Make The ListBox Items To Show Up Every Other In Two Different Colors?
Jan 28, 2011
I am currently working at an, as the topic tittle says, ListBox control, writed in pure GDI to inproe my GDI skills. The problem is the ListBox items (defined as ListeItm), i tryes to make the ListBox items to show up every other in two different colors.
To do so, i have created a boolean called "lf". When the ListBox item is created it checks what the value of lf the last Item got, and chose the opposit, but somehow, it is not working.
Imports System.Drawing.Drawing2D
Public Class Liste
Inherits Control
Dim G As Graphics, B As Bitmap
I have made a little application for me and my friend to be able to chat with eachother, but now we have some unclear strings as you can see on the image below:
I would like to change for example the username or time date to a color or make it bold, could anyone tell me how to change ONLY that and not everything? I'd love to have such a thing as it makes the whole application way 'clearer'.
i'm having issues trying to show listbox items into a text box. I have a list box item, when any of these items are selected from the collection (using VS.NET) i need that item to be shown in a text box.
I am trying to display multiple check items from a listbox into a label seperated by a comma. Everything is working fine but the only problem is that when i check first item in the listbox nothing happens and when i check the second item then the label shows the first item. Then when i click third item the label shows the first and the second item and so on. When i uncheck the item it does the same
My question is why it does not show the items in the label as they are selected.
Private Sub lstMonths_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles lstMonths.SelectedIndexChanged Dim intX As Short
I am using VB.NET (version 2008). I have two types of items populating in a listbox (checked listbox). For example: lets say one is type "A" and other is "Type B". Their names maybe same so if the user sees those items in listbox then he won;t be able to determine their type until he click on them and checks out its properties. I wanted that I add each item to listbox and colour them so that blue for example means type "A" is there and red means the other. So this way I will be able to know at a glance that how many item of what type is present. I guess it may not be possible to do that in a standard checkedlistbox. I am also using component factory's krypton controls which enhance the gui of an application. But I dunno if I can progress using that.
Basically on form2 i have a listbox. And on form3 i have 6 listboxes. I want listbox 2 to equal listbox (a listbox on form3) my current code does not work Private Sub formAustralia_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
How can I make a progress bar that shows when I acces some items on a listbox. It fills only when I click on listbox items, and then gets empty imediately.
How can I make a progress bar that shows when I access some items on a listbox. It fills only when I click on listbox items, and then gets empty immediately.
How to make the listbox to show something else when the item inside the listbox is clicked. For example, inside the listbox has 10 items like "resistor 1", "resistor 2", "resistor 3"...when i clicked on each item, it will show other thing like combo boxes to let the user fill up the color codes for each resistor
How do we make a visual basic listbox to respond directly when the user clicks on the items in the textbox? (such as making a menu appear or displaying info in a label when the items are clicked)
I have used the SelectedIndexChange event but nothing happens when the listbox items are clicked. The SelectedIndexChange event only seems to work when a button is added. It seems that the button's click event gets the listbox's selectedindex change event to start working. The listbox's textchanged event doesnt seem to work also.
Is there any way to make the listbox respond directly to the user's clicks without the use of button controls?
I am just wondering how I can make a listbox count the number of selected items and display it in a text label. My listbox selection mode is on MultiExtended.
I want to set a color on items and subitems being displayed within the listview control in a detailed view.Using the forecolor property setting would change the color of all the contents in the listview control. All I want is to display different colors on each column of the listview control. If I have four colums on the listview, it should display the contents on each column in a different color. I tried to do it on my own but it was unsuccessful. I'm looking for the exact code to set the color successfully. Currently, the code below is what I have to display the data on the listview. What line of code should I add on the code below to set different colors on items and subitems of the listview?
I'm working on a playlist and would like to have 2 different highlight colors. I'm using the DrawItem Event with the following code..
Private Sub PlaylistBox1_DrawItem(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DrawItemEventArgs) Handles PlaylistBox1.DrawItem e.DrawBackground()
[Code]....
I want the item above the selected item to be highlighted in red. Basically what I'm looking for is the select item is green"next cue" and the previous item is red meaning it is currently playing.
I know how to have alternate row colors with ListView. But how about with ListBox? I've run a search. I read in some web sites where they say you can't. Is that true? Meanwhile, I've done something like: For i As Integer = 0 To ListBox1.Items.Count - 1 Step 1 If i Mod 2 = 0 Then ListBox1. BackColor = Color.FromArgb(150, 250, 255) Else ListBox1. BackColor = Color.White End If Next i with ListBox's DrawItem event. And it doesn't work.
How can I make certain items in my content menu Bold or a different color etc etc i.e. menuitem3.bold=true Dim buttonMenu As New ContextMenu Dim MenuItem1 As MenuItem Dim MenuItem2 As MenuItem Dim MenuItem3 As MenuItem menuitem1.text="Choice 1" menuitem2.text="Choice 2" menuitem3.text="Choice 3" buttonMenu.MenuItems.Add menuitem1 buttonMenu.MenuItems.Add menuitem2 buttonMenu.MenuItems.Add menuitem3
This is a WinForms Application in VB. In my application I am trying to make it easier for the user to pick out items in a list quickly based on the items text color.. So I am trying to assign the color to each item using a select case statement as below... The problem is that I am getting an error saying "Public member 'Attributes' on type 'String' not found." VB flags the lines with the Attribute.Add param with this error.. Here is the code that I currently have...
For Each u In _units _counter += 1 u_lookupNumber_box.Items.Add((Convert.ToString(u.UnitId)) + " - " + (Convert.ToString(u.perMonthCost)))
[Code].....
I did notice that when I did the .attributes part when I hit "." and typed "att" it did not appear in the intelisense box in vb.. Which makes me think I need to assign the name "attributes" somehow to the dropdownbox first.. It should be noted that u_lookupNumber_box is the name of the drop down box on my form..
If I set a ListBox.Height = ListBox.PreferredHeight when the control is hidden and IntegralHeight = True, then set it visible:
a) Actual Height reduces by typically 3-5 pixels after redraw (but not 1 pixel per item).
b) PreferredHeight does not not appear to give the correct integral of item heights.
Is there a way to make ListBox calculate the correct integral Height before the ListBox is made visible, so it can be correctly pre-positioned from bottom edge?
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
I'm working on a game in VB.NET and I had an idea that lets you change button colors before launching the game (made a game launcher) but I can't figure out how to do it. The original code I set:
Someone on here sent me to this video tut on how to make a progress bar change colors using xp style. So I watched t and came up witht his but why does this work? The function part I dont understand completely. I have a idea roughly but still trying to understand why it works.[code]
I am using the below code to find all the items in a listbox using vb.net 2005. But how can remove the non searched items from the listbox after searching?
