Make Data Search Engine Like The One In Excel?
Aug 26, 2010I m writing my first ever application.I want to make a data search engine exactly same as the excel sheet has.The search form is a owned form and has one combobox to specify the search criteria that in which column of the database table i want to search and a textbox to write the search item.What i want is when i type 'A' in the textbox and click the findAll button the search result should display the first matched record in the textbox of owner form and then if i click findNext button the search result should display the next matched record.Same like excel Find and Replace Window.

I have tried several attempts and whatever I do I am getting the following error message: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException was unhandled ErrorCode=-2147319784 Message="Altes Format oder ungültige Typbibliothek. Translated: Old format or unknown type libraryI have added the reference "Microsoft Excel 12.0 Object Library" to my project. I am assuming that I might have to add a different or an additional reference, but I do not have any clue which one to use. List of things I have already done:- Searched other forums- Altered the language settings- Tried it on an other Computer (Win XP SP3, Excel 2007, Visual Basic 2008 Express)- Ran the diagnostics tool in Excel - Updated all updates etc...- Reinstalled Visual BasicI really do not have any clue why it should not work?

Sep 23, 2011I am trying to import and read data in from an Excel file that is being updated every half second by way of a DDE Link from RSLinx Gateway,which I think is a default setting, though that data only changes every few minutes. There are 5 rows and 8 columns of data that I am reading in.Each column is a different tester starting with the second row, Testers 1 through 7. The first column has titles that describe the data coming in from the DDE links.
Each column has 5 rows of data related to the tester.I know how to display the data which I will post my code for below, but as far as reading the data and determining whether or not the part was good or bad, based on a boolean value, I am stuck.I would also like to save the data into a different excel file after determining the status of the part so that we can look at past data.

I more interested in using Excel, because for later analysis i would came out with graph using excel rather than using access. Since, i been develop a GUI Program for Battery Cyclic Test. My weakness is not been able to understand/know how to read raw data for particular column, and display it into textbox. Some of the columns contain date information, which are read in fine (usually as a string "2/20/2011" or so), but the headers of those columns are read in as a blank "". The headers for all the other columns read in fine, but not for the date containing columns.

May 4, 2012I am trying to read data from an excel sheet but there is an exception saying that no value given for one or more required parameters which I don't understand. Here is my code upto where the error is pointing to:

The exception points to that last line MyCommand.Fill(DtSet) which shows me that there is a problem with my select statement. Previously my code reads the data and displays it without the where clause in the select but when I added the where statement so that it can only read data from rows where the column I has a value equal to 176, it instead gives an exception that shows that some required parameter is missing a value?

Mar 10, 2009I am using Visual Studio 2005. I am using a data reader to read an Excel spreadsheet and want to update a SQL Express table. The datatypes in this table mimic a software application I will eventually be passing data to and are listed in the comments in my code. No matter what I do or change, this will not run. I even populated my spreadsheet with zeros and this will not run. I have found many suggestions on the web and tried changing things but nothing seems to work. Sep 3, 2008Im working on a HSD 32 bit data bus to serial converter via a microcontroller. Now first I want to make a sort of data sniffer to read the data bus (32Bit) .All on the controller side is working and the stream of bytes are coming in via RS232 as 4 bytes in HEX like FD,A5,45,8B . I already converted the bytes in Dec and ASCII to determine what is passed true the bus and how fast and stuff.. Now that is all correct and working very well if the LSB (least significant bit) of the 32 data bus is Data line 0 and the MSB (most significant bit) is Data line 31 but if that is not the case I need to invert the 32Bits (like as I would invert the connector on the bus) . How do I best do this using the 4 bytes I send from the micro controller.
Example:
(MSB) 01001000 01100101 01101100 01110000 (LSB)
HEX= 48 65 6C 70
DEC= 72,101,108,112
ASCII= H E L P
I need to invert it with a button to:

Transferring VB Form Data To Excel Worksheet And Copying New Excel Data To A VB Form?
Aug 22, 2011I created a VBA project in Excel. I would like to figure out how to transfer the data back in forth to make a more presentable and user-friendly program in VB Studio.Basically, I need my form in VB to input data to into an excel �workbook.data�, where the calculations are preformed. Then I need to copy the finished excel data cells �workbook.results� and paste them into an end result form in VB. I have tried looking at threads and cannot come up with a solution. There is no data saved each time the program runs, so I don't have a database.
