I just had a Button and a Label, saying "try google?". And a LinkLabel and a Process.Start method.

And I then got in my head that it would be cool if I could add a second TextBox object and the user could simply type in the search-term and when the Process.Starter called i.e. IE6/7/8... would open google, and displayed the result of the search on google, in the browser..But how ever I try, I get only a browser to start with google's url or exception error, though I have a try/catch method ...What I want to achieve is a "google toolbar" on my calculator, I haven't yet learned how to use VB script and it's probably that which fault me..

My problem is when the user clicks on the empty box the cursor stays where they clicked it, not at the beginning of the box as it would with a normal textbox. I have found some suggestions but these all seem to affect the way the cursor moves within the box rather than just changing the start position. As far as the end user is concerned the box should behave just as any other textbox but with validation.
