How to search "2 bytes" in the application process and change it?For example, I want to change "2 bytes" the application, which is 32,000, but before that I need to search "2 bytes" numbered 32,000, and after I get a byte, I'll change it to 65535.

The code search for the specified bytes in jpg file and when first match is founded msgbox gives you position of the bytes in the file and Function stops. [Code] Now, because I am newbie to VB I have one question. How can I change the Function so that Function search the whole file for all byte matches?

View 1 RepliesI didn't found any performance counter that would monitor an process's/thread's network bandwidth and not just that of an ethernet card.
So I could see how much bytes did an application receive and send.
Did I miss something or is there another way?
I want it to do is that you input a string, then you select an algorithm (Theres only going to be one RijnDael) then you input a key, then the Initialization Vector comes from "txtIV.text" then you select the key bytes and the block bytes from the numeric up/down, then you either encrypt or decrypt.

Does it read the entire message string sent by the client? I have a line to write to the stream later in the code and that does not seem to be sending anything back to the client, although the code around is excuting.

View 2 RepliesI'm using Process.Start method to launch another application from my application. Until today, there was no problem. But I have tested my application in a different OS, Windows XP (SP3), and my application didn't work right on that. I'm also using arguments to run that application. I guess for some reason my application couldn't send arguments to other application correctly under Windows XP. Maybe it is related to my code. But you should know, it works great on Windows 7.

How can i change a process using only 1 core instead of 2 cores? Also, how can I set different prioritys to each process?As it does not save the settings which i put to each process in taskmanager on restart, i decided to make a program so i could simply click a button so it would change the settings for each process i want.For example:With a simple button click it changes msnmsgr.exe priority to low and makes it use only the 1st core.

Now what I want, after I click the "Start" button, the button will become grey and the label.text contains "Processing...". I managed to make the button become grey, but I couldn't change the label.text from "Ready..." to "Processing..." and back to "Ready..." after completion of the task.

What happened when I click the "Start" button were, it became grey, it filled up the texbox.text with number from 0 to 1000 and after it finished processing then the label.text change to "Processing..." where it supposed to appear before the loop start.

View 2 RepliesI've got a common search button in my app that has the typical static magnifying image displayed on it. When the user clicks it I want the button's image to change to the animated search, to inform the user that the app is doing something (searching the database). Then when the search process is complete, change back to the static search image.

When I comment out the line to change the button's image back to the static search image, (as stated above), and click the search button, the app actually performs the search, then when the search is completed, it changes the button's image.
Apparently VB or .Net is performing the under-the-hood process before the display/paint process, even though that's not the way it's coded. give me some insights on how to fix this, AND also please inform me of why this behavior occurs so I can try to avoid it in the future.
On my seat plan system, there are many workstations(around 150+ per floor). each workstation is define by a linklabel. when a user click on a particular workstation, a new form will appear. And that form will pop up to show who occupy on that workstation.And here is my problem,. On my form where I have many linklabels.. I also have a textbox to search for a particular linklabel name,.And if I the user enter the name of the workstation name..the linklabel will change it's background color.
