DataGridview Show Custom ContextMenuStrip On Cell That Is Being Edited?
Sep 19, 2011I'm trying to show a custom contextmenustrip on my datagridview and it works fine except when the cell is being being edited. Then it shows the default windows contextmenustrip with copy/cut/..Is there a way to overwrite the DataGridViewTextBoxCell contextmenustrip or disable it? The solution from Disable DataGridView System ContextMenu does'nt work for me.

Form Always Opens As Edited?
Feb 22, 2012I am using VS 2008, Windows XP R3, and Visual Basic.When I open some forms in the form designer, (In Solution Explorer, right click on the form, then select View Designer) the form always opens as Edited. An Asterisk "*" appears after the form name in the open window tabs. If I open the form to just view the code (In Solution Explorer, right click on the form, then select View Code), the form opens normally. This happens for just some forms.
It always happens for the same forms, and never happens for the other forms. What I am missing in those forms where the designer always thinks the form has been edited?

I just want that my sql files should not be allowed to be edited once i install my app on some other computer through say "sql server management studio express". Also is it possible that the user is able to run my app without needing to install "sql server" can i convert my files into some other format so that nobody is able to open them and edit them

Now I wish to change one of these fields. I edited one and then clicked on the Edit button to update the record. It's not updated but instead it brings the existing value from the text box.

Retrieve Data From A Datagridview Loaded With Data From A Linq Database
Apr 9, 2010I have three tables in SQL server which I would like to show and access on a form. Table 1 contains account data, address, contact details etc. Table two contains data attached to a Person, tel no , Mobile no, Email etc. Table three contains details on what awards the person holds, i.e. one person can hold several awards.
Therefore I have a one many relationship between the first two tables and a one many relationship between the second two tables. This is set up in SQL
The first two tables are shown on a form, table 1 via a set of text boxes, table 2 via a datagrid control.
I would like the functionality whereby I could select a row in the datagrid showing the persons name and find the Persons_ID number then use that as a filter to a second datagrid view so that only the selected persons awards show in the datagrid.

Dec 15, 2011I'm writing a program for my job in which we are keeping track of employees usage of food at work. The form in question interacts with an access database to a binded control with labels and textboxes. This form I'm working on is the user view which doesn't allow them to input their username, I have the user name saved to a variable but it will not display when I the add a new record. I tried many things but I'm just getting frustrated.
Is there away to add data to a row that is not displayed on the screen in a textbox for the user to see? There are 3 different "cells" (textboxes) I want to be filled in by other code without the users knowledge.
I'm currently using MSAccess 2010 and Visual Studio.net 2010
