Make The OpenTK Window To Be Completely Independent From Whatever Is Going On With The Other Controls
May 4, 2011
What I want to make the OpenTK window to be completly independent from whatever is going on with the other controls (for instance if button_click is Thread.sleep(10000) I dont want that my animation freezes for 10s). I want to have it in its own thread (no BackgroundWorker). The problem is I dont know what modifications should I do to get it working. It is currently initialized in InitializeComponent section. I want that all events and everything is handeled in its own thread, basically 2 "programs" in 1 form.
I have a window that needs to run a length process. The process is threaded so it doesn't lock up the screen. However, I need this to run when the window is first loaded, not based on a button click or anything. The problem it creates is that it causes the window to stall a bit when initially painting itself. I even tried to put the call to the method in the Shown event, although it helps, it's still not perfect.
Let's say I make an application where the window (by default) is 1280x720, but the user is able to resize as How can I make the controls inside the application, resize according to the main window?
i want to make a paint sort of program and so i have read about how to add controls at runtime. but i cant figure out how to change the properties of the control... for ex, if i add a line( that is the user clicks the line tool on the toolbar) he should be able to place it anywhere on the area available, and after that also if later he wishes to select it and resize/change color etc. it can be done.
I have a rectangle that I dynamically draw in a Window. Said Window has a background with it's opacity set to 0.4. I'd like to make the area inside the rectangle completely transparent (see what's behind the window).
Here is the code of my Window : <Window x:Class="TakeAScreenzone" xmlns="[URL]" xmlns:x="[URL]" Title="PloofTAS" Height="355" Width="539" Topmost="True" [Code] .....
Been trying to make an independent web browser... One thing I would like to do is to make my tabbed web browser to have a 'separate web browser engine' than to have it run off any default browser. I know that it will take a long time I have been looking at lots of websites but they do not give me any helpful information which is annoying except to read small snippets of useless data.
The development machine's and client machine's screen resolution are very likely to vary. I want a code that will RE-SIZE and RE-POSITION each and every control so that no matter what the development machine's resolution is, the application will look exactly the same on the client machine irrespective of its screen resolution.
These two links are as close as I get to the answer, but they are not very clear.
I am using VB 2008,I am trying to make a launcher my private server but, I failed it always say 'This exe can't execute independent" I tried these method Shell ("Game.Exe") And System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("Game.exe")

If you have ever noticed in the Task Manager, when you right-click on the running task, you have many options which include 'Minimize' and 'Maximize'. Is there anyway to do achieve this in vb?
[code] how to make the part that drops down semi-transparent or completely transparent resembling floating text. So that I can see the form underneath.
Starting from my understanding about Background worker control, I understands that the background worker runs the code in its "DoWork" method in a seperate thread, while ProgressChanged and RunWorkerCompleted events are executed on the main thread. In my senerio, I report the progress and under an specail condition my application displays a message box to the user in "ProgressChanged" method using MessageBox.Show(). and in "Run Worker Completed" event the application finalize some work. There the sequence is important, suppose that the message is of Yes or No type and finalization depends on it. Now when i run my application, the background worker triggers "ProgressChanged", but as soon as backgroundWorker's cancelAsync() is called the program leaves the current "ProgressChanged" method and executes "RunWorkerCompleted" code first. How can i make sure that the "Run Worker Completed" code executes only after the completion of ProgressChanged method.
I am working on a project inwhich I want same date format in all project forms. I want to use a form for setting/resetting date format for whole project. whenever I will change date format in this settings form, there should be this new date format available in all forms. how can I implement this?
I'm learning WPF, and NavigationWindow in particular. I want to add stuff to the window, like a status bar, a favorite bar, etc. Unfortunately when I try adding anything, I get an error.
I'm hoping there might be a way that pages can be bookmarked as someone browses between them; let the user drag pages up to a favorite bar.
Something similar with the status bar; I'd like to have page specific information on the status bar, without having to have it on each individual page.
Is this possible with a navigation window, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
I ended up putting the status bar on the individual pages, so that I can more easily change what's displayed from page to page, but the tool bar behaves nicely with the frame.
I have a nokia phone, which is connected to my PC through Nokia PC Suite. Whenever I get a call on my phone, a small window appears above System Trey. I want to read out the number of caller that appears on that window through my program, so that I can use it further.
Is there any way in c# or VB to automatically move the controls in a panel when the window is resized. I do not want the Anchor property, which only resizes the control. THe use is that controls are added at runtime to the form, and when the locations/values are loaded on a computer with a larger monitor, they are in the incorrect positions.
So, concering my project: I am trying to control an RC Car via Kinect, until now I got it working with key control only (eg WASD). So, I am using a Velleman K8055 Interface Board + the Kinect and VB Windows Forms. So far, so good, I created 4 Forms: menu, info, kinect-controls + wasdcontrols window. The error only occurs for my kinect-controls window (german name: Steuerung.vb) & that's my source
I have to make some automatization on a web server, I use Visual Studio 2005 Visual Basic Windows Console Application. I want to make a load/performance test of the web server, so I open several Internet Explorer instances, and I login the application, that is not a problem. But after that I have a mess on the page and I cannot make any more automatization...The composition of the page after the login is like this: I have the default form, another form and a multiple data window(mdw) controller, which dinamically can switches the forms on this part.
The problem is that I don't know how to access the controls of this mdw forms. I couldn't find much about this mdw controller and I am not an expert.
My code is here:
Imports System Imports System.Diagnostics Imports System.Web.Ui.Webcontrols
I would like to make a web browser for my own use with various customizations. However, in VB6 the various web related control like winsock, inet fetch only html. Using webbrowser control is not the answer because it uses the same settings as windows IE. What I'd like to know is a control somewhat like the webbrowser but independent of windows IE setting. So that the changes made in IE wont effect my web browser. And also the webbrowser control does not have features such as blocking a specific image/CSS according to URL etc.
I'm actually having problems converting fahrenheit to celsius in my code.I needed a independent sub procedure to do my conversion, and a button that will Call the independent procedure to convert it. Here's my code so far
I am currently learning about Independent Sub Procedures and am having trouble Calling the Procedure back to execute in the program what would i put within the parameters near the Call function? Simple application get two numbers from two different textbox's and multiply those numbers and put the output into a label. Public Class Form1
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click 'Right Here Call CalcTotal()
Which is the best way (fast and robust) that .net framework (3.0/3.5) provide for interchange information (for example: dataset packages) between two independent vb.net applications?
