Populate Datagrid With Records From Database In Comboboxes

I am developing a Windows application in Visual Studio 2005, V2.0 using VB.NET. I am coding part of an Emergency Response Information System. On my form, I have two combo boxes (cboBaseStationID and cboPriority). I am trying to populate the datagrid with records from my database based on what is selected in both comboboxes.
For the first combobox, the user selects a name so the datagrid must only show records with that name. For the second combobox, this is a little more complicated. There are four emergency priorities in the combobox that the user can choose - 1, 2, 3, 4. In the database, there are different response teams (to be dispatched to these emergencies) and each response team has a grade of either 1, 2 or 3. [Code]
I'm new to databases and am working on a database program. It was written in vb6 and im trying to rewrite it in vb.net. I've completely stripped the program down from all the unneeded fancy addons and now just have the needed code to run it.
So I've been playing around with SQL strings in VB 2008, and trying to retrieve records from a database and display them in a data grid view. This is the part of the code that gets the fields and displays them in the data grid view:
I am using VB 2008 Express and have created an application that connects to a SQL database to populate a datagrid.The application is working properly on my computer but will not on others 'remote connection permissions' error.After some googleing I found that the express version is crippled to only work on local machines that use a database.If I purchase Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, import and rebuild my application, will my application be able to run properly on other PC's?
I'm new to visual basic 2010 ultimate. I want to make a search button to "search" ms access 2007 database for specific data and display the results in datagridview. I also want to display the data to textboxes.
I am trying to move over vb6 code that worked through arrays of comboboxes.I have a panel that has 18 comboboxes that each need to be populated the same.I first clear the combo boxes and it loops through them, but keeps going until it gets an error.Likewise on sFillLotNO, it adds the first foundrow to each but bombs out when it tries to get the 19th.[code]
how you populate cascading comboboxes? I have one combobox on one form, from which I'm trying to populate another combobox on another form. The first combobox contains Locations while the second combobox contains offices for whichever location is selected in the first combobox. I would like it to work as follows: user clicks on first combobox to select a location, and then the second combobox lists all the offices for that location.As of right now, the second combobox is just displaying the first office that is in the first record for the respective database table it is pulling from.
I have a form that lists all of the clients in a DataGridView and when I click on a column that is a Link I want the data to populate into the form I use to capture. My problem is that when I click on the link all the TextBoxes on the form are filled correctly but my ComboBoxes are not.[code]
How I can populate a combobox (combobox2) based on the selection made from another combobox (combobox1)? They are on different forms. Combobox1 lists locations, while combobox2 lists offices for each location. I would like it to work so that when the user clicks on combobox1 and makes a selection, the 2nd form loads with combobox2 showing all the offices for the selected location.
I have four comboboxes in my Ist form related to course as.c_type,c_stream,c_major,c_nature.......combobox c_type contains the type of courses like degree,diploma, PG etc,similarly "c_stream" contains stream like engg,medical etc. further c_major contains all courses like computer engg(CE),mechnical(ME), physiotherapy etc. and last c_nature has course nature whether regular or private or distance.Now situation is when i select diploma from c_type, corresponding options must be populate in c_stream like engg. And now when i select engg., CE or ME must be there in c_major combobox .Same is for C_nature.The all 4 combobox must show "please select" text on form load event..i also have 2nd form where i have same combobxs. so is there any way to call the same code without again writing that to 2nd form.
I"ve created a form with three comboboxes and a datagrid. I've connect the comboboxes to the database and they all work but when i try and fill the datagrid based on the final selection from the last commbobox but it will not populate the datagridview..
I have a datagridview with transaction bindingsource I want the datagrid to show the sorted rows only not all the records when i enter a value into a textbox and click button sort.
I have a DataGridView control that is bound to a dataset that I set up in design mode. This grid will contain addresses for a client. The relationship is 1 client to many addresses. So, when the user selects a client, I wish for this grid to populate with only the address records for that client. How do I set up in code a way for the grid to recognize this?

Well that's the code am using but am kind stuck i want to select all records in the database where i select the month from a combo-box control it displays the records of that given month.the code above can be able to populate all records in the month of may(in a list-view control) how do i go bout that?hoping you'll get back to me ASAP am doing ma final project in college which am presenting in two days time. as part of the requirement the system should be able to populate managerial reports.(Say Monthly,Daily And annual).
I can retrieve records from my Database fine, but I'm having trouble updating records. I am getting a syntax error on [code] I get this error when I change the Last Name (Row 0, Column 1). [code]
I am using Visual Basic in Visual Studio Express 2008. I am creating a form that works with an Access database which has five tables, though for purposes of my problem I will only mention two of the tables: Customer and Project.
The Customer table contains basic customer info, with a unique ID auto-number. The Project table describes relationships between two customers. There is a Primary ID number and a Secondary ID number, both of which correspond to an ID number from the Customer table. Any given ID number can exist as a Primary or Secondary ID, so if "Bob's Company" ID is 1, and "Fred's Company" ID is 2, there can be two projects, one having "Bob's Company" as Primary and "Fred's Company" as Secondary, and the other vice versa.
The user navigates through the Customer table by means of a combo box. They choose one customer name from the box, which populates a label with that customer's ID number. I have a View Projects button with the intent that once the user chooses the company, they can click View Projects and a DataGrid will appear which contains only the records from the Project table in which this specific Customer number appears (either as Primary or Secondary). So basically, with all that explanation, I'm trying to figure out how to get the View Projects button to take the CustomerIDLabel.Text and use that to populate the DataGrid.[code]...

So basically, if the user selects emergency priority of '4', then only grade 3 teams can be displayed. I am using two different tables in the datagrid. The datagrid is populating at the moment, but not based on anything that is selected in the comboboxes. It just displays a lot of duplicates of all the records in the tables. I am using datagrid in one of my winform in which there is one column which has combobox cell type.I want to populate this combobox by data from table present in database.Tell me the shortest possible way to achieve this.
My problem is that I can't populate a datgrid with the contents of a dataset. Having searched for the last few days to try and resolve this, I have given up and thought I would try here. I am using Visual Studio 2010 and attempting to create a WPF application. As you can tell from the code I am very new to this and any suggestions for improvement will be most welcome. I can see that the dataset is populated ok via the visualizer, I have a datagrid 'dgBOM' which I want to display the results. A popular solution in my searches was to add '.DataSource' but when I type the '.' after dgBOM the Datasource option is not there.
