Make Sure The User Dont Upload Images More Than 1MB In Size?
May 1, 2009
I am using ASP.net with VB.NET.Is there some Validator that i can use that will check the size of the uploaded image?Else what must i do in code to make sure that the user do not upload images more than 1MB?
i tryed to search after it, i think i have seen it before but couldnt find it again, tryed to search for hours.i want to make a maximum size allowed to upload to my ftp, with my ftp uploader.
I have developed an application which launch an external executable. I want to be able that if I am using another one, like notepad, I dont loose the focus to the one called by my application. I have test it changing the startinfo.windows style ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...ndowstyle.aspx ) from Normal, minimized and hidden.Every one I have used make notepad loose the focus to the new launched application. Is it there any way to launch an application and make this dont get the focus, in order I can continue working in other app without problems?
I found myself a difficulty on creating a image uploader to my database. This is because in .NET CF, I cant find File Upload control. Is there any other options and how should I do it?I know there is a OpenFileControl but there is a problem on saving it / previewing it on a picture box.
I am on a project where users can login /register /change status/ ... just like facebook. The problem is that i can't find a code that allow users to upload pictures as their profile picture. I think i should save the Url of the image in the database not all the image . I found a site where i can save the images: [URL] but i couldn't find a way uploading images to photobucket trough my application and get the url of the image ....:( What i really need is a way to upload images from my windows application form to my sql database.
In my web page I have the image box and upload button. When I click the upload button, the folder browser will open and if I select the image, it should display in the image box. I am using ASP.Net and VB.Net
The idea is to scan a folder of images and then let the user navigate back and forth through the images using a couple of buttons. The problem is, I can only get it to return a single image, and not the whole lot. It's looks to me as though the images are getting assigned to the same index in the array. [code]
The app i am working on is for creating theme for the iPod touch... It has to deal with LOTS of images (100's potentially) There will be the set of default images, and then the user created replacement images. I started loading all the defaults into a resx file... thinking then I could just pull them out. now that I started setting the default, this sucks! lol the app will do this, on load it will set all the images (variables) to the resx images then when a theme is loaded, it will replace the default with the user image (if the user img exists) otherwise, the default stays. Then the "screen" is drawn to show the user. so, here is just the images to build the wallpaper, dock, and status bar...
So we're having this problem. A user goes to upload a file, and if it's above 10MB, it just kind of times out the page, and clears, and no good error is thrown to describe what happened. Ideally, we would like to examine the file size when the user chooses the file they want to upload but I don't know if this is even possible. Our framework is built with ASP.NET, VB.NET, and Javascript (and ExtJS 3.0), and it runs in IE.
Ok, I got everything working and running, but now I need to restrict the file people send me via form to 500kb, at client side.I understood you need a 3-party plugin? Is there no way to do it via aspx?
I'm using a FileUpload control in a website which should only be able to upload images. To that end, I'm checking its MIME type before accepting the upload.Does anyone know whether the FileUpload.PostedFile.ContentType property comes from the file itself or the request? The latter is insecure, since the request can be spoofed. If that's the case, does anyone know a good way to validate a file securely?
I have FileUpload Control on my Page: <asp:FileUpload runat="server" ID="fuAttachment" CssClass="fileUploadCSS" size="76" />
I want to change size of this Control on Button's Click event though Jquery. How do i set it? because ($("#fuAttachment").size Doesn't working. and ($("#fuAttachment").width returns null
I'm working on an asp.net website written in vb. I embedded fdkeditor in my page, and it works fine. As it includes image-upload feature, which works fine as well, I need to limit the size of the file before it's been uploaded.
I wonder I couldn't find anyting satisfactory on web, it seems fckeditor's developers haven't ever thought about that.
I have a site that has a profile page and I would like to allow the users to upload an image for the profile picture. I forsee a problem if the user select an image that is larger than what I am allowing for the site. Is their a good refrence or example how to accomplish this?
The site is developed in Visual Studio 2008 with VB.NET 3.5.
How can I do it so every time the user loads my application it will automatically (without prompt, or user selecting) upload all the files in a folder i select beforehand and add them into ListBox1
I was thinking to make an app to save images [or download images] to local hard disk. But to keep it easy, I want this app to create a small picturebox on form to show the thumbnail of downloaded image. Lets say a 5 pictureboxes has to be added with the thumbnails to show the recent downloads. A user can save the location where he wants to save the files on hard disk. A listbox or a dropdown menu will help in categorizing the images, like image1 in friends section, image2 in family section, image3 in others, etc... When the program restarts all the latest 5 thumbnails has to be loaded in pictureboxes and the directory that was chosen. Finally, a button that shows the downloaded images into original image file size one by one or a slide show. Is it possible to make such program?
I'm creating a microwave oven this weekend. I have to import an image of a microwave oven not running, running and with the door open. What size files should I be importing. I use photo shop so I can save them as bmp's or jpgs. Should they be 72dpi? or 150 dpi? I know websites are saved at 72. ? and do I import them as jpgs or bmp's if I'm using a picture box? The microwave has to run so you have to be able to push the buttons, so is a picture box the best way to go?
I am putting ico pictures or icon's into project which i would like to know the steps to do this as well as how do you make the ico/icons bigger. When i run the project the ico images are real small and i need them bigger !! I am using picture boxes to put the ico's in. i got them there but ain't sure how or if it is the right way to do it .
1) The user places a handful of image files into a given directory. Could be bmp's, jpg's, etc.
2) The images files will be saved into a 2nd "temp" directory and reduced down to a size reasonable for e mailing (ie. 200kb per file). I'm assuming they will end up as jpg's, so if they start out as bmp's they will need to be converted. If they start out as jpg's, and are just too big, they will need to be shrunk proportionately (ie. if they start out as 12 inches by 18 inches, they will end up as 6 x 9, or something like that).
I've found various bits of code on this forum (and others), but want to hear some opinions about the best way to go about it, assuming there might be as many as ten or twelve files that need to be manipulated. So should I read something into a memory stream (haven't tried that before), or create bitmap objects (seems slow?), etc.
i've been coding a sidebar but i dont know how to make the size to aoutomatically fix the screen size..i mean if the screen resolution is 1000x789 or 890x678 s stilll fit to it I have find in google and youtube but still i didn't get any ides on how to do it And also if possible can we code s sidebar that automaticcally hide when we did not move our mouse to it?
i want to make it so my toolstriptextbox will smoothly size with the form as i resize it. I tried using a timer and just say txtbox1.width = me.size.width - 100 or whatever space for the buttons and handling it for when it reaches negative numbers (with autosize off on the textbox) but its not at all smooth.
I am retrieving Images in a Picture Box at runtime using the following code.
Public Class Form1 Dim myDir As String = "C:Users rujadeDesktop" '-- my folder for images Dim x, y As Single ' the coordinates of the 'next' image to add Dim pic As Image
[code]....
I wanted to add more functionality to allow user to increase the size of images that have been retrieved in the Picture Box. How to do so?
My program utilizes various images of different sizes. I want to organize these images so that they all fit into a predetermined space without resizing any of them. They need to be organized in such a way to use as much of the predetermined space as possible. I guess it would be like organizing photos in one of those old photo albums (with the translucent, mildly adhesive, peel-back plastic sheet that held the photos in place) so that you could get as many photos on a page as possible. Or you could think of it sort of like Tetris? Except all the pieces are rectangles.
I assume I would use a recursive function to loop through all the images to find out if they fit or not, then returning the best outcome? I tried searching for code samples but searching for Organizing Images or Organizing Shapes gives less than desirable results.
I have some custom user controls in my .net winforms program that do not display correctly when the user has selected larger text size. This setting:
My controls look like this: Instead of like this:
The bill to area and ship to area are both custom controls. I don't know if this is contributing to the problem but I do have code in each to scale the phone/fax areas to stretch nicely, like this code from the bill to control,
Private Sub panFaxPhone_Resize(sender As Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles panFaxPhone.Resize panFax.Width = (panFaxPhone.Width / 2) - 1 panPhone.Width = (panFaxPhone.Width / 2) - 1 panFax.Left = panFaxPhone.Width - panFax.Width End Sub
How can I get my controls to size correctly while still respecting the users choice for larger text (I don't want to just set the AutoScaleMode to None)? After playing with this for a long time it seems to be a problem with anchors in the child controls. See this below image, the inner black box is the control with its border turned on, the text boxes (like name) are anchored left and right and should stretch to fill the control, but don't.
I have placed several PictureBox Images of different colored dots(which represent lights) on an image of a Christmas Tree. I can make the lights randomly flash using a randomGenerator and a Select case statement. However, the code is very long. There are 67 lights on this tree and the code is 71 pages long. There has to be an easier way to do this. So far I have tried the following with two images of lights just to see if it would work and it does not work:
