I am trying to figure out a calculation I can perform in C# to determine the rows per column. Let's say I know I am going to have 3 columns and my record count is 46. I know that I can mod the results to get a remainder, but I would like something more efficient than what I have tried. So I know I will have 16 rows per column with a remainder of 14 for the last column, but what is the best way to loop through the resutls and keep counts.
I ma trying to create a program to calculate my math grade. The way my math teacher explained the grading scale was each test is worth 1 point and each quiz is worth .2 points.
So as an example (add both sides up then divide by both sides)
100 =1 80 = 1 15 = .2 18 = .2
213 divide by 2.4 which equals your grade of 88.75
There are more quizs and tests in the semester and I want the numbers to change with the number of quizs and tests entered. The only problem is I am not sure how to code it. I though I would use IF AND statements but I am not sure where to start.

well i am having a couple of issues with this particular homework problem and this is my first programming class so there is probably quite a few mistakes well the homework problem is to take three double values entered by a user and display the largest and smallest using math.max and math.min and display the smallest and largest so i thought i could use a listbox and take the values that went to the listbox and assign variables to each so i can try to use each variable in the math.max and min but im not making it to far and i actually might be way off
How to calculate the no. of rows in the file which we have uploaded that might be either a text file or csv or excel file.Im using the code to get the records count like this:

but in some cases im getting wrong count. it is not showing the exact count.i should be able to get the count without looping each record in the file.
i have a datagridview with three columns. i set the first column to visible=false, so the user can only see two columns.when the user presses the tab key in the first visible column -- column(1), i want to ignore column(2) so that the user only tabs through the rows in column(1)i can't get it to work. it will always tabs through the rows in column(2) even if i use the column name.

I have a DataSet that contains 1 DataTable, and the DataTable contains only 1 row of data. I want to loop through all columns in that row and say:
Column name = column value
so for example if the column name is FAVORITE_FOOD and the value is pizza, I should display FAVORITE_FOOD = pizza I can get the column name from column.ColumnName and the value from Rows(0).Item(0), but for the life of me I can't put it all together in a simple loop.

I have this line of code to calculate a specific percentage of the Net Total:ROUND(Invoices.NetT*'" + txtOnGoing.Text + "'/100,2) As Commission 'txtOnGoing is a text box which pre populates a certain number e.g '10'... this means 10% of the NetT column..The above code works fine, now I want to add the "Commission" Column and display the Total in a text box. Does anyone know how to do this? I know I can use the SUM operator but because the Commission column isnt a column that actually exists in the table I dont know how I could do this.

I want to calculate the difference between 1st Value (B2) and last Value (last populated row in column B)

Using formula : =B2-B6 is not what's required. (I want diff in Cell C2)
I want when the user enters the value in B7 it automatically shows the difference between B2 and B7, when he populates B8 then it shows the diff between B2 and B8 and so on.. I don't want some direct method to do this in Excel and not by iterating all values to check the last value.
i am doing a small project for my business and i got stuck with this 2 weeks ago and still no progress.
I have an access db table "store" that has columns: (filldate,brand,model,plateno,mileage,litres) where i am storing these info each time a car in my company fills gas. For example (8/25/2011,Renault,Megane,5487844,3943,20).
What i want to do now is to display in a datagrid the total consumption of gas (litres) with the kilometers driven (mileage) between 2 dates.
But this code will add columns to every rows in the gridview. How can I change the code so that it only add the column to row one instead of every row?
I have a db with Column name Break. I have attached to my datagrid view and all that works and shows up correctly. However Im needing to put this code in a timer to get all the times in the Break Column but I need to get it from each and every row. For example:
Break 6:00am 7:00am 6:30am

I am trying to add the sum of a datagrid column to a textbox. There was a similir question in this forum but it doesnt add the sum of all the rows of that column to my textbox.

I need to find rows in resultsets that have every column without null.these resultsets got variable number of columns.currently, the only way that I can think of is creating a view on each resultset and filter this way:
select field1, field2, field3, field4, ... from "huge query" where field1 is not null and field2 is not null and

and then in a storeproc/function or .net code(c# / vb.net) loop through all rows / columns and flag or remove every row that got any null?
trying to understand DataGridView. I can sum columns with no problems and place the result in a textbox. My problem is multipling two column rows and saving it. I receive the following error when I go to save it. "Column mapping from source column failed because the data column is a computed column. So can I compute two column row to a third and save it, if so how. My code is below:
