I ma trying to create a program to calculate my math grade. The way my math teacher explained the grading scale was each test is worth 1 point and each quiz is worth .2 points.
So as an example (add both sides up then divide by both sides)
100 =1
80 = 1
15 = .2
18 = .2
213 divide by 2.4 which equals your grade of 88.75
There are more quizs and tests in the semester and I want the numbers to change with the number of quizs and tests entered. The only problem is I am not sure how to code it. I though I would use IF AND statements but I am not sure where to start.
I have coded this not sure how to get it to display correctly to the lblGrade box. I have set it up for. Supposed to take the average of three grades and display the letter grade for the average of the three grades.
Here is the code Public Class frmMain Private Function CalculateGrade _ (ByVal txtTest1 As Decimal, ByVal txtTest2 As Decimal, _ ByVal txtTest3 As Decimal) As String Dim AverageScore As Double [Code] .....
Write a program that reads in a set of grades for a class.The program takes in the number of students in the class from the user. When the Get Grades button is clicked the program then reads in a grade (0-100) for each student using an inputbox. The program should then display the percentage of students who pass and the percentage of students who fail.The program should call a function to calculate the average grade for the class. Then finally the result is then displayed.
Public Function GetPassRate(ByVal intGrade As Integer) As String Do Until gradeCounter >= NumericUpDown1.Text If intGrade >= 40 Then[code].......
The exercise prior to this one had us use two parallel arrays that store a letter grade (A, B, C, D, F) and the minimum points needed for each grade. The user input the points earned by the student and the program shows their letter grade. It took a minute, but I got that one done, and it does what it's supposed to do.This exercise has us modify that exercise to ask for the (via InputBox in MainForm Load event) total points possible. The grade is then determined by percentage of the total points possible. For instance, if x is the user input, an "A" would be 90% of x.
I am trying to figure out a calculation I can perform in C# to determine the rows per column. Let's say I know I am going to have 3 columns and my record count is 46. I know that I can mod the results to get a remainder, but I would like something more efficient than what I have tried. So I know I will have 16 rows per column with a remainder of 14 for the last column, but what is the best way to loop through the resutls and keep counts.
i am trying to create a small program that will calculate the miles between to postcodes.The way im doing this is to fill out a webform for each postcode and collect the returned Long/Lat values (i will then calculate the miles from that)
This all works well until my program freezes with no error message. It's after the same number of records as well and I don't know why.[code...]
I'm trying to code a program that averages a grade from a list box, but the numbers in the second list box could change, so not sure how to code that. It should list the letter grade and the average, then if they don't enter a grade, should tell you to enter a grade first before hitting the average button.
Public Class MainForm Dim ErrorMsg As String Dim intNum As Object
I am trying to make a simple program that utilizes lists, loops, arrays, and multiple forms. I started the program in which I have incorporated lists and loops already.A summary of my program; I am trying to be able to add a name to a combobox list, and assign a grade to that particular person (grade of A = 4, b = 3, ect ect). I am assuming I should utilize the array concept at this point when assigning the grade to the name, but I am not exactly sure what to do. I have attached a screen shot of my form, and I will post what code I do have so far.Also, when all the grades are entered with their corresponding names, I want to also have a summary screen pop-up with the names and which grades they received, plus the average.[code]
I have to write a program using 2 parallel arrays representing grade point and grades. The grade points range from 0 to 500, however, we are only to use the minimum points per each letter grade in " points " array. This is shown in the code below. You then enter a number from 1 to 500, representing the grade points, and in turn it spits out your letter grade.My problem is this. When I enter a number, say 200, I get a letter " D " grade instead of an " F " grade. It appears that every number range I enter gives me one letter grade less than what it is supposed to be. Also, any number 450 to 500, representing an " A " grade does not even register in my Grades Label.
well i am having a couple of issues with this particular homework problem and this is my first programming class so there is probably quite a few mistakes well the homework problem is to take three double values entered by a user and display the largest and smallest using math.max and math.min and display the smallest and largest so i thought i could use a listbox and take the values that went to the listbox and assign variables to each so i can try to use each variable in the math.max and min but im not making it to far and i actually might be way off
I have a module with generic constants, subs and functions.I would like to be able to use the module in multiple projects in one solution.I also want it to work like the class System.Math, where you do not need to declare and instance of the class before you can reference it.[code]I want to be able to call ClassLibrary1.MyGenerics.Half() just like I can call System.Math.Abs()
So I wanted to make a program for math where you enter a number into a box. Then you click enter. The program has numbers 1-12 next to a check box. If you click enter it divides your number by the numbers 1-12. Let's say you put 100 in that box. Then you clicked enter. The check box next to ten would be checked, 4, 2, and 5 would all be checked because those numbers evenly go into 100. How can I have the vb check to see if the sum is a whole number?
Haveing troubles with an assignment. I am writting code that will allow user to enter a score and the program returns a grade based on the score entered. I can get it to work using "IF" statements but want to use code for ranges. My "IF" code is as follows.......
I think for you my problem is very simple..I have done the same program in console mode without problem, now i try into windows form...
I generate by random 2 number A&B I multiply them and I will compare it with the result in my textbox3
if it the same as the computer has calculated il will show you congratulation, however i will say try again
I have a problem to calculate the sum, A&B are well generated but nothing in Calc Result
When Calc was working when I write nothing in the textbox3 and i click on Verify it show the msgbox congratulation.I'm looking just for this step, I've fixed the other issues And another things When It's right I would like to random another number for A&B after closing the msgbox, how can I processd ?

Im making a small tool that helps gamers keep track of their kills and deaths, and their kill/death ratio.I calculate ratio on startup of the program, straight after kills and deaths are loaded off my website.Dim ratio As Decimal ratio = Val(txt_kills.Text / txt_deaths.Text) At the moment, kills = 172 and deaths = 145. Ratio results in 1,1862068. How can I round this number up and turn this into a number with 2 integers after the dot? ( 1.19 ) I tried a hundred things so far but I cannot figure this out.
