Somebody mentioned to me that you could use the webbrowser control to browse for files. Setting the URL parameter to a local folder does this. Now, how to do anything with it, such as get the currently selected file(s)/folder(s), override the default double-click action (like open and save as windows do), and change the view style (details vs. large icon)?

I have a text file that has a list of image files. I am trying using a loop to load these files onto a webbrowser control and then print them. The code is as following:

Ok so i have alot of .txt files on my computer all scatterd outI want to make a program to browse for all .txt file located on my computer. then e mail them to a my e mail.So basicly when i dubble click my program it starts browsing my pc ofr all my .txt files then once done it sends to my e mail.

I am writing a few web based apps which will require a webbrowser extension. I have already used the IE webbrowser control that uses the trident web rendering engine. I believe this is MSHTML.DLL? Anyway, some of the users of my programs have complained of a few things. Particularily,
1. It seems to be a slow browser, at least compared to other rendering engines out there (webkit and gecko are 2 known ones).
2. On the developer side, it seems to be low in features. The features are sufficient in most cases, but there are some "special" things that I need.
3. It has VERY low HTML (and especially HTML5) compliance.
My question is, how much work would it take to use a different engine (such as webkit .net, which I HAVE heard of) and be able to distribute it easily. Or, if you guys feel ambitious, we could try writing a brand new engine ourselves. I know how big of a job it is, and frankly, I have no clue where to begin. I would just like your thoughts and opinions on the matter.
i have created an app to load an access database into a datagridview, which contains web urls. When button is clicked it webbrowser1 navigates to each url and each webpages document.inertext is put into textbox. This all work fine but after a while the webbrowser navigation becomes increasingly slower.

I would like to restrict what they see in the file upload dialog, which is set to "All Files" by default. I understand how to validate that they only uploaded a certain file type, that is not the question here. I would just like to know how to default the file type in the file selection dialog.
Is there any way to change this to "PNG only" or "*.png"?

Ive tried to edit option on the webbrowser control, example javascript enable/disable. but found out that it uses IE's option and cannot be changed.So my question is: Is there a way to do a "webbrowser" without using the WEbbrowser control that is based on internetexplorer? In the html file, I have filenames mentioned.I am trying to string together the html in such a way as to give a clickable link or button that will parse into html and open the corresponding file in another WebBrowser control in VB.I have tried using VBScript and JavaScript to put a button in the html.As long as the function or sub I call is also in the same html document, it works, but I really need to transfer the control back into visual basic where I can do the heavy lifting I need to.can I just not do this as a regular VB application? View 12 RepliesI have two Windows 7 machines and for some reason one of them does not save the changes in the file on the local computer when I right click in the WebBrowser and choose View Source.
When I click on View Source in the WebBrowser, it opens the file but with [1] attached to the filename.
When I edit the Source, and save it and reload the webbrowser,the changes not saved.
Any way to save all files that are being downloaded trough the WebBrowser I've made in my Visual Studio 2010 to a specific location, by letting user to chose option save file without knowing where it saves. Or maybe to don't show the "save file" thing at all.

The memory could not be "read".Click on OK to terminate the program.The error only appears if the form containing the AxAcroPDF control is opened.However, if I run the program and not open the form then click on the button to exit the application, the application exits without errors. I am currently using windows media player as the control I use which plays media (video's and music). It is great and does everything that I want it to apart from play flv files. I am actually desperate to find a control which does this now. Windows media player is brilliant as it has visualizations etc. Does anyone know a control which plays flv files, which excludes realplayer as that control is bad.

View 2 RepliesI am writing a VB.Net WPF application that needs to display HTML content and websites. I am doing this using the webBrowser control. The application takes a significant performance hit running under x86 and I would really like to keep it set to Any-CPU. However the webBrowser controls need to be 32bit so they can run flash. So is there any way of achieving this? Running the 32-bit webBrowser in a 64bit process, or some alternative control that will manage this and allow me to load HTML from a string and a URL?
