I do computer repair for my local store and I have been noticing a ton of computers coming in with a fake antispyware program called antivirus 2008. I am trying to make a program that by clicking a button I can end the processes it loads. For now I just need to kill these processes.[code]...Kill Multiple Processes By Clicking Button?
I am very much a beginner with VB. I want to create a simple menu or switchboard which will allow me to run one of several small exe files by clicking an appropriate button. The form and the buttons are OK, and I can get the exe files to run with code like:
Process.Start("C:Documents and Settings(myName)My DocumentsVisual Studio 2010ProjectsMathematicsProgram1.exe")
However I want the final application to be portable, i.e. not dependent on the long path name as above. My intention is that the final application and the exe files ie Program1.exe, Program2.exe, etc should all reside in the same directory so that the application can be run from a CD.
Here is my current code, and it works fine to choose one image and copy it, however, I cannot figure out how to allow multiple file selections then copy them to a new folder.
Imports System.IO Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim strFileName As String
I've been reading gobs of articles on FTP upload in ASP.NET recently and they all seem to make sense, but every time I've tried implementing them I either get an empty file uploaded, or no file at all. Here are some of the articles I've been reading:Managing FTP Transfers from an ASP.NET Web Page By John Peterson FileUpload Control Doesn't Give Full Path...How to: Upload Files with the FileUpload Web Server Control I know exactly what the problem is but I don't know how to fix it. I can pass the file name from the FileUpload control, but the path does not exist for security concerns. However, the StreamReader object requires the fully qualified path of the file to be uploaded, so how the heck do I get that? I'm at my wits end!Let's use the example by John Peterson that I linked above. Here's the code:
Protected Sub btnUploadFile_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Dim myFtpWebRequest As FtpWebRequest Dim myFtpWebResponse As FtpWebResponse
I'm trying to figure a way to select multiple files from a folder and rename them and also add a sequential number to the end.Example: Take img_001.jpg, img_002.jpg and rename them to picture1.jpg, picture2.jpg and so on. There is a maximum of 50 files in each folder..
When the user clicks the Exit button it closes the forms and if there was an open file it asks the user is they would like to save. But after the application closes there is still memory being held in Processes by the application. However, when pressing the [X] in the top of the form the application closes again but in this instance it is not held in Processes. How do I write the close for Exit to take into account how the [X] works and close the application cleanly?

I am trying to create a program which will allow users to select multiple files from a list and then burn them all to a playable DVD. It would be wonderful if i could setup a custom menu programatically as well. I have seen some documentation on Imapi 2.0 but i have not been able to find too much suppoert for it. I have also found a few SDK's out there but most are over $1000 which just isnt in the budget.
1) Is there a library included in windows 7 that will allow me to do this.
2) Is there an inexpensive or open source sdk with good documentation out there to do this with
My application needs to be able to be pointed at different SQL Servers and different databases and I would like to provide the end user with a nice method of selecting both the server and database (the app is for use by other IT staff).Ideally, I was thinking of allowing them to browse to the server (with possibly entering credentials or even better, using their Windows credentials as the databases in question should be accessible to the relevant people via their AD account), and then listing the databases on that server allowing them to select one to use.
I would like them to then be able to easily change the server and database whenever necessary.I imagine I would then need to build the connection strings based on what they select but at the moment I have got rather stuck in just trying to create a form with some kind of Server Browser (I've not got as far as a database browser!).Failing some kind of server/database browser options, I would change to some simple text boxes where the user can enter the name of the server and database directly with some kind of connection verification button.
Finally, is it easy to connect to multiple databases on the same SQL Server at the same time? Is it just a case of creating and referencing multiple connection strings?I am using VB 2008 Professional and SQL Server 2005 Standard.
I'm making a new program. Basically I want them to press browse and select a file. Once selected they press a button. Once they press that button it sends the small file they selected To an email address.

I have a db, and one of the columns in my db is an attachment column. It stores the link to a pdf document. I want the user to be able to browse through folders and select the proper pdf file. And when the user finally hits the submit button on the form my algorithm should put the necessary link into my db. I'm just not sure how to do this with regard to VB searching and finding the file, and then using my SQL statement to insert the attachment into my db.
Here is my code so far.
Private Sub SearchFile_Button_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles SearchFile_Button.Click Dim saveFileDialog1 As New SaveFileDialog()

Somebody mentioned to me that you could use the webbrowser control to browse for files. Setting the URL parameter to a local folder does this. Now, how to do anything with it, such as get the currently selected file(s)/folder(s), override the default double-click action (like open and save as windows do), and change the view style (details vs. large icon)?
I have develope a small apllication. I required help for Browse button & Print button.Browse button can accept path of image from any drive & of any type. And print button gives command of print to connected printer.
