How to make my counter work. I keep feeling like I'm putting it, or maybe just part of it, in the wrong place so I've been moving it all over the place but haven't found anything that works yet. I'll paste my code below and it will be the code that seems to not stop when it reaches the end of my counter. Other ways I've tried it make it stop after one or two, depending on what I did to the code at them time.
Here's what I have at the moment: Public Class mainForm Dim guessCounter As Integer Dim correctAccumulator As Integer Dim totalAccumulator As Integer Dim answer As Integer [Code] ......
i have a timer and i want its calculation will be done on another thread, since the timer tick event start whenever its enable property is set to true i don't see how to force it to work in another thread.
I am planning to keep timer in the form to start from 1 and increment every second. This timer shiuld stop when the other events are triggered in the form (like clicking a button etc).
I'm currently writing a countdown timer on vb 2005, with the following characteristics: When I press a button and the timer is running, it adds time to the counter, for example, if the time is 2:30 and I press a button, and the period to add is 1:10, the new time would be 4:40. The window is always on top of every other window, and is active even though it doesn't have focus. When the time's up and i press a key, in this case Esc, the application closes, otherwise, it just continues. [Code]
I'm beginning the process of trying to recreate minesweeper. See the attached picture of the version on my computer. My guess would be all the click-able locations are images. But notice the beveled borders around all the components, and how they separate the different section of the game. How would I go about created that? And what about the digitized timer and mine counter. Are those images too? I'm fairly new to VB programming (windows programming in general).
Everything is nice and dandy on my pc, then I compile, move it to its final destination and I doesn't work! At first I thought it was a OS problem, but both machines has win7, I then thought it was a compilation problem, installed visual studio on the other pc, recompiled still with no luck, then it dawned on me, may it be a problem of 32bit vs 64bit?The piece of code is this:[code]....
By the way is not a problem of mouse_event, is the timer that doesn't work
I'm nearly finished building a Black Jack game for college I've just got one small problem that I need some help with. It's probably just something really basic that I'm missing, but I've not been using VB for a very long time. The problem is with counting up the results after each game. I can get the counter to work and displays the results in a text box like so...
How would I be able to make a textbox (counter). text = to something. Following an earlier example, I came up with the code below but it returns an error
I am trying to make a record counter for a textbox i have on my form. Basically i have an Access database called Member and wish too count how many records there are in the database and insert the figure into the textbox called MemberID. I am doing this to stop duplication in my form. I am doing it on the MemberID which is a Primary Key and not an autonumber
I want to make several linklabels for some links I have in a DB. I want the program make a new linklabel for each link automatically.I thought of something like this:
static counter as integer Static point As Point point.X = 50
I'm having some trouble trying to get a 10 minute timer to work. Basically the user can choose to complete the question timed or not, if they select timed I want the program to display the time as it counts down and display a message once the time it up.
This is my code so far:
Private Sub btnstartassess_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnstartassess.Click If rbtntimed.Checked = True Then
I already created a button "enjoy button" that i want to move in a form when the "timer start button" is clicked.how do link the timer to the"timer start button" and make it move? this is what i tried so far..then am blank first
Quote: Private Sub MainForm_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load 'Me.xTimer.Enabled = False xTimer.Interval = 10[code].........
Trying to get System.Threading.Timer to work!! I am converting a small form based application to run as a services, The app just runs an monitors a folder and then when it finds a file to does some work on it. Having changed the form.timer to threading.timmer - The timer stopps working after a while. Below is a simple test services - when you look in to the text file it stops after approx 130 entries
at the minute i am trying to get a start, stop timer to work to keep track of computers being used in a shop, i messed with some code i found on here and it works, but i am looking for hours, minutes and seconds also if you could say if i am on the right track with the code i used, also if i wanted 10 computers would i need 10 timers to code or can 1 run a few apps.
Public Class Form1 Dim time2 As Date Private Sub Timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick
I have an application that requires data be entered, and after entering, a button is clicked to process that data. Clicking the button works just as it should--the data is processed properly. In constructing a test module, I provide a set of data values, followed by:
btnWhatever.PerformClick()
Nothing happens. I have used this syntax for years, and it has always worked flawlessly. I have triple checked everything else and isolated the problem to the failure of the PerformClick(). The PerformClick() is in a test subroutine that does nothing but fill textboxes and labels with default data, then calls the PerformClick() on the button to begin processing. Again, the button works fine, the data is entered as it should be, but the PerformClick() does not fire the click event.
I have this code sample from a book I'm reading which looks to be incorrect:
Imports System.Diagnostics Sub Main Dim pc As New PerformanceCounter("PerfApp", "Clicks", False) 'excepiton here pc.Increment() counterLabel.Content = pc.NextValue().ToString() End Sub
There excepion message I get is: The requested Performance Counter is not a custom counter, it has to be initialized as ReadOnly. I looked for a property to see if I can set it but couldn't find one.
I have a .dll file (Interop.ACTMULTILib.dll) that I use to connect to a PLC. This .dll contains a sub called ReadDeviceBlock2(byval devicename as string, byval size as integer, byref data as short). When I call this method in my main it works fine, if I call it from another method that was called by main it works as well. However, it doesn't work when I call it from my Timer_Elapsed sub? I guess this has to do something with threads but I can't figure it out.
Module Main Private Timer As New System.Timers.Timer Private PLC As New ACTMULTILib.ActEasyIF Private DataSet As new DataSet[code].....
The project is "kWh counter", that is, a simple program that calculates the power usage. The incoming numbers are the Power of the appliance (lightbulb) and the voltage (230/120).The formula is W=P*t that is multiplication of the power and the time it is used.I thought to connect it with a timer and the passing secconds multyply with the power, and, write the ussage on a label. This would be something like a simple digital power counter.Note that the voltage is not necesary.I am from europe where the standards are 230V.
I'm making a Jungle timer program for League of Legends, where I will, when I click a button, start a timer for how long it will take the jungle camp to respawn. My question is, how do I make such a timer?
I'm trying to make my timer go in reverse. I had it earlier, then I tried to make it include milliseconds now it won't work at all. I swear I had this same thing before for seconds, now it won't work. What am I missing?
I am making the simple timer module which will display time in count down format as if user want 1 hour 3 mins and 30 sec so it will count in revers. I have almost half code done but after trying the all tricks and logic I didn't got any thing the out put is not proper as which I want.
The code is as follows Public Class Form1 Public hh As Integer Public mm As Integer Public ss As Integer Public totalsec As Integer [Code] .....
I am a beginner of VB, I want to set up a timer to count the time when a programme is runing, but the programme has several pages. How can I make a continuous timer to count the time even though jump to another page?
