I'm looking to reverse the functionality of a VScrollBar in VB.NET - I would like the number to increase when the up button is pressed and decrease when the down button is pressed.I'm surprised that this issue isn't more commonly represented online, but I could find nothing online about making a VScrollBar work the way I want it to in VB.NET. Apparently in VB 6.0, you were able to flip the Min and Max values and this achieved what I desire to do, but they removed that feature in VB.NET
I need to reverse a string of words without using the reverse function. This is what I have so far, BUT it only shows the last two letters. For example: if i type "John" it will only give me "ho"
Public Class frmReverse Dim original As String Dim New1 As String
[code]....
I need to this without using things we haven't seen in class.
So with the stock Textbox, I set the Scrollbars property to Vertical. This is great if the text in my box never changes; I can scroll up and down while the box sits still. If I'm running a background operation that logs output to the box though, the scrollbar resets itself to the top every time I append text to the box.
I know I can set the Textbox.Selection property (or use the Select method) to reposition the carat in the textbox, make note of that position in a variable, then append text, reset the carat, and use the ScrollToCarat method to reposition the scrollbar where it belongs. That's a really (ridiculously) long way around. Anybody know if there's another/better way of holding the scrollbar position, short of actually building a custom control (or using a Textbox and a separate Scrollbar)? It never hurts to try. In a worst case scenario, you'll learn from it.
Can a vscrollbar be used in a groupbox. I have a group box with lots of items in it, but my program window is not long enough to diplay all of it. I wan to tuse the scroll bar in the groupbox.
Do the VScrollBar and HScrollBar controls have a known Value bug?I'm using VB10. While testing some code I used a Horizontal Scroll Bar to change a value on the fly, I thought my code had some bad math in it until I discovered that when the bar is scrolled to the very far right the Value was not equal to its Maximum value setting like it is in VB6, the same happens for the Vertical scroll bar control, set the maximum to 100 the Value will only go up to 91, set max to 200 and value only goes to 191, etc.
I was checking out the internet to get some information on VScrollBar control in VB.NET, however I can't find any useful information on what I am trying to do, as I have never worked with VScrollBar before.
What I am trying to do is use a VScrollBar control to handle scrolling of two Richtextboxes (i.e. synchronized scrolling) because each line of richtextbox1 is associated with the corresponding line of richtextbox2.
I'm currently working on an application that detects a color on a defined area on the screen and together with a panel that displays the color I show the values in a label and represent them with a vscrollbar. (The goal of the project is to output the color of the computer screen via an usb to dmx interface to create an ambilight effect) Now I don't want the user to be able to move the scrollbars up and down so I figured disabling them would do the trick but then the little square you click on to scroll it up and down isn't visible anymore. Vscrolbars enabled: Vscrolbars disabled:
I have a fairly simple VScrollbar problem: the Scroll event triggers when ANY arrow key is pushed, including left and right... I need it to trigger only when up/down arrow keys are pushed (which, I hope, is the default behaviour).
Essentially all I do is declare a VScroll As System.Windows.Form.VScrollBar and later I have a Private Sub VScrollBar_Scroll (...) Handles VScroll.Scroll that manages the event.
I noticed also that the left/right arrow scrolling is by a smaller increment than the up/down scrolling. All of this seems to happen in a very "black box" kind of way, I can't find any way of determining what should trigger the scroll event.
I have the array dimensioned as public to the form. I populate the array on Form1_Load.When I click the button btnReversingAnArray the first time all are sorted in reverse except for Wendy and it is the last item shown. ie..(The book I am even shows an image of the list Box and their example also shows Wendy as the last item)
Richard Michelle Jay Harriet Wendy
Then I do nothing else except I click the button btnReversingAnArray again and then it displays correctly.
I have a program that outputs a series of items onto a form--an "invoice" if you would like. The problem is, when the user enters in more items than the invoice's size can handle the rest just disappears into the mysterious realm down at the bottom. Is there a way where I can make the label automatically detect items going in and create a vscrollbar or something similar so that it can accommodate it's size?
I have a string called "homepage" like so:Dim homepage As Stringhomepage = TextBox1.TextAs an example, homepage equalsDim i As String = Microsoft.VisualBasic.Right(homepage, (InStr(homepage, ".")))abel1.Text = iThat code should select all letters after the last fullstop, but it doesn't.
So far I coded CreateARecord to create the ARecords on my DNS server and it works like a charm, but in the GUI version of DNS it allows you to check a small box that creates a Reverse DNS PTR in the reverse lookup zone, Part of the code below is from VB6 which was code that allows for creating a Reverse PTR in the reverse zone, does anyone have a DOTNET version of that that checks to see if the zone exist just like the one below?
Code: Private Function CreateARecord(ByVal RecordName As String, ByVal IPAddress As String) As Boolean ConnectToDNSServer()
I need to write a VB.NET code to reverse the given characters using a stack.Input: 'S','T','A','C','K' So far I have input the letters, but I don't know how to get the console to reverse it. I'm a beginner to programming so please excuse my ignorance.
Module Module1 Sub Main() Dim StackObject As New Stack
I have a project at my school and I have to reverse a string without using .Reverse... how would I go about doing this?for instance, Bear would become "Raeb," function would become "noitcnuf"
I have a form with nearly 20 Textbox and 5 Combobox and one control in dependent on the other,Now I want to write the code for the form in such a way that, Pressing Enter Key and Tab Key should have the same functionality.Like on pressing Tab Key the focus moves to next control should also be performed when I press the Enter Key.Similarly when I press the Enter Key, there is some process code written in key press event but this should also be performed when I press the Tab Key.
I'm a complete noob to VB.NET and have just made a tic-tac-to game and want to make it multiplayer over the the internet with direct conection via IP address (like CFS3 and the like).
The only thing is I have never used the this before and have searched loads on google and on this site, I just can't seem to find anything that I can understand so if anyone can help me out with where to start getting two machines talking, I have used the WINSOCK tool in VB6 before but didn't really understand it.
I have used sockets in VB6 before but cannot get the same functionality to work in VB.net. I have two machines running VB code and I want the applications to exchange information via a network connection. Using VB6 and socks it was easy but I just can't figure it out in VB.net.The data exchanged are string messages; there is no interaction between users it's just the applications exchanging info. The one machine will always be the server and is running a windows forms application which I'm writing in vb.net (it's actually a satellite antenna controller) the other machine is connected by an Ethernet connection (private network these are the only two devices) and is also running a windows forms application which I'm writing in VB.net (this is the remote controller for the satellite antenna controller) Can someone give me a pointer to some simple code that opens a connection and I can read and write between the two (both ways) using string messages. I' am assuming sockets are the right way to go? Everything I research keeps coming up with console applications
I am creating an authentication server for some projects I'm working on. This authentication server works by receiving and transmitting data to users trying to authenticate. The user can send data to the server succesfully but when sending back it requires port forwarding. I read a way that I would not require port forwarding by using reverse connection but I have no idea how to get it working. I found a tutorial and tried to implement but when it tries to connect to read the stream it says the connection is refused.
Write a program that accepts 4 words as input , using textboxes then displays those words in reverse order.
Heres my
Quote:
Private Sub btn1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btn1.Click MsgBox("Reverse, Order!" & Txt4.Text & Txt3.Text & Txt2.Text & Txt1.Text) End Sub
I'm trying to make my timer go in reverse. I had it earlier, then I tried to make it include milliseconds now it won't work at all. I swear I had this same thing before for seconds, now it won't work. What am I missing?
