I have a standard scoring algorithm but I need to help on a piece of code to only execute the scoring algorithm at certain times.I want it to be triggered by dates, but the problem arises if the program is used after 2 (or more) dates have passed, the first date will not be added as the second date is the newest and therefore the one that triggers the scoring algorithm. - The scoring algorithm gets the scores for that week, which are stored in a text file.

In my VB.NET code I construct a ODBC.COMMAND to call a stored procedure that eliminates a record from table in SQLSERVER 2008, I use this code in a FOR NEXT loop, it may contain 1 to 20 records_ID to pass to stored procedures to delete the records.
This code work well for several months, but since the last compilation it only deletes the first 2 records.
In debug mode in VS 2008 IDE works fine.

my situation is this; I have a search button which searches records with Surnames, when two or more records have the same surname, the first record appears and 4 navigational buttons appear, they are 'Go back to first record' (btnFirst), 'go back one' (btnPrevious), 'go forward one' (btnNext) and 'go to the last one (btnLast)'. All of these work properly except for 'go back one' (btnPrevious). When I click this and the record is currently the first one, the program crashes. I am starting to debudg my application in depth, and have realised that at certian points, if you close what appears to be the only open form, the application stays open. I was just wondering if there exists somewhere, a list of all open forms that you can view during debugging?Alternatively, is there a quick piece of code to close all non visible forms?

Update: We eventually switched java and used the Jung libraries because this was easier for us to understand and implement.

i've created a dance mat game similar to Dance Dance Revolution. It has 4 arrows and when no step is taken it's a binary value 1111. When the up arrow is stepped on the binary value is 1110. I'm having problems with my scoring guide. I'm using streamwriter and streamreader to record the time stamp and the binary value of each step taken and once the game is done I have the file display the timestamps and the binary values. For right now I just want it to add one point for whenever it registers a step taken. This is the code I have that records the timestamp and the binary value. lblBit Value is the value that changes from a 1 to 0 binary. [code] It won't register lblBitVal in this form. It says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Also, this only adds 1 if there is a file opened. I need to it read the file and at least add a point for each time stamp that is recorded.Let me know if you guys know how I can go about this since my game is almost complete.

I am creating a game which has a simple score system which I don't understand why it isn't working the way I want it to. When loading the game the User starts with 10 credits and for every time they run the game it costs 2 credits
This is my code for this below

intGamesPlayed += 1
intCredits = intCredits - 2
It has no errors but it doesn't take away the credits each time the game is played besides the first time. So when I run the game it will go to 8 credits, and it will stay on 8 credits even if I run the game again.

I came to a company that already has a fully grown project... but coders that worked here before me didn't follow conventions and didn't use parametrized SQL queries... as a result there is over 1000 places in a very huge project that can possibly be vulnerable to SQL injection...
I need to find a solution that will automatically detect if there is an SQL injection in the code. So, for example there is a form which allows user to enter comments regarding a product, which will be sent to database on submit... how can we make sure that a user didn't enter a harmfull query instead of a normal text?
Is there any advanced code/regular expression/magic that can detect if this text contains a piece of SQL query instead of normal harmless text? I will accept any links, pieces of code in any language or even commercial software that will do that for me.

I want to be able to use this code (with calculated param as True) with initBit of 20 or more.
