I have a datatimepicker1 on the form and want to display the result dataset in the datagrid view.So I use query builder in the dataset designer to put "@PickDate" in the filter of PickupDate.And i use the following code to get the result and show in datagrid.But it is not working.Actually I don't know what syntax to use for the date parameter.

I want to query an access database with variable data defined by the user. The "Search" criteria would be in a textbox. I made a query like

I am working on a text-based game and as your character moves, you get informations such as the room name and below, a description (Lorem ipsum in the example) which is an array of string. I would like to know how to append characters to it. I am actually trying to display a minimap made of ASCII character. See the second bloc code for an example.

The desired output must be an array of strings because this data is later send to a client connected using sockets.

i was wondering if there was something i can use in VB which will let me have some fields in the DGV query to automatically have the format of 0.0000? There are some fields in that query which require this format. The Crystal Reports that accesses it gives incorrect info without this format type.
View 6 RepliesSo there's this accounting package at my client that spits out text-based reports with invalid dates, like February 31st or September 31st.The reports are formatted with spaces and mono-spaced fonts. The data that gets parsed out are fed into a more formal local SSRS report, and that's about all you need to know.
What I am interested in fixing is the situation where a date is invalid and can't be converted into a DateTime struct. The date format from the report is "MMM-dd-yy" (e.g. "Feb-30-10"). The date strings need to be fixed before being shown in the formal report. I've seen this done two ways in my time as a developer, and I want to come up with a cleverer way of doing it (if there isn't a built-in way I don't know about).The first bad method (I can't believe I'm even showing you!):
