Pulling Mouse Location In A Handler Without MouseEventArgs
Feb 21, 2010
hammering away here to understand how it all fits together... I have a button click event handler within which I'd like to extract the position of the mouse when the button was clicked. The handler receives sender as a System.Object and e as a System.EventArgs object
I finished every piece of code in my program save for one tid bit, how to pull two numbers from a text file. I know how to pull lines, I know how to pull search strings, but I cant figure out this one to save my life.[code]The two numbers that I need out of this are the two ones that I put in the **'s (the asterisks are not normally there). These numbers will be different every time this sheet is generated, and the number placement might be different as well as some of the numbers could have 4 digits, 5 digits, or 6 digits.

I downloaded and installed VS2010 yesterday, and converted the app to VB2010.
The app works correctly except for one problem. I have a label array which has two event handlers defined, one for a double click and one for mouse down.
A double click is ignored and the mouse down event is raised. It shows the left button was clicked once.
If I comment out the mouse down handler, the double click event is raised and it shows left button was clicked twice.
What i want to accomplish is allow a user to double click an array element on the screen which then saves the number associated with that element and then click somewhere else to copy the data or alternatively, drag and drop the element to the new location.
The drag operation on the source element always triggers a mouse down, but so does the first of the two clicks in a double click.
It seems that none of the other newer events are raised, eg GiveFeedbackEvent, QueryContinueDrag, DragOver, etc.
So, how do I trap a double click and a drag start without using the mousedown event for the dragstart?
I have a context menu which is shown over a DataGridView as follows below. The Context menu is shown if the mouse up occurs over the second column of the DataGridView. I also have a bunch of event handlers set up for each item in the context menu. I now want to pass the location of the cell in the datagridview to the event handlers.Do I have to pass the NewPoint() to a public variable and then translate that into a cell location within the event handler?
Private Sub DataGridView14_MouseUp(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As MouseEventArgs) Handles DataGridView14.MouseUp Dim hitTestInfo As DataGridView.HitTestInfo
I have a Windows form in VS2010 with a rectangular area that I draw in with Graphics.DrawImage for best performance. I want to create a Mouse-move event handler just for that area (to change the cursor when the mouse is inside it), along the lines of handlers for the other controls on the form. But since the rectangle isn't a PictureBox or Panel or other control, I don't see an obvious way to handle it. A mouse-move event handler for the entire form could affect the performance of the app.
I have 2 listboxes on a form. Each listbox has a few items. As you know, I am able to have 1 item selected from each listbox, therefore making it 2 selected items from different listboxes.
I want to create a keyboard + mouse shortcut so I can de-select or change the selection mode of the listbox when Alt is held down and Left button on the mouse is clicked on the selected item. Here is the code that I wrote, which does not work.
Private Sub Form1_MouseDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles Me.MouseDown If Control.ModifierKeys = Keys.Alt AndAlso e.Button =
I researched this and found I had to use something called "ScreenToClient" [URL]...what I want to do is to have a picture box that I can just get the coords from easily (for example 0,0 bottom left hand corner)
So how do I get that to work? (im guessing something like comparing the picturebox size to the form size then working it out but im not quite sure how to do that.)
I have a country map in a picture box with provincial divisions. I can fill each province on mouse over by calling following floodfill function on my pictureBox MouseMove event[code]...
I want to get the border of the form when its load but how? Then I'll compare between the form location and the mouse ,if the mouse out of the form, the visibility is false when the mouse move or key press up /down and become in the form border, the form visibility must be true. How to find the x and y values to the form?
I need to know how to get the position of the mouse within a picturebox just as you would with e.location, but you can't use e.location with a picturebox and you also can't use Picturebox.Mouseposition which is very unfortunate.
I have a combobox that drops up instead of down. I'm setting the selected item to the one on top of the list. I'd like to move my mouse pointer to point to it, so that the user that wants to click on that item doesn't have to move his mouse. I found how to move the pointer, it is with this command:
Windows.Forms.Cursor.Position = New System.Drawing.Point(x,y)
but I need to know how to get the location of the selected item in the combobox.
The code bellow should perform a mouse click at the location the cursor is pointed, however it only activates the control from that location.
Imports System.IO Public Class Form1 Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form Declare Auto Function sendclick Lib "user32.dll" Alias "SendInput"_ (ByVal nCommands As Long, ByVal iCommand As MOUSECOMMAND, _ ByVal cSize As Long) As Long [Code] .....
I would like to get the color of a pixel at my current mouse location, when the mouse is clicked. The location is anything on the screen, not just a jpg, gif, png, etc..
How can I move the mouse to a pixel location of a program?[code]I know it doesn't work, but I'm trying to make it easier to understand what I'm trying to do.
How can I make an autoclicker that senses when the mouse is moving and when it stops it automatically clicks. Such as every single second it checks for the mouses location and if the mouse is in the same location for 4 seconds it automatically clicks.
I would love some help on how to get a DataGridView's Row & Column location on a mouse double click. My program requires that I dynamically add n-number of tabpages with DGV's so I declare my own class that inherits TabPages and creates its own DGV control.
For the code below I use a simple form (form1), add a tabcontrol via the forms designer (tabcontrol1) to it and remove the two default tabpages keeping the basic tabcontrol.
Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellMouseEventArgs'.

I'm having a problem getting the src of the image the mouse is hovering over in a webbrowser. I can get an href just fine, just not an src. To get the href, I used this
I'm currently working on updating an ms access database by using this code:the error is: System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs
I don't know what is it, can you help me solve my problem, adding, deleting, listing, searching for records is already working. If I can finish this update then I can proceed with the system that we are doing for a company for our school project
I have two custom action listers. One that handles Mouse.Click and one that handles Mouse.MouseDown. My question to you is, can I delay the mouse down event so that it does not intefere with the code of the Mouse.Click event? I have tried adding a timer and waiting x amount then setting a bool value to true, but the code executes to fast and it skips the other code.
i am using an unbound datagridview so i can dynamiclly add rows. all that is working fine. but the grid is not is the location i have coded.. i am using the defualt form as a base then coding the unbound stuff in.. should i just create a blank class file and do everything? the only problem i am having is the grid must bees in the correct location according to the pixel point that i have given it. Right now it is placing the grid at point (0,0) no matter what point is entered on the line for location. so what am i missing??????
