I have a webform application. The page has a from which contains a set of textboxes and one ASP:FileUploader. A button called "Upload" will uploaded the file separately from saving the whole form. I set up a httpHandler to upload files in chunks, and it should be fired after user click "Upload". They only way I worked out is set the PostBackURL attribute in the "Upload" button. e.g.

Problem that I have is this: I need (somehow) to kick off a button control from the javascript. I realize that in the example, the menu items are simply href links, but I'm wondering how I could possibly do a postback and kick off my Button1_OnClick event.

View 1 RepliesI have a asp grid with a few columns that bind to data. The last column has been converted to a template-field. In this template-field is a button with a modal popup extender attached to it. Hidden inside this field is a modal popup. This modal popup is used to add a new account. it contains 2 text boxes, drop down lists and buttons("Add" and "Cancel"). When "add" is clicked the modal should close after the inserting of the new account in the code behind.
The Problem: I get the popup to display and load the Drop down lists from the cache, without problem. How do I get the button click event to fire in the code behind. I've tried using a JavaScript function that performs a _doPostBack('btnAddAcc','') but it keeps returning the error "JavaScript error: Object expected". I gathered after about 1 hour on Google that it is because "btnAddAcc' is not found because it is actually within the grid-view cell and can't be directly accessed. Using page methods and ajax calls is a last resort as the company has a strict policy against this and only allowes this after a bunch of paperwork.

I have a simple program. It has a "Start" and an "Exit" button. When the "START" button is hit, I change the text on the exit button to read "STOP PROCESSING". Then I go into my processing loop. When the "STOP PROCESSING" button is clicked the first time, the program simply ignores it. When I click it the SECOND time, it gets control. I know this because I put a breakpoint in at the start of the subroutine.What could I possibly be doing to quash the firing the first time?
View 3 RepliesI am having a problem with data in a combobox not being refreshed (using VB.net 2005 by the way). Right now I have a windows application with several forms. I have a Template form that contains the cboActivity combobox. This combobox is filled with data from a SQL database. I also have an Activity form. This form allows me to enter new activity information and save it to the database. If I load up the Template form, click the cboActivity combobox, the Fill event is triggered and my combobox is filled with the activity data from the database. But if I leave this form open, go to the Template, add new activity information, and save it...when I go back to the Activity form the combobox has not been update to contain the newly added data. Is there a way I can force the Fill event to fire every time I click the combobox?

I want the popup to occur when a button in a grid is clicked but that button is programmed behind the code and therefore the targetId would be invalid. So I wanted to attempt to set the gridview's button's onclientclick event to be the onclientclickevent of that hidden button. Is this possible or should I be going about this another way.

I have a set of accordian divs (powered by the prototype library) in an asp.net page. I would like to save the state of the accordian, so when a postback event occurs, the same div is open rather than reloading the page entirely and opening the default div.
My plan was to set a page control value with the ID of the open div using the div's toggler click event function, and then fire a click event after postback calling that same div (using the value of the control holding the div ID) as the target. I'm not sure how to fire a javascript click event from vb.net however, and this sure seems like a lame workaround.

I'm trying to develop a new feature for our vb.net order entry system. At the moment I provide an assisted paypal login which loops through transactions and copies the transactions. My program then looks at this data and copies it into text boxes. The operator then approves and saves the record.
