i m using access data base , when i add new record it will inserted in database but it will not effected in gridview after closing the form window and reopen the form record is displayed in gridview. I can use gridview.refresh() but it cant work?

After I click the "Update" button, it update the gridview data to database.But the gridview data cannot auto refresh, it still show data before amendment.I need to go back the page again to see updated data. What's the problem ? I had already Bind data after updating...

I have three dropdown list boxes and a gridview. The gridview shows data based on what is entered in the dropdown list boxes. I have added a button that allows the user to insert a record into the database and then the page refreshes. The problem is that when the page refreshes the gridview goes back to whatever was initially in the dropdown list boxes when I first brought up the page. Is there a way to refresh and maintain the data in the list boxes so the gridview shows the same data? My code is below.

I have added a handler in my code for the bindingsource currentchanged event: I have populated a datagridview. I now need to update the database on gridview page chage so that textbox values are not lost. I put window.opener.document.forms[0].submit(); into the PageIndexChanging event of the datagrid, but it does not refresh the parent window. Refreshing the parent window with the order lines helps the user see what they have already ordered. My update database method runs fine, just not the parent browser refresh. I have a mdi container, that has several forms (childrens), one of those forms has only one datagridview, to show data, from an datatable...Image There're several image columns in the form.
To debug the process i created a new project only with one form and put everything working, and the images in the columns were just fine.
Then i "copied" the code to my application to the mdi children form, but the images doesn't show up.
After spending some hours trying to figure out what i was doing wrong i finally came to conclusion that the problem it's in the form/datagridview, that doesn't paint/refresh the images correctly if the form it's a mdi children...
There's something that i'm missing here? There's some event that prevent or override the images that i set? I need to put this to work, but i don't see how.
i use this gridview to save data to database. but everytime i save, the only data that saved was checkbox that i was recently checked. so checkbox that was supposed checked not saved to database. [code]

Report creation and initial data load is fine.. but when i do any change to data and when i pull the report again, it does not getting refresh and still shows the old data.

I am working with vb.net 2010 SQL express 2008 and ReportViewer. I have created a form that a user can add, edit and delete data which is all stored in an SQL db. I am printing out reports for the user with ReportViewer. The issue I am encountering now is that at runtime if I make any changes and decided to view the changes via a report with ReportViewer, the change will not reflect. I have to close the program and open it up again so that I can view the changes. What do I have to do in order to view the changes view ReportViewer during runtime? This is my code:

View 9 RepliesOn my Winforms app, I have a primary form with a DataGridView bound to a database Entity datasource.
The grid is set up not to allow inserts. Instead I have a button on my form that kicks of a second dialog where the insert takes place (ie. with friendlier ui than is possible with the DataGridView).
The insert is working fine.. query of the underlying table in db shows that the record has been inserted. However, I can't seem to get the DataGridView on the primary form to see the new data just created by the second dialog.
I have read many Stack Overflow q & a's and tried various solutions to get the DataGridView to refresh to show new data.. but nothing works.
This must be a common situation ?? Can someone suggest some VB.NET code that will work ?
