I have document, with numerous pages, that will populate at key locations using a UserForm and bookmarks. One of the pages in the document may need to be repeated. In other words, one of the pages may need to be populated more than once (and inserted successively in the document).
The troublesome page has bookmarks that will need to be repopulated with different information for every new instance within that same document.
I am considering making a table with the verbage in the "Troublesome Document" located in a Table. When I need to repopulate a new instance of that page, I think I should:
1. populate the document
2. copy and paste the wording in a new page
3. insert the new page (without bookmarks yet maintaining formatting) before the "Trouble Document"
4. repeat steps 1-3 for every necessary instance
5. delete the "Trouble Document" with the Table

View 1 RepliesI have a table located in a Microsoft Word document. changes has been enabled in this document. I see that I can get the collection of revisions using "ActiveDocument.Range.Revisions" . I also see that I can tell if the revision exists inside a table using "Range.Information(wdWithInTable) " .My question is this:I really need to find out the "ID#'s" that contain a revision on the "SomeText#" column.So for example, if "Some Text 1" was revised, I need to output "ID-1".I am puzzled as to how to implement this logic. Does anyone know of a way to go about this?

It works fine for all find and replace except if the word contains vbnewline.E.g If in webbrowser control I enter 'Hii <vbnewline> Hello'The above two words contain Enter key(i.e vbnewline) between them.If I pass following string to my Method it doesn't recognize the whole word and doesn't replace the word. I am trying to create a function that searches each line of a richtextbox and returns that row if one of many search phrases are found.The app works wonderfully when used with longer words or muli word phrases as the search criteria.The problem I have is if the search word/ criteria contains a small string such as bae or sp then I get alot of false positives. Anytime bae or sp is found within any word it returns the results.I need the function to stop looking within the words for results and instead look at the word as a whole for a match.Below you can see that I am taking each line of text in the richtextbox, removing most non-alpha numberic characters and replacing them with spaces.Then I have it remove any double spaces with single spaces.For the search term list I have it take the text before the delimiter;and do the same.Trouble I am having is,if the search term is SP and the search phrase is "This is a space shuttle lauch"it will return the sentence since the sentence contains the word "space" which starts with sp.[code]

This is another text."It's read as " This is some text that I need to find and this is the text. This is another text." but there is no space between each word. I want to get the word "text" or any word in that string. Can you help me with this function with a code sample ?
And I think that this method can be implemented with a string of Unicode also because in a sentence of Unicode it contains one or few, sometimes zero spaces between each word.

View 4 RepliesI decided it was about time I learned about accessing Microsoft Office products via VB.NET. I started with Excel and it all worked fine, I could create a new Excel Application, open a workbook from file and read from the sheet then close it all down again no worries. However, when I turned to Word...things got strange. Using the code provided below, every time I run it an instance of Microsoft Word opens itself on the desktop (with no loaded content). I didn't have this problem when using Excel with similar code, so I have to ask..what gives? Is there a way I can stop MS word opening at all? At the moment it just flickers for a second (it opens when I open the document, then when I call the Quit method it shuts down a split second later)[code]...

I am currently using the code below within a VB.Net application to find specific text in a Word document. The text is surrounded by symbols represented by the character codes in the .Text statement. The code below is working fine. The issue now is that sometimes the desired text within a document has been marked for deletion and appears as tracked change within the document. I would like to find only the desired text that has NOT been marked for deletion. Does anyone know of a way to determine if the found text is a deletion?

Today i received my homework assignment for this week and i finished every question except one. The question is: "Write a Program that requests a word containing "r" and "n" as input and determines where the two letters appear first. Just wondering how i should approach this i need to use a loop somewhere but i am confused as to how or what sort of code i should use. I know there needs to be a index to find the letter i just don't know how to screen the word to look for r and n using a loop.

View 3 RepliesWe have an interactive windows based application written in VB .Net 2010. It uses Word Object to display documents in MS Word. We have a form with a button. When the button is clicked we open the Word document and maximize the Word Windowstate. When we have the Visual Studio Tool running, the Word Document is maximized and has focus, even if we are running the exe from the bin folder outside of the tool. However, if Visual Studio is not running and we run the exe, focus remains on the original form window and the document stays in the task bar.

The heading will have a particular style (say Heading 1). For example: "Introduction" is a entry in Table of content with style Heading 1. I have a VB.net application that gets data off our server with ODBC and populates and saves a Word Document. When I try to deploy it to another computer it will get the data just fine and populate the first document, but it will crash before saving it. I've installed the .net framework 4.0, Microsoft Data Access Components, and the Microsoft ODBC .net data Provider. The error code is 0xC0000005, which is from what I can see is called an "Access Violation Exception." It works fine on my computer.

I'm trying to read a word document for the purpose of obtaining a word count, I realise Word has built in functionality for presenting a word count but I want to write a little app that will omit certain parts of the document from the word count.
So far I have tried this code to open the document but I am getting an error 'Word.Document cannot be found' and 'Microsoft.Office.Interop cannot be found'. I have added a reference to the Microsoft Office 12.0 Object Library under the COM tab. I have Office 2007 installed and I'm using VB2005.

I have developed a WinForm Application with VB.Net (VS2010) having Office 2010 Professional Installed, and it is 64-bit Windows 7 Platform. The program opens a .doc and .rtf format document, and attempts to save it in htm format. I am using following commands:

All goes fine with development and running on development PC, but when I publish it for offline installation, and deploy it on Client PC having Windows XP with Office 2007, it gives error on oDoc.SaveAs2 line, and program crashes.

View 8 RepliesThe following code allows words to be added to a listbox. Add the word to a text file and create a folder with the word as its name. The second part undoes the actions.If I try to delete the word immediately after adding it one of two things happen.
1.An error is reported stating the path cannot be found. Although the listbox index value is correct according to the code the error is pointing at that index +1.
2.The code continues to the point of requesting conformation to delete the folder, still pointing at the index value +1. I the action is confirmed the wrong folder is deleted.
However if I stop debugging, then run the code again all works correctly.Is it likely to persist when the application is compiled?

I am setting up a document in MS Word 2007 and would like to have a checkbox at the bottom of a certain page that is enabled when true to insert a page break, copy the page above and then insert the copied page into the new page that has just been created.I have got the checkbox in from the developer tab, opened up the Microsoft Visual Basiceditor and got it to insert a page breakhen it is selected (checked)iving the new page.
