MS Access Automation - Click Command Button (Click Events)?
Dec 16, 2009I am writing an Automation program to control an MS Acces applcation. Here is the sequence of events:
- Load MS Access Database (Done)
- Load an MS Access form (Done)
- Take dates from Main.VB and populate 2 fields in MS Access form (done)
- Load another MS Access form called Stage_2 (Done)
- Load a file name into a filed in the Stage_2 form (Done)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_copy on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_import on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)

Jun 11, 2011Is it possible to have multiple click events for a button based on the button text? In other words, if I change the button text can i create a new click event based on that text but use the same button?
for example:
button1.text starts as "steel"
button2.text starts as "brass"
If I click button1 then the text would change to:
button1.text="Stainless"
button2.text="Cold rolled"
If I click button1 again a string would then be added to a textbox and the process would start over again. can I have a different click event or would I need to put an If/Then or Select/Case in the sub to handle this? I have 10 buttons I would need to do this with and each needing at least 3 different choices for each depending on the previous button press.

Sep 11, 2009first, what is the base minimum that windows needs open to run... ex. svchost.exe, explorer, etc.
Second. is there an easier way to close all programs except the ones i want to stay open, i want to keep the needed basics open and my program, which will open other programs, but i want to make sure nothing else is running so that things will go as smoothly and as fast as possible. I just don't want to manually check what processes need killed and place them in the program one by one, i want to kill all but a few.
Extra credit... stopping all unneeded windows services would be nice too, but that would probably be too long of a process to worry about, and not really worth it considering the benefit of speed it would give.

May 19, 2011I'm deploying a VB.Net app (VS 2010 Pro) that requiers the user click a command button to open IE to a financial WEB site and download informaion from the site. The app works fine in every detail when installed on the development computer. But, on the target computer when the command button is clicked an unhandled exception occurs which says: System.IO. FileNotFoundException:File Not found.My code behind the button is Shell("C:Program Files (x86)Internet Exploreriexplore.exe www,fidelity.com",AppWinStyle.NormalFocus)
This works fine on the development computer. Do I need a way to code this as a relative path? If so,can you tell me how this is done?Throughout the app I have written relative paths to needed files using paths like (Open(Environment. GEtFolderPath (Environment. SpecialFoldder.Desktop) + "File Name). They all work fine when deployed.
2008 Programs Won't Open On Any Other Computer!
Mar 31, 2009They are all working on my computer,but they are not working on any other computer(I tested it on about 10 computers). They are working when i start making it,but after they are not working. When i try to run it on other computer it is not opening(there is not any error message), or there is a crash report(application crashes). So they are working on beginning of programming, and after they aren't.
