I used the DataSet Designer to create FTWDataSet which holds the AlarmText table from a SQLExpress database.This far my form contains ONLY Datagridview1.The code below successfully shows the contents of the AlarmText table plus the one added checkbox column (which I will populate with display-only data, and is not an issue here).

- i have a DataGridView (DGV) whose datasource is a DataTable (not BindingSource).
the DGV is used to sort the datatable before splitting the fields into different textboxes.
i can add/delete record from the DGV and the Database is modified accordingly. but it seems that i can append an existing record in the DGV thru the textboxes but the changes are not made to the database.

I have a table in Access with two key fields (let's call them Item and Cust). These key fields *combined* are the primary key. So each record must have a unique Item and User combination. It can have a duplicate Item with other records, and a duplicate Cust with other records, but not a duplicate of both. Because my "primary key" is a combination of two fields, I can't make a primary key on the table in Access (it only supports one field as a primary key).
I have another table in SQLServer which also has Item and Cust, but in addition, is has several descriptive fields that give more details about the Item and Cust. I have a page which lists all the files in a particular folder (all PDFs), using a data-table and gridview. I'm currently sorting this table by the filename (by using a dataview), which isn't that helpful, and I want the gridview of files sorted by the file created or file modified date (as recorded in Windows). If that's not possible, a second option would be to extract the date from the file name string (no problem doing that), and sort the dataview/datatable or gridview based on that.

I have a project which contains a large number of lookup tables, and I have all of these lookup tables represented in a single typed DataSet, which contains TableAdapters for each lookup. I've designed an editor for these lookup tables, which should allow editing of one of these at a time. My front-end is written in VB and WinForms, the back-end is a SOAP web service; I can successfully pass the changes to the DataSet back to the web service, but can't find a way to use a TableAdapter to update the single table that has been changed.
What I'm trying to do is instantiate the appropriate TableAdapter for the updated DataTable by sending the name of the table back to the web service along with the DataSet, then referring to the TableAdapter with a dynamic name. The normal way to instantiate a TableAdapter is this:

What I'd like to do is this, but of course it doesn't work:

How can I update local dataset with mysql database without making duplicates. Assuming I set some column in mysql as primary key, which has unique string.
adapter.fill will just add duplicates, but adapter.clear before that is not an option.
So I want to update if the key column is the same with mysql data and if there is option for ignore adding new row.

I have two data tables. dtAllResults is the master data table which contains ResultIDs and everything related to each ResultID. dtNoCV is the other data table which only contains ResultIDs. If the ResultID from dtNoCV is located in dtAllResults I want to update some checkbox cells in dtAllResults (as seen below).

I have a form with comboboxes, if the user doesnt select a value in the box I want a null to be sent to the database. The insert works fine, i look at the record in the db and see the null. The update doesnt work. gives me a n "Update statement conflicted with foreign key constaint....."

As I step through the selected value of the cbox 5 is shown as nothing (which it should be because the user didnt select a value for this combobox). I assume this needs to be a null instead of nothing to get written to the database. the combox boxes need to match a primary key in another table so sending a 0 would also result in the forieign key error since the related table does not have a 0 ID field.
