I'm trying the Text Box array suggested in a previous posting and getting only partial success. Here's the situation.
I want to change a control's back color based on a specific situation.
I have defined the array at theclass level for the form that I am working on, as[code]...
How to change all properties of a form to properties of other but don't change important properties like Owner,Handle, OwnedForms, Parent,HasChildren,Controls and ... .I have a child form that i want it to provide controls of Form.The background form provides Aero frame and child form is a transparent form in it.I want it because I want to draw buttons with system style in Aero in Windows Forms.This is my own code but it does not work good (ForeForm is child form):

I have a combo box with font families and another with font sizes.i know how to change the text font properties according to the combo boxes.but now i want to change the combo box selected items according to the text font properties where the cursor is located.but i can't do that.[code]...

View 1 RepliesI am writing an app to be a single button failover of a set of mirrored SQL servers. The app has to handle several other functions (enable/disable and start/stop of services, writing to local registry, copying files from server A to server B, initiating stored procedures, etc.)I have a collection of labels that indicate the status of 4 services on 2 servers, I wrote a function to check the services when passed the machine name, and the service name. Originally I just called the function 8 times (4 services, 2 machines) and populated the labels 'manually'. I have all of this within a timer so that the service status is refreshed every couple seconds. Id like to clean up the code to a single for/next loop that operates on 2 arrays (an array of service names, and an array of labels) such as:
'**Fetch_Status is the function that gets service status, it accepts 2 strings, machine name
'**and service name and returns status "running", "Stopped", as my_status

The only reason I want the control array is to be able to use the .Text and .BackColor properties of the labels in the loop. If I make an array of strings with the label names it doesnt seem to pick that up.
I renamed my project by creating an new project folder, copy/pasting the old project files into it and renaming those files. This works good, but now all of the message boxes that come up still display the original project name. How can I edit the text in the message box "header" and make it say something else?

For example, is there anyway that automatically, when I create a Label, that it could already have AutoSize set to false, and BorderStyle to Fixed3D, etc.? And that form will pop up to show who occupy on that workstation.And here is my problem,. On my form where I have many linklabels.. I'm moving my first steps in the VB.NET world (I come from VB6) and I'm stuck with the creation of a particular class.
Let's say we have a bus that always has 101 places. I'm trying to create a class containing the map of the bus, along with methods to graphically represent it.
My "Bus" class will have a couple of properties ("BusColor", "BusModel") related to the whole bus. Then it should have a property called "Places" whose type is a custom class thet represents every single place, along with, for example, the passenger name or the place number. This property should of course be an array.
This is my code so far (simplified):

Private Const MAX_PLACES As Integer = 101

but I wonder if there is a more standard way of doing this.
My second question is: how can I modify my class to be able to iterate its Places property with the "for each" statement? A quick search on the web showed up that I should implement the IEnumerable interface, but I'm still not enough confident with the concept of Interfaces.
I am trying to build a class that includes an array so that I can refer to each element in the array. For example, let's presume I'm building a class that includes student id, student name, and then an array of 8 courses (numbered 0-7). I'd like to be able to refer to:
baseClassName.Course(0)
baseClassName.Course(1)
etc...but I know that's NOT how it's done...but how IS it done?
I have a dynamic gridview, about 35 rows by 11 columns. When the user hovers over a row, I highlight the row's background in green (with CSS:Hover). I would like to change the column's background as well, but I don't think I can assign css to a entire column. How can I accomplish this?

Whenever ErrorMessage gets set inside of DisplayError an exception gets thrown, even though I am using the dispatcher to call DisplayError.

When i set the id's font to bold, it sets all the fields to bold. for eg., the login control has "Username", "Password" & "Remember Me" and i want to set only the username & password fields bold and leave the remember field to normal.

I create an Access database in runtime, but when want to change the column properties I can't,the IDE tooltip say: "Property 'Item'is'ReadOnly'".I have a VB6 application with an Access 2003 database and not have any problem to manipulate to many properties like OrdinalPosition, ValidationText and others.

View 5 RepliesI need a few columns in my datagridview to have the font be aligned to the right, but no matter what code I use it doesnt work.
I would also like my columns with numbers to always have 2 decimals.
And lastly I would like the right side of the column header to be blank and not movable. I can do this by adding another column to my table with a blank name and then set the width to fill, but the problem is I can just move this around, which is not good, I want to freeze it so it looks good. I do want to be able to move around on the other columns, just not this one. Unless there is another way to do that?
