i am having a weird issue with VS 2008 when i go to debug my program. When i click on the play button to run the program it flashes real quick and goes back to the VB IDE. No matter how many times i click on the play button it continually flashes and then goes back without displaying my form window or anything.What type of setting would i need to change in order to correct this issue? I've been through most settings in the "my project" section and i do not see anything that could be causing it to do something like this.My older vb apps I've made seem to work just fine when i click the play button on them. Only noticed this problem whenever i go and make a new vb app.

I have a project based in VB.net and WPF 4. My program has a "launchpad" screen with buttons like "Play" "Demos" "User Manual" "Quit", etc.I have an uninstall button on this menu, too. So I've got this context menu working out except that the event behind the actual selection of the menu item seems to fire multiple times. First time I click it, it fires once, then twice, then 3 times. So, in the example I just gave, for 3 clicks it would have fired a total of 6 times (1 + 2 + 3). Why is that?
Below is my code on how I'm creating the menu items. I stripped it down to the relevant pieces; I omitted things like .Tag, .Visible, and .Caption properties. I'm building this using .NET 3.5 and VS 2008.

The bulk of the program is running in the background retrieving variables from serial ports, APIs, and the like. The user would select a task in the form of a toolbox button which pops up a dialog to enter task parameters. An accept button would add the task with the parameters to a list. The user would add more tasks to the list as necessary, and then click an 'Execute' button to start the sequence of tasks. The program would then perform the first task with the given parameters until finished, and then start the next task in the sequence and so on.
An example task would be:

A Parameter dialog opens and a destination is entered in the form of GPS coordinates. At run-time the task compares its current GPS position with the position entered in the parameter dialog. It calculates the direction to go and drives the motors accordingly. This particular task would loop until current position = destination position. Move on to next task. The code within the tasks themselves is not the problem, just the execution of the tasks.
I have a UserControl, we'll call it myUC, that is one among several UserControls in the main window(myWindow) of my WPF application. myUC contains a number of standard controls, one of them being a button, we'll call it myButton.
When I click myButton, I would like to execute myMethod, which exists in the code-behind of myWindow.
The problem being that myUC doesn't have any idea that myWindow even exists, much less that myMethod exists.
How can I send the message: 'Hey, myWindow, wake up. myButton on myUc was just clicked; run myMethod'?

This is what it does...Page1.aspx loads, then you push a button on the page, and that button then does this: Response.redirect("Page2.aspx")
But first, it does Page1's load event, then it does the btn.Click event, THEN it does Page2.aspx's load event... Is there a way to force it to not do Page1's load event, and just make it execute the button click, and the page2's load event?

In my VB.NET code I construct a ODBC.COMMAND to call a stored procedure that eliminates a record from table in SQLSERVER 2008, I use this code in a FOR NEXT loop, it may contain 1 to 20 records_ID to pass to stored procedures to delete the records.
This code work well for several months, but since the last compilation it only deletes the first 2 records.
In debug mode in VS 2008 IDE works fine.

I am creating a visual basic program, which acts as a very simple GUI for another program. I have built the whole Visual Basic project, but I am unable to do one part, the most important part you could say. I have a button (button1) on a form, when the button is clicked, I want it to run a program, named 'mover.exe' which is located in the SAME FOLDER that my visual basic program will run from. The directory of this folder will change. So, there are two problems I have:
1 - To make the program run the .exe program when button1 is clicked (it also must be run with administrative privileges).
2 - To make the program always look for 'mover.exe' in the folder in which it is started from.
How can I make a program so you click a button and select a File using a OpenFileDialog and click send on your computer and it will send the file to a different computer and then a SaveFileDialog will show asking where to save the file on the other computer. Oh ya I cant use WinSock or whatever becuase im using Windows Vista 64 Bit. I need it because I for some reason cant use printer sharing. It might be because im on A 64bit Vista Machine and I want to print a file off of a 32bit XP Home Machine.
