View 1 RepliesI wrote a program that copied an image from the clipboard and stored it on a file. The machine I wrote it on ran Vista. When I copied the programs over to a computer running XP the program wouldn't recognize that there was an image on the clipboard. It will recognize that there is text on the clipboard but not images. When I transfer the programs over to a computer running Windows 7 it works just like it did on the Vista machine. So I figure the problem is somehow related to the XP operating system. But how? Lots of programs I use on the XP machine can copy images to and from the clipboard. So why can't the one I wrote in Visual Basic?

How would I change the regex string so that it leaves off everthing from the img to the src=, so that I'm just left with what's in between the quotes? Note that sometimes there is stuff between "img" and "src=" and sometimes there is not.
I would like to search an online (internet) database and import the result in my own Windows program. As I understand from reading and searching I first have to do a get from the default (search) page to get the cookies for instance and then do a post providing the filled input fields and adding the previously collected cookies. So far getting the information seems to work but submitting the data back to get the actual search result doesn't seem to work. The code that I am using to query the Status of the Websites is failing to report the correct status of the website; by status of the website, I mean, if it is accessible from any browser.
I got a timer that triggers the following

Basically the webresponse is supposed to turn the textbox5 color to "coral" if the website is up and running or accessible, and turn the textbox5 red if the website is down. What is happening is that all the time the timer is triggered, the text box5 turns coral or "good connection" even if I entered a website that does not exist, Then after 3 minutes I get and exception error that states: The operation has timed out.
Basically, I just need a way to query the site and interpret the response by turning the textbox5 to color red in case the website is inaccessible or down.
Im looking for tutorials on httpwebrequest and httpwebresponse. Im actually using chilkatsoft http which makes it quite easier.

I'd like to use the webrequest webresponse method to test for the existence of a file.If the first file is there, then I want to test for the existance of the same filename with -1.htm appended to it. If that filename exists, then test for filname-2.htm This continues until the filename being tested comes back 404 error. At which point, the program does NOT blow up, but the do until loop stops and the code continues. I have to search for a link on each one of the pages found once I have determined how many pages there are.How do I test for a file and not have it blow up? It has to loop and it goes through at least once. this is code I wrote. Right now the page just keeps going and going. IE's little logo on the page tab keep going around in a circle like it's in an endless loop.

I'm stuck with .Net Framework 2.0, so no Linq or lambda expression goodies for me. Also I want to include the code in my custom library and not just reference it. Can anyone point me to some good library or code.
I just need to parse and not evaluate the expression and find what tokens are in use. After finding the tokens I need to change the expression string before parsing, like if the function ORGVAL is used then the parameter passed has has to be prefixed by an underscore. Like ORGVAL(BAS) will transform to ORGVAL(_BAS). Some functions can have tow parameters like ORGVAL(BAS, "2012/12/31") and this will transform to ORGVAL(_BAS, "2012/12/31")
NOTE: IF THERE ARE OTHER WAYS OF DOING IT PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I WOULD LOVE TO AVOID A PARSER AND LEXER.
i am using this code below to compare two strings then count the no. of mistakes when text is added into textbox2[code]but when enter key is pressed the code doesn't recognize the enter even thought it is correct and counts it as a mistake.

I have a PDF file with n pages, I need to split it to n files. On each page I have barcode, I need to recognize/read barcode. If I have two files with the same barcode I need to merge them.Can anyone recommend an .net component or exe or something else that will help me? View 4 Repliesi would like to be able to type a complete word, and if that word is in my list of sound wav's, then to play that wav.. basically, i need it to find the space before the word and the space after, so when i press the spacebar, it will only try to locate the last word in between those spaces, and if the word is tru , then it would say tru , if i type in tru jade, it would say tru . . then say jade .also, if possible, to pick up the first typed word also, which would not contain the space before it.. how to get my app to recognize my voice after i name it pookie ,so when i say " pookie, load vb ", it would say, " sure tru jade, you are the best, of course i wil l " and shut down my p.c.
the loading of the app should not be a problem for me.just getting my app to listen for pookie, and a command..links are also welcomed to other good pookie sites..

That sets the current time to ToolStripLabel1.Text it looks like: 10:25 PM. Then I made another timer, realizing I couldn't interact with Toolstriplabel1.text because the time contains " : and PM", and this timer does this:

Basically it takes the value of toolstriplabel1 which would be "10" it gives a variable 1-12 in accordance with the current time. Then I have another timer that handles the main process, and in My.settings I have a variable:

So I was going to use My.settings.12hourspassed as a variable such as My.settings.12hourspassed = My.settings.12hourspassed + 1 - whenever the time (textbox48.text) goes to 12.

The problem is that I cant do textbox48.text = "1" because another timer is making it the value of the current time.. So whenever textbox48.text = 12 it constantly does: My.settings.12hourspassed = My.settings.12hourspassed + 1...
I know that this method completely skips an hour and such.. accuracy isnt all that huge. Any way to tick off whenever 12 hours have passed? and if the program is turned off a way to compare the current date with the date the program turned off at to see how much time has passed while the program is off?

I have written an vb.net application, named vbapp.exe. And I would like to use vbapp.exe to shell an external .exe file and this external .exe will create a file in the folder in which the external .exe file is located.However, the external .exe file will not recognize its own folder, on the contrary, it will think that its own folder is where the vb application, vbapp.exe, is located.

So I wrote a program, which goes thru the authentication of a website, using a 'webbrowser' element within the program, however, when I want to open a page in an other browser e.g.: Firefox after I went thru with the Auth. in the application , it seems as there have been no authentication at all.
Do I need to set something with the cookies? Or how would firefox know that I am already logged on on another browser? all is in Visual Basic 2008.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a program that will be able to recognize handwritten numbers in a picture. Right now, the program locates a rectangle that the numbers are in. The numbers will generally be in the range between 0 and 9000. I have found some stuff about ink recognition, but I dont think that is the same. Also, is there anyway to be able to make the program 'learn' from the style of the handwriting? I'm using VB.net 2008
