Standard Deviation Calculator - Random Number Of Numbers Input By User
Feb 19, 2011Im working on writing a program for doing standard deviation and as of right now im running into one slight issue with subtracting my mean from the original numbers. I will post most of my code so you can get an over view but i mostly just want help on this one little part for now. Im going to be making a website for school and put some programming stuff on it so i wanted to make just some random programs for it so this is school related but not really homework. It's line 26 and 27 that this is relating to. When i put a stop in my code and look at the result of arrayDifferences it gives me 0.0 when it should be -1. I know i can go this route and say arrayDifferences(1) = arrayDifferences(1) - arrayAvg but seeing as how i want this to be a random number of numbers input by the user i cant do that.

Jun 7, 2009What is the standard font to use on forms? The default font in vb.net is "Microsoft Sans Serif" size - 8.5, but it looks small, and users complaining on too small font. When changing to size - 9 or bigger it looks not proffesional. Also, I have tryed other fonts and they don't look standard.

Jan 29, 2012I've run into an issue with Access Key in either Visual Basic or C#... also happens whether on my windows 7 64 but laptop or my Windows Vista 32 bit laptop - in Visual Studio 2010 professional... I create an Access Key (for example E&xit)... while the underline under the x shows up in the development area, it does NOT show up when I run the application NOR does it work... for example, press alt-x does not run the code associated with the exit (nor does a break into that code show it gets into that code).When I try it in a menu, it is a little different at first the underline under the access key does not show up but then after I access something by hand, it sometimes shows up and is usable.

i decided to use toolstrip and inserted some buttons but end up that it doesn't do the validation for control and also doesn't call leave event of textbox control.
so my question is, anyway to use regular button functionality for toolstripbutton or there is a way to add regular button on toolstrip.
Implementing Radio Buttons - Select One Of Them To Use One Formula, And Then Select The Other To Use Another Formula
Feb 20, 2009I want to place two radio buttons in so I can select one of them to use one formula, and then select the other to use another formula. I want to use the I=P(1+r)^n formula and I=P(1-r)^n formula with the radio button text showing Appreciation and Depreciation.

Get The Standard BackColor Of A Standard TabPage?
Mar 11, 2009I am trying to add a TabPage containing a UserControl to a TabControl at runtime, because the number of TabPages to add are determined at runtime.
The UserControl (objDataInfo) is just two Textboxes, two labels and two Radiobuttons, nothing too exciting...
The TextBoxes have their Anchor properties set to Left, Up, Right so they scale with the width of the usercontrol.
The TabPages are added in the constructor of the form, which takes the number of tabpages to create (n) as an argument:

C# - Standard Windows Menu Bars In Windows Forms?
May 6, 2010I noticed that adding a MenuStrip (from the Toolbox) to my form design doesn't yield a menu bar like many native Windows applications. Instead I get a menu bar like Visual Studio's own. None of the style settings for MenuStrip appear to mimic the much more common native menu bar.Is there a way to add a menu bar to my Windows Forms application that looks the same as the one you see in Notepad, Task Manager and others? (Preferably with the designer, but I wouldn't mind adding it programmatically either.)

Feb 25, 2009I use the following columns stored in a SQL table called tb_player:
Date of Birth (Date), Times Played (Integer), Versions (Integer)
to calculate a "playvalue" (integer) in the following formula:
playvalue = (Today - Date of Birth) * Times Played * Versions
I display upto 100 of these records with the associataed playvalue on a webpage at any time.
My question is, what is the most efficient way of calculating this playvalue given it will change only once a day, due to the (today-date of birth) changing? The other values (times played & versions) remain the same.
Is there a better way than calculating this on the fly each time for the 100 records? If so, is it more efficient to do the calculation in a stored proc or in VB.NET/C#?

Apr 1, 2009how to generate the formula. want to use arraylist to store and for loops to loop the formula til the system can detect which staff it should giv the ticket to..below is the scenario:this is a helpdesk system..so each ticket they submit muz be auto assigned to a staff to attend their ticket..each staff has a different quota..so i came out wid this algorithm on hw to determine who the ticket shld go to..
for ex: i set one ticket's quota is 7%
staff A's quota - 47% staff B's quota - 35% staff C's quota - 18% so to knw how many tickets A get den B getx 1 ticket and how many tickets B get den C gets 1i came out wid a calculation like this -
Staff A - 47% / 7% = 6.7(max no.of tickets he can receive foe a period of time)
Staff B - 35% / 7% = 5
Staff C - 18% / 7% = 2.5
so first i compare A&B whr i took 6.7/5 = 1.3 -> so every 1.3 ticket A gets,B gets 1 ticket den i compare B&C whr i took 5/2.5 = 2 -> so every 2 ticket B gets,C gets 1 ticket i wanna implement this concept in my code..but i dunno how to come up wid this formula..

I stopped the code at Year 2 as it repeats the ElseIf to EndIf unitl selectedIndex = 15 & intYear 16.
it works for Year 1 but the problem comes with Year 2-15. it needs to take the value from the previous result in lstOutput and use it in the formula for principle.

Apr 4, 2011I am using Crystal Report 10.5.3700.0. I have created a report which is using stored procedure. Now from vb.net code (in VS2005) I set the selection formula like: proSaleByPerson;1.PersonsId=1
But when the report load its giving following error "Query Engine Error 'ADO Error Code:0x'", Failed to open a rowset. Keep in mind that all other reports are working fine only that reports creat problem which are using stored procedure, when setting the selection formula.
