I'm looking to call an excel macro (excel version 07) within a separate visual studio application (visual studio express 2010). Basically, a user clicks a browse dialog button to select a xls or xlsm file which is then added to a listbox. Next, I would like the macro to run when another button is clicked. The macro looks at the first column in excel and moves the listed .tif images from one folder to another. I referenced the excel libraries, but seem to be getting hung up on a few code statements (''''ERROR see code below). I would like to run the macro within visual studio for any selected excel file or add the macro somehow to the selected excel file and run it.
'Here is the button click procedure
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
filenames = lstFiles.SelectedItem

I have a situation where I want to run a Visual Studio macro that has the user type something in an InputBox, then inserts a snippet and includes that text somewhere in it. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to insert the snippet from macro code. It seems like it'd be something like
DTE.ExecuteCommand("Edit.InvokeSnippetFromShortcut")
or DTE.ExecuteCommand("Edit.InvokeSnippetFromShortcut", "theSnippetName")

I want to build a macro which adds a ; to every line end, which hasn't already got one and is not empty or a { or }. I use C# in Visual Studio 2010 Professional so I probably need a VB Macro. I need it because I have to migrate Unittest from VBS to C# (Don't ask why). So I got thousands of lines like foo="53" bazz=1337 I do not care if support is dropped, I should be done in some weeks. Also if there is one ; put in to much, i still review the code later.

I'm using Visual Studio 2003, and I have a macro similar to this:
[Code]...
The first time use the macro, it works fine. Each subsequent time, even after I detach from the process, the .Attach() doesn't seem to do anything. The same thing happens as I step through the macro... the proc.Attach() gets called on the correct process, but nothing happens. One note: when viewing the process in the Processes window, the Type column for my process shows ".NET, Win32".

I was just wondering I heard you can get an on-screen help system, a friend said you can change this in the settings or whatever and when running your application you hit F10 or another key and it will come up with an on-screen help system.

I'm trying to make an app using visual studio 2010?I have this excel formula that will calculate a 6 Digit code from a 11 digit serial number.The excel is pretty old and it consts of math operations such as RIGHT, LEFT, MID and POWER I managed to "translate" that to
Microsoft.VisualBasic.Right, Microsoft.VisualBasic.Left, Microsoft.VisualBasic.Mid and Math.Pow but i'm not sure if i did it right, since is not giving me the result i'm looking for, instead of a 6 digit number is giving me something like this: 9.9E+52?
vB Code:
Microsoft.VisualBasic.Right((Math.Pow(2, 5 + (Microsoft.VisualBasic.Left((Microsoft.VisualBasic.Left(txtESN.Text, 3)), 1) + Microsoft.VisualBasic.Right(Microsoft.VisualBasic.Left(txtESN.Text, 3), 1) + Microsoft.VisualBasic.Mid(Microsoft.VisualBasic.Left(txtESN.Text, 3), 2, 1))) - 1) * ((Microsoft.VisualBasic.Right(txtESN.Text, 3)) +

I have an desktop application that references several dlls. All are targeted for .Net 3.5, x86. The applicaiton has been deployed for several years and was upgraded from visual studion 2008 to 2010 last year. I have made several changes to the app since then (as recently as last Thursday) with out any issues. Now, everything builds, but when I run the application, I get a type initialiazer error when one of the projects is loaded by the main application.
The error messsage is {"Could not load file or assembly 'System.Drawing, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.":"System.Drawing, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a"}.
There were no changes to this project since the last successfuly deployment last week, but today I am getting this error.

I've decided to learn Visual Basic .Net as this is what some of my colleagues work with, and this will allow me to work with them on projects.I have purchased Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Step by Step and downloaded the sample files. When I am trying to debug the first sample application (a Windows form), it is telling me that it can't load System.Drawing V4.0.0.0. However, if I create a new Windows Form application (C# or VB.Net) this works fine.
I had a look at the References tab in the project settings and System.Windows.Forms is referenced, but the version referenced is 2.0.0.0. I have removed and re-added this reference and it stays at 2.0.0.0 and I still get the error.Does anybody have any ideas as to what may be going on?

I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express: the C++ and VB versions.
There is some VB code that forms the body of a program, and all the GUI.There is also some C++ code that does some fast processing (lots of loops).
I am trying to call the C++ code, compiled as a dll, using:
Private Declare Sub CalcGraph Lib "Model.dll" ()
And at the moment keep getting the error: Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. Unable to find an entry point named 'CalcGraph' in DLL 'Model.dll'I'm fairly new to programming, so please be patient with me That said, I'm prepared to do the leg-work, and have already spent quite a while reading around on this and other sites. Nothing seems to match quite well enough to help me understand what's going wrong.

I want to read a VB or C# Visual Studio project file so I can find out which files the project uses (code source files, not images or whatever).I simply opened a vbproj and csproj file in notepad and found that they are in XML format. A simple example follows. The red parts is what I need:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Project ToolsVersion="4.0" DefaultTargets="Build" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003">
<PropertyGroup>
<blabla... />

I would use the System.Linq.Dynamic. I added the specified Dynamic.vb file, that starts like this:

to my (VB.NET)solution. Now Visual Studio does not recognize anymore in the project files the System.XXX references, proposing me to change them to Global.System.XXX

I need to read a Visual Studio Solution file (.SLN files) to figure out which projects belong to this solution.By opening a SLN file in notepad, one can see that the projects are stored like this:
Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 11.00
# Visual Studio 2010
Project("{FAE04EC0-301F-11D3-BF4B-00C04F79EFBC}") = "RadioGadget", "RadioGadgetRadioGadget.csproj", "{AE664C6C-000B-44D9-BAD8-0200D6ABE90D}"
[code].....
excluding the ... part obviously (which is just some guid I don't care about). Then I need it to match the rest too, and more importantly, I only need it to return the filename that I've underlined in the example. When I simply use 'm.Value' as I am now I think I will get the entire matched string back, right? That gets me nowhere as I'd still need to parse the filename out of that manually... Bit pointless to use regex then...
