MyCaptureGraphBuilder.SetOutputFileName(MediaSubType.Avi, FilePath, pMux,
how can i save the file in wmv format? Nothing)
I have the following code found on internet:
Const WM_CAP_START = &H400S
Const WM_CAP_EDIT_COPY = WM_CAP_START + 30
'The first step is to recognize that the video captured by the web cam can be saved as individual images. By displaying a series of continuous images on the client, it is similar to watching a video stream. To capture an image, I have defined the following subroutine:
'---save the video data into the Image global variable---
Public Sub CaptureImage()
Dim data As IDataObject
Dim bmap As Image
Dim ms As New IO.MemoryStream()
'---copy the image to the clipboard---
[Code] .....
The problem is the code fail to retrieve the image from clipboard? What I'm trying to do is connect to a webcam, then save the video stream file on this webcam as bitmap file before transfer to the client side as an array of bytes.
I have created a really quick program which takes several screen shots per second of a section of a screen, What i need is to get all the images and put them into a video format file.
View 1 RepliesVisual Basic has a function that allows a video from a webcam to be saved as .AVI file which inherently is too large for data transfer over the internet. I would like to know if there is a function that allows the video to be saved as a .WMV, or a .FLV file so its smaller and allowed to be transfered over the net. Here is a snippet of the code i am using

Does anyone know how to capture (Record) the Windows desktop and save it as a '.avi' or '.mpg' file. This functionality can be done using screen capture / presentation programs like SnagIT:[URL]..I have found many examples showing how to capture from a webcam using the 'avicap32.dll' DLL file but these dont help with this problem.
If you are asking why i dont just use SnagIT its because the interface is overly complex and building my own version would allow me to intergrate it into my existing programs.
I am trying to upload and convert video files then retrieve the filepath. I successfully managed to upload and save the filepath, but I am trying to add the converting functionality. The code I have so far is below.
Protected Sub btnUpload_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnConfirm.Click
If IsPostBack Then
Dim path As String = Server.MapPath("~/UploadedVideos/")
[code].....
im using this code
Dim VideoSize As Size = New Size(My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Width, My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Height)
Dim PIC As New Bitmap(My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Width, My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Height)
Dim image As System.Drawing.Graphics = System.Drawing.Graphics.FromImage(PIC)
[code]...
How do I include the cursor with this and save all the screenshots as one video file?instead of saving as 1000 pics?
How can I save or convert a word 2003 file to PDF format? Is there a way that i can save a doc file to PDF format through vb.net?I try to use : "office.Word.WdSaveFormat.wdFormatPDF" but didn't work.
View 6 RepliesI'm trying to save a text file with a certain format, kind of trying to create some sort of colums, so when I open it will be easier to read...If I have these four words: Calendar, Car, Time, Airplane; I would like to put them into colums...
vb.net
oWriter.WriteLine("{0,50}{1,10}", "Calendar", "Airplane")
oWriter.WriteLine("{0,50}{1,10}", "Time", "Car")
The problem:When I save it to a text file or print it, it comes out like this:Calendar AirplaneTime CarHow can I put them like "centered", so that doesn't look like that mess...?
I'm developing a small application that creates Excel files with user details. I'm developing this in vb.net 2008 express edition under Windows XP SP2 and with Office 2003.My target PC is running Windows Vista. I'm able to run my program without any problem and even the Excel files get created without any problem on this PC.However, the problem is when I try to open one of these created files in Vista, I get a message like below:
"The file you are trying to open, "TestMe.xls", is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?" If I click yes, it opens up properly. This is a headache as it opens up in my developing PC without any hassle. I'm sure its something to do with the Excel reference I've made in my PC (which is running Office 2003).How best can I save this file so it opens up in Excel 2007 without the above message.
i want to open dds files using vb.net i know file format of dds..can some give me tutorial or a link to tutorial on how to declare file formats and then open and save them edit any format.

I work in an engineering design house and programming is not my actual profession. And I am relatively new to VB .net (previous i had worked in vb 6)
I am working on an in house application. I am coding a simple application in vb .net. This applications takes a few inputs from user and calculates a result. Now I want to implement a simple functionality that user should be able to save the input and results just like most of the windows programs can in a new file format. And user should be able to open the save file when desired.
How I can save a text in visual basic in a word file with specific format like font size or color or other format??
View 6 Repliesis there any components that can convert swf to avi (or other format)? I found some, but they are too expensive, more than $2000!

View 2 RepliesThis is probably a pretty novice design question. I'm trying to work my way through a number of requirements and give the users the experience they're looking for.I've written a tool that does big calcluation-type things. It currently consists of a class library and command line tool (separate .NET projects.) We're using an Access database format as the file type because it can keep all the various tables together in one file. A few other items about the application: There are not many users. There are no concerns with scalability. There are not great concerns with updates. Desktop is desired. Not web.Using VB and .NET 3.5 SP1
I now need to develop a GUI front end that will allow typical File/Open and File/Save type operations.Users expect that they can open a file, edit it some, then either choose to save it or close it unsaved without any changes being written back to the file. Saving it would obviously save all changes affecting all tables back to the file.
Does it then make sense to use a temp file for something like a proxy then? To, when a user "opens" a file, copy the source Access file to a local temp file and then use that for the editing session? Then, if the user "saves", copy the local temp file back to the source path?
Update: [tagged with ms-access tag too] Also, I omitted the fact that users would expect typical File / Save As functionality too. I think the design I've put in question in this post is what is traditionally called the Proxy design pattern. Has anyone tried this (successfully!) with Access database files before? Words of caution or advice?
I'm using direct show to try and capture a webcam stream in to my vb.net program. Heres the subroutine running which works:

I am using the avicap32.dll to capture images and videos from the webcam. but for some reason the code refuses to save the video files. I searched already on DIC and google and I found some topics on it, but I don't find the answer for my question
View 2 RepliesI am building an application in vb 2010 that uses wmp ocx to play videos from remote streaming servers. Is there a way to record or save that video simultaniously? Which technique should I use? I have searched a lot on this but unable to find solution yet. Do i need to use Directshow library?
View 1 RepliesHow to capture a streaming video via .net and save it off to a file on the server? I have seen a few comercial applications (url...) that do it via a client app, but none of them had an API that I could interact with in .NET.
View 6 RepliesI have been working on capturing image and recording video in VB using webcam. From the cource code,I have successfully captured and saved images, however for the video part I have failed to save it in any selected directory. I've checked the code with some other sample codes in internet. Couldn't see any problem or differences. My code for recording and saving are as follow:
Recording:
SendMessage(hWnd, WM_CAP_SEQUENCE, 0, 0)
Saving:
Dim save As Integer
save = MsgBox("Do you want to save your recording video", MsgBoxStyle.YesNo + MsgBoxStyle.Information, "Recording Video")
If (save = MsgBoxResult.Yes) Then

Webcam capture code are below:
Dim capturesource As New CaptureSource
' Get the default video capture device
Dim _videoCaptureDevice As VideoCaptureDevice =

I am using webcam and want to record video and save it on disk, the video time must be constant for such 20 or 30 sec, what i want is to change CAPTUREPARMS members which contain fLimitEnabled & wTimeLimit
'---capcaptureget function
Function capCaptureGetSetup(ByVal hWnd As Integer, ByVal s As Long, ByVal wSize As Integer)
capCaptureGetSetup = SendMessage(hWnd, WM_CAP_SET_SEQUENCE_SETUP, wSize, s)
