Up Dating Context Menu State. Depending On Listview Chks?
Mar 16, 2010I'm kicking my self for not being able to resolve this.I have a few items in my context menu thats for my listbox that toggle enable/disable depending on eitheritem is selecteditem is checked.the top 3 items should be enabled only if a item is selected, which works,and the bottom 2 only if an item is checked in the list.(it is a chked list)But what i would really like is that if ONE checkbox is checked then the top three would be disabled. i did try adding a for loop to check for an item is checked but it only half the time worked. (i added the code also)

Setting Checkboxes To An Unchecked State?
May 30, 2011I am using VB Stuido 2008, Net Framework 3.5.I have one Checkbox to Identify the record as Inactive if checked. When I load the form the checkbox is alway unchecked, which is what i want. However, when I go to add a new record the checkbox, not the text for the checkbox is always shaded green, not a checkmark. The checkbox then reacts as if it is checked. This makes it necessary to uncheck the checkbox or else all my record react as if checked.
in the table defintions I have set the default binding value to ((o)) which = unchecked. Iafter setting the default value to ((0)) I deleted the checkbox from my form and then replaced. Not I still get the checkbox shaded which reacts as if Checked.

[Code] I don't have a problem with building the query, my problem is with clicking on the checkbox by clicking on the checkbox by mouse, I can only get Checked and Unchecked, I tried to use the right mouse button click, it did not fired (or I did not test deep enough) I know I can put a button to change the checkbox value to Indeterminate but that will be ugly. I can replace checkbox with combo, which is what i am thinking of doing but I just wonder: Cannot I set the checkbox state to Indeterminate by mouse any how?

Setting Printer Driver Default Settings?
Apr 24, 2012I have a label printer with the driver loaded with the settings in the driver set I can print the exact label that I want, I have the problem that I need to set the default settings in the driver when the software starts. there are 6 of these printers and the only problem we have found is that different operators like to change the settings.
What I need to do is to set the following commands in the driver so each time the system is started (daily) it loads the settings and works properly.
I need to set
Custom Commands Text, Start, Parsed Text
In the Advanced Setup, turn on use printer settings
Other settings would be usfull but as I cannot set these I do not think I will be able to set others.
I can currently set some of the commands eg,
DefaultPageSettings.PrinterSettings.Copies=2
VS 2008 - My.Settings - If When The User Selects No, Then The App Setting Is Nothing

IDE :: Code Updation Is Not Reflecting
Apr 25, 2012I am new to this forum. I have created a module in which declared one structured in public. There were some fields earlier in the structure.

I have included statement includes project.modulename in my main project form where i am referring this structure. everything worked fine. Today, i added new field to the structure by name "example as string" and written some code in module itself to access this field. even this is working fine. but when i am trying to access this field in the main code it is not showing example as structure field and saying not a member.
The drop down suggestion of IDE is not showing this field in main code but in module code it is showing the field. Later, i also found that my debugger is also not working. I tried to clean solution, restart IDE, computer but nothing seems to be working.
Controls Not Reflecting Changes On Form Vb2010
Feb 8, 2011this is somewhat related to my previous issue which was solved: [URL] Now my problem is none of the affected controls are changing on the form. The form itself is not frozen as an elapsed time is going fine on it. when I "F8" thru the code the I see the controls contain the correct values and if I do a messagebox display of the control contents it displays the correct value. but the controls themselves do not change on the form. for example: label1.text will still show blank even though thru code it contains "test". what am I missing here?

In the button click event to clear the text boxes I am creating a new object to the class and assigning true to one property value. Sounds simple until I try and submit the form with a different button, and create a another object reference that I use in an IF statement to check the property value for true. Every time the statement fails because the value being returned from the getter in my class is false.

Refreshing Textbox - Does Not Update Reflecting The New Product
Apr 16, 2009I have 3 text boxes that are related on a form. They come from the same dataset and the same table in the dataset. The 3rd textbox is defined in the table as the product of textbox (really the column) 1 and 2. The problem is when I save after changing textbox 1 or 2, 3 does not update reflecting the new product. I have a different form using a different dataset that does a similar setup correctly. What could be the difference between the 2 forms or tables or dataset that I could look for?

During that time we released several versions (4.x.x) of our program to the public and were able to preserve the user's settings using My.Settings.Upgrade.During the past development cycle we upgraded the program to Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4.0 and changed the version to 5.x.x. Now, when a user upgrades from 4.x.x to 5.x.x they lose all of their settings.However, in all upgrades after that point (ie 5.0 to 5.1) all the user's settings are once again preserved.I checked C:Documents and Settings<USER_NAME>Local SettingsApplication DataCompanyName and it contains two directories:
ApplicationName_Url_aaa ApplicationName_Url_bbb
where aaa and bbb are 32 character strings. All of the user.config files for the 4.x.x releases can be found in the ApplicationName_ Url_aaa directory. All of the user.config files for the 5.x.x releases can be found in the ApplicationName_Url_bbb directory.Based on this information it seems like something changed when we converted our program to VS2010 and Framework4 that is now causing a different 32 character string to be generated. However, we have been unable to track it down.

It seems implied you cannot create new user settings.subobjects at runtime. I'm looking to find the easiest way to save a populated array of PictureBox's. Mar 3, 2009my old vb6 program used to store to ini files now with .net I rekon I need to do something new.. was thinking XML but then in searching around I stumbled apon this my.settings stuff.. so I followed the instructions but something strange is going one..
1. whats the difference between the standard my.settings and adding a new class that is of settings ? anything ?
