Aug 3, 2011i have 2 computers - a Server and a Client pc which is running on local area network with MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2008 R2 Developer kit at the main pc and Client computer will need to connect to SQL SERVER at main pc using connection string.Let me named server computer as 'MAGNA-PC' and the client pc as 'LAC-PC' and database name is 'db_referafriend' so the code for MAGNA-PC(server) connection string is:[code] i GOOGLE and YOUTUBE for almost 2 weeks before i post . I know that i need to configure the sql configuration manager and enable tcp/ip also add a new port at firewall to allow remote connection also add the sqlserver.exe and sqlbrowser in firewall and I have also chosen "Using both TCP/IP and named pipes" under Remote Connections in the SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration. and all of this doesnt work!

Jun 10, 2011I am developing a windows application for my guys on helpdesk to use with our clients. It is going to be installed on the clients' pc's. One of it's purposes is to display all IP info of a computer. Such as the client's IP address, DNS IP address, DHCP IP address, and Default Gateway IP address, but I can only get it to give me the IP address of the host and no addresses of the DNS, DHCP, or Default Gateway. I know that I could run an ipconfig /all and pull the results into the application, but I would like to have it laid out more simply for it to be easier to read for the clients in case we are walking them through some troubleshooting over the phone and we need their IP information. I do not require and am not requesting any source code.

Jul 17, 2011I have a DGV and a button to open a browser window to an ip address and also a button to open the ip address gateway. I can open the ip address that is displayed in the DGV no problem. What I am stuck on is opening the gateway address. So for example I click a record in DGV then the button and my browser opens to 10.15.2.248 What I need to do is replace 248 with 1 The ips will all end differently though for example 10.20.2.34 , 10.256.34.4 and so on. So as far as I know I will have to trim to the last period and add a 1 How can I do this?

May 27, 2012I am trying to Send an Email with an attachment (using Gmail) but I keep getting errors like "Operation Timed out" or Failure Sending Email". It was working earlier today but I found out that i needed to add Using statement because the email was having a file open that had to be deleted after it was sent but afterwards it doesn't work.
Here's what I have (Portion of it):

I have basic window to enter a service category and description with add, clear, and dashboard buttons. When I try to add a record to the Access database, I get the following:
"Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed."
The code and database is on a jump drive. When I run this at work, it works fine. At home I get the above message.
At work, we use Windows XP and Access 2002, at home Windows 7 and Access 2003. The database was saved as an Access 2000 format.
