OLE Objects (Pictures) From Access DB And Visual Studio 2010?
May 16, 2011I have a class assignment and I am having some difficulty with an Access 2010 database and OLE objects in the database. I have the database imported into the project and I am able to view the records from the database that I have in labels and combo boxes.
I used the database DataSoure wizard to create my connection string and import the Access database. In the DataSouce window I set the DataSet for the "Flag" column that contains my pictures to use a picture box object type and added the data bound object to my form.
When I run the application all the field from the database show as expected however, the picture box object does not display the images from the database. When I check the picture box object in the designer the properties window shows that the image source is bound to my database with the little database icon and the data bindings are all correct.

May 24, 2011I am trying to write a Project to keep track of my favorite sports teams and scores and store and retrieve the data from a database. I am using vb.net and accdb files. I am able to connect to the tables( 3 tables Players'Keep track of individual stats',OpposingTeams'Keep track of who my team played',Games'matches between the two teams') and Visual studio made it easy to display the teams in comboboxes but this is as far as i can get.
I am wondering how to have a textbox query the Games table and "insert a record into the table, thus creating a primary key and returning the primary key to visual studio and display it in the texbox"

Aug 2, 2011I have a program designed in VB.net for a wafer probing system. The software has 3 main components that come standard and three that are options. When a customer decides not to have the three options they are disabled but still in the program. If at some point they decide to buy the options, one of our technicians would have to go there and be able to access the program with an administrative account to enabled the components.

Sep 1, 2010I want to read a VB or C# Visual Studio project file so I can find out which files the project uses (code source files, not images or whatever).I simply opened a vbproj and csproj file in notepad and found that they are in XML format. A simple example follows. The red parts is what I need:

Then I need it to match the rest too, and more importantly, I only need it to return the filename that I've underlined in the example. When I simply use 'm.Value' as I am now I think I will get the entire matched string back, right? That gets me nowhere as I'd still need to parse the filename out of that manually... Bit pointless to use regex then...

You drag any type of file onto the exe, and a window pops up with some options for the file, then it saves the file to a different location, works some SQL magic, etc. It works great for the most part. The only issue I've found is that if the path of the file contains any spaces, the application will crash immediately with the error window:[URl]..I'm using: Private filename as String = Command$ This is located right inside my form's class declaration, not within a sub/function.Without this line, my program runs fine (although useless, without accessing the file).I've also tried (I think this was it, I don't have the code with me at the moment): Private filename as String = Environment.CommandLine So, in vb.net, is there a way to drag a file onto an exe and use that path name, even if there are spaces in the path name?

Sep 21, 2007When I load my solution and compile it after first starting the IDE, everything works as expected. After changing source and recompiling, I get the following compile error:
Error 11 Unable to copy file "objDebugCAMDRS.Library.dll" to "binCAMDRS.Library.dll". The process cannot access the file 'binCAMDRS.Library.dll' because it is being used by another process. CAMDRS.Library.
After closing Visual Studio 2005 and reopening the solution I can compile again successfully. This is an old solution that has been fine for a long time. I just recently changed computers and reinstalled everything.I am running win XP Pro sp2, Visual Studio 2005 sp1.
