On my seat plan system, there are many workstations(around 150+ per floor). each workstation is define by a linklabel. when a user click on a particular workstation, a new form will appear. And that form will pop up to show who occupy on that workstation. And here is my problem,. On my form where I have many linklabels.. I also have a textbox to search for a particular linklabel name,.And if I the user enter the name of the workstation name..the linklabel will change it's background color.
I use the following code to create a Label in the status strip when a child window is open.Public Sub StatusStripPanelAdd(ByVal lCount As Integer, ByVal sImage As System.Drawing.Image, ByRef sText As String, ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
How to change all properties of a form to properties of other but don't change important properties like Owner,Handle, OwnedForms, Parent,HasChildren,Controls and ... .I have a child form that i want it to provide controls of Form. The background form provides Aero frame and child form is a transparent form in it.I want it because I want to draw buttons with system style in Aero in Windows Forms. This is my own code but it does not work good (ForeForm is child form):
For Each Propertry In ForeForm.GetType.GetProperties() Select Case Propertry.Name Case "AeroBackgroundEnabled", "FormBorderStyle", "TransparencyKey", "Parent", "Owner", "ShowInTaskbar", "Handle", "HasChildren", "OwnedFo[code].....
Additionaly:I wrote a great Aero Form.I don't publish current version (1.2) that supports Aero Blur,RealTime Aero Color change, extend Basic theme?
I'm working on a Hazardous Materials label printing program. One of the options is to do an "NFPA" label. Since there are 4 values required with 4 or 6 options, the ratings are entered via radio buttons in a group box. That's working okay. I display values in the NFPA diamond as they're entered: left quadrant blue, top quadrant red, left yellow, bottom red. I'm having trouble with the label in which the rating will be displayed on top of a jpg diamond for the white. In this quadrant the text can be up to 4 characters. I can accept the text going into an adjacent block a little, but the corners of the label overlap into another quadrant/color. I reduced the font size which solved the overlap problem but the font is then too small and looks terrible. I tried to make the background of the label transparent to let the color come through correctly but that's not a valid value for label.background. I'm figuring that the transparent background is the best solution. What can I use that will accept a transparent background so the color shows through?
I'm trying to set the transparent property via label properties properties, not via code. Here's the code if it makes any difference:
Public Class NFPA Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Close() End Sub
basically i need to change the text of a label where the name of the label comes from the value of a variable. So, for example,
Dim x as String = "lblTarget" Dim y as String = "Target Text"
In this case the text of "lblTarget" would need to be come "Target Text". Basically, the label that is named the value of variable x would need to take on the text of variable y.
I am working with the MP3IDV1 class from this link: [URL] I am pulling the ID3 tags from music files, and this class returns the Genre in number form. However, it has the property Genres with that entire list.
I have successfully implemented a gradient function that makes my forms visually attractive. However, whatever I do I cannot make the labels or textboxes truly stransparent so that the forms colour (gradient) shows through.
I was asked to develop a simple application to handle car inventory. Each car has a LOT of properties (about 130, like license plate number, type, was it serviced, etc.). Some of these properties are represented by bit data type in a database some are varchar.
The problem is that I need to provide search functionality for any of all these properties and any combination of them. This results in a search form with about 130 controls. I certainly do not want to put the SQL query together manually by checking the state of each and every control. To propagate the problem further I need to be able to search for partial strings as well (i.e. if the user enters "porsc" into the car brand field then all Porsches should be found).
I'm trying to validate a form to be filled out by the users, and when the required section isn't filled, I increment an
ErrorCount += 1
variable to show that error(s) have occurred inside the program, I then also set an
ErrorArray()
to whatever the corresponding field number is, now I have 0-12 (13 fields). What I have also done is titled the labels that are associated with all of these fields to correspond with the ErrorArray() value that might be set, such as.
PatLabel0 PatLabel1 etc.
What I am trying to do is loop through the array contents, depending on which ErrorArray() values have been set, to go and set the corresponding fontcolor property of that label to red, to show that these now need to be filled out. This is what I have, but Visual Studio doesn't allow me to use the iteration through the loop as a reference to changing properties. Can anyone point me in the right direction to trying to figure this out, or at least tell me what else I could do. Just seems doing 20 if....then....else.... statements with 2 - 3 lines in each of them is redundant when 1 function line could do the same job. This is what I have.
for i = 0 to UBound(ErrorArray(12)) if(ErrorArray(i) = "*")then PatLabel(i).forecolor = color.red
[code]....
that is basically all im looking for initially, but I can't do it.
i have a label and from its properties for Backcolor i choose Transparent... However is always the control color why is that? I have a background and i need the label to have the background`s color..
It takes about a minute or 2 to run updatedata as it is doing multiple things to a database - when I execute this code, it stalls and loads the data, then when done I do get my label that says loading complete, but I never see the label before it is done loading to tell the user that it is processing. Is there any way to force it to show before UpdateData() is called so that it shows during the load time?
i have an application that store a data about a properties for sall i use the serlization and desrlization to store the property details to an XML file i call it PropertiesList .xml..i got a form called search it contain 2 text boxes when the user write down a postcode for a property then click search i need the application to search the xml file that contain the details and retrive all the properties that match the searching words and list the result in a list box.
I dragged and dropped a label from the toolbox onto a form (Label6) and stupidly went to the properties window and set "Text" to blank. Label6 shows when the program is run using F5 but does not show on the design surface if I want to move or remove it. How do I get it back onto the design surface or remove it completely?
On my form, I have many labels. Each label's name is like 23SW001, 23SW002..and so on. Then i also have an access database that has a table name tblWorkstation. Then what i want is, if the form loads, it will compare all of the label names to my database. If the label name does not exist in my database. I will change the labels background property.
I have a combo box on my application (working with VB.net) called CmbAttendantstatus. I have sent the dropdownstyle = dropdownlist at the Properties level of the combobox.
There are 200 field types e.g; Current Attendant Ever Attendant Never Attendant etc
The issue is I can only select one from the list, fine, but I want to be able to type the first letter on the combobox and it takes me to the nearest field type rather than looking through the entire drop list. For example I want Never Attendant, I just need to type N and the drop list takes me to anything starting from N and if I add E for example any field starting with NE shows up for selection. Presently, when the dropdownlist is selected you are not allowed to type anything...
I am developing a windows application, how can i store the view state of a page in vb.net. i have 12 labels on a page and when i click on each label the color of the label changes to black, what i want is when i come back to the same page, i want the labels to retain their colors....
So, how can I set (if it's possible) the localization for these labels? I've this kind of assignment in modules and not in the form. It's possible to set a resources file also for modules?
I am currently building a search page, which includes a textbox and two drop-down lists, a search button, and a datagrid. If results are found and displayed, I would like a label to display:
(e.g.) "24 results found for 'blue sky clouds' "
...where the integer represents the results count, and the keywords and/or drop-down list selections are included in the string. If no results are found I would like the label to display:(e.g.) "No results were found that match your selection. Please try again"I would also like the label to be invisible until a search occurs.
I have sucessfully written in excel VBA. The idea is to used the textbox1_change event to find a match in column A of table and once it finds the record, return the value of column B as label1.text. [code] In VB 2008 it's a lot different. I have set up the form the same way with the textbox and labels. I have made a dataset with (1) table (Table1) with (2) columns. Lets call them column A and Column B.I have added the dataset as a binding source to the form and also a table adapter. I also have a standardized query made for the dataset with a very simple SQL statement "SELECT Column A, Column B from Table1"..In order to get the user input to start searching Column A I assume under the textbox_change event i would put something like: [code] I'm getting a bunch of errors of course. Would somepne be able to give me some direction?
I'm creating a new (or more) tab(s) with a multi-line textbox (filled) at runtime and some text is added. Each time I change/select a (new) tab it needs to search for a string and if found...blablabla.How do I get the control to search in?
I renamed my project by creating an new project folder, copy/pasting the old project files into it and renaming those files. This works good, but now all of the message boxes that come up still display the original project name. How can I edit the text in the message box "header" and make it say something else?
I am filling a form with values from a class, which is working fine. But now I want to take the changed values in the text box and modify the class. For some reason I have not been able to get the syntax.
I must have done something really, really dumb somewhere, but I don't know if I did a really, really dumb VB.Net thing or a really, really dumb Framework thing.I have a dirt simple UserControl - it consists of one Button. Nothing more.
In my project, I am trying to change the visible property of my various pictureboxes using a for - next statement. My aim is to get the value of my numericupdown1 control and use this number to make the pictureboxes visible. For example, if this number is 8, the picturebox1, picturebox2, .......8 will be visible. Here is the code I wrote:
