View 2 RepliesAnyways, i have coded a video downloaded and i want to include a converter as a separate exe file. But obviously people may have different file directories so a simple piece of code i have used won't work. This is what i have: Also where would i place the exe file?

Under Visual Studio it's working fine but, when I try to publish on IIS it doesn't works. This is the situation: under my Website I created a Upload.vb class under App_Code folder that implements IHttpHandler, IRequiresSessionState. On web.xml I wrote this rows:
<remove verb="POST,GET" path="Upload.axd"/>
<add verb="POST,GET" path="Upload.axd" type="Upload"/>
On Page.aspx I added this code:
<FlashUpload:FlashUpload ID="flashUpload" runat="server"
UploadPage="Upload.axd"
FileTypeDescription="Images" FileTypes="*.doc; *.xls; *.pdf; *.docx; *.xlsx"
UploadFileSizeLimit="0" TotalUploadSizeLimit="0" />
I followed the sample and my class has not namespace. I read on internet that this error happens when IIS is not able to find the class.
I just can't get it to work. I have an array of bytes, read from a png file. I'm trying to write a (very) simple HttpHandler to render the image:
context.Response.AddHeader("Content-Type", "image/png")
context.Response.BinaryWrite(bytes)
context.Response.End()

We are trying to add SQL Reporting Services to a .Net 2.0 Web Application. SRS has been installed on the server successfully, but we get an error when we try to load a report or access the report manager:
Server Error in '/Reports' Application.Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately. Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'netGmrc' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
The error is being coming from a line in the web.config where an httpHandler called Upload.axc is being added to the web application. The entire httpHandler section is listed below.
<httpHandlers>
<add verb="*" path="Upload.axd" type="netGmrc.Upload, netGmrc"/>
<remove verb="*" path="*.asmx"/>
[code]....
When we remove the Upload.axd handler from Web.Config, everything in SRS works fine. What is the proper way to have Reporting Services work along side the web application with this httphandler?
I'm working on an uploader built with an HttpHandler. I would like to create a routine to handle all uncaught errors including content length error.
CODE:
It's critical that I handle any 404.13 (request exceeds request content length) error in the httphandler itself.
I would also like Page_Error to handle any uncaught exceptions but it never fires.
I have a webform application. The page has a from which contains a set of textboxes and one ASP:FileUploader. A button called "Upload" will uploaded the file separately from saving the whole form. I set up a httpHandler to upload files in chunks, and it should be fired after user click "Upload". They only way I worked out is set the PostBackURL attribute in the "Upload" button. e.g.

I have built working VB.net code that uploads multiple images to the server using Plupload. I am using an HTTPHandler (FileUpload.ashx) to do the uplading and want to add a SQL Statement that will insert each of the images File Names to my SQL Database. I have tried just adding the SQL to the Handler, but when I do I get 4 database entries for each iamge that is uploaded.
Pertainant HANDLER code:
Public Sub ProcessRequest(ByVal context As HttpContext) Implements IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest

I am trying to implement a Custom HttpHandler (for the first time), I have been given a tutorial to follow but couldn't get it to work. I then found another tutorial but couldn't get that to work, they are both giving me the same error message.
The custom handler is to protect people from downloading certain file types, although i think the error is somekind of configuration problem as I can't get the website to work at all once I add the httpHandlers to the Web.Config file.
Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'FileProtectionHandler'.
Source Error:
Line 47: </compilation>
Line 48: <httpHandlers>

I would like to be able to return the text generated from an httphandler and insert it into my web page during an onload event. There are examples that show how to return an image by setting the image source to the path of the handler. But how do you do this for just text as in the "hello world" basic template. I would like the text value of a label on my page to be set to "hello world", preferably withour using javascript.

View 7 RepliesI have a simple app that reads from a very large text file, and returns a value if a string is found. I can instruct users where to download the file, and where to put it, but it would be nice if I could embed the file with the publish, so that the program knew where to look by default.Getting users to download a seprate file is painful. This file has 1.4 milion lines of text. I really need it to look for the file in a predictable place and be able to run against that by default for most users. I can have experienced users browse for a new file, but most people aren't into that much thought.

View 1 RepliesI am writing a program in VB.NET in Visual Studio 2010 to edit web pages that allows the user to download, edit and then upload HTML files.
To download I use:
My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile(New Uri(strSiteFileName), strLocalWebSiteFolder & strFileName, "", "", False, 100000, True)
My problem is that if the file being downloaded is an HTML file that includes a <!-- #include file = [filename] --> line then rather than just downloading, the file that is downloaded and saved actually includes the 'include' file's text, not the line to include the file. I just want to download the file including the reference line.
For example
if a file named 'footer.html' is simply one line as follows:
<p>This is the footer</p>
and a second file named 'index.html' is as follows:
<html>
<body>
<p>This is the main part of the file</p>
[Code].....
Is this a feature or am I missing something? All I want is the basic 'index.html' file to be downloaded.

In my code I reference certain excel files by listing the paths and names within my code. I've herd that if I put my excel files in bin/debug/ then I no longer need the path and can simply refer to them by name. This has not worked out well for me. how I can add a file to my project reference it by name in the code and have it compiled with my program so that other's (without that paticular path) can use my program. I have also added them as an "Item" and have their properties referenced as an "Embedded Resource", but still no luck. Maybe i'm just calling them wrong? Below is my code....
Dim file1 As String = "C:

Dim hdrftr As Object
